Little Leo was the first to greet the Phoenix as he stepped into the room. He raced to him and yelped in excitement. The Phoenix was his personal favorite after Roohi. The man never forgot to get him a treat. When the Phoenix picked him up, and gave him a little rub behind his ears, Leo was in dog heaven.

The Phoenix reached for the treat that he got with him and placed it in the dog bowl. Leo licked his face in excitement and then jumped down to enjoy his treat. The Phoenix looked at the boy sleeping peacefully. He wished he did not have to disturb the boy's sleep, but it was the only time he could sneak in without raising alarms. Dodging Roohi's watchful eyes was never easy.

He made his way to the bed, and sat down with the boy. If it were up to him, he would never disturb the boy's sleep, but he knew that Abhi wanted to see him. He did not understand the attachment Abhi developed with him. When he first sneaked in to talk to the boy, he was determined to scare him into silence, but the boy surprised him with a warm hug. That hug changed everything for him, the moment he held the boy close he knew he could not hurt him in any way. When he asked Abhi to keep his secret, the boy agreed without argument. He kept his secret for a year, never breathing a word to anyone. He knew Abhi felt guilty for hiding things from Arjun, and yet even in the darkest hours he never betrayed him.

Love and Loyalty like that could change even the darkest souls. He was blessed to have found Abhi. The Phoenix gently caressed the boy's hair. The more he met the boy, the more he longed to go back home. The boy reminded him of everything he left behind, everything that he was fighting for. One day soon he would remove the mask, that day he would be finally free.

Abhi turned around and snuggled into his Bhaiya's warmth. He woke up the minute the Phoenix touched him. Abhi was waiting for him the whole night, finally his wait was over.
