*Lyndi in the media*
Ray
I never intended to hurt Summer. She just got all in my face and I wanted her out of it before I did hurt her. And I know y'all are like you got mad for no reason, but that girl Kylie will do anything to hurt me. She know she cant fight me, so she is probably trying to steal Summer to get at me. And Summer is sitting there falling into her trap just like a stupid ass would!
Im laying in the locker room with Summer, and she's asleep when I get a text message.
Lyndi: Im back in town for tryouts later. Coming to see me, Daddy?
Me: Most Definitely, sweet thang!
Lyndi: Dont worry. Im outside the school. C'mere.
Summer groans in her sleep. "Baby, what you doing?"
I stutter when I lie. "I-I-I'm finna go to basketball practice."
"Okay, baby," she says. "Im gonna be here for cheerleading tryouts anyways. Pick me up?"
I smirk. "You got it babe, and dont worry. You're definitely gonna be a cheerleader."
She nods. "I know. I know." Summer takes a deep breath. "I guess since you're leaving, I'll catch the rest of my classes. It's lunch time."
I stand up and pull her up with me. "I just want you to know that Im really sorry about earlier. I would never hurt you, my love."
Summer smiles. "Okay, baby. I'll see you later. She walks off.
I go to my basketball locker to find a wife beater, Jordan basketball shorts, Elite socks, and my Jordan slides. (The Finna Get Pussy Outfit)
So, I bet yall are like who is Lyndi. Before Summer came, Lyndi and I had a thing. We dated all year last year, and we never broke up... But in my defense, she moved to Italy for the summer. Then Summer was there and... Ugh! I feel bad for treating Summer badly. I do love her.
Once I get to the front doors of the school, Lyndi's leaning against my car. She's a model. She's 5'11" with mocha brown skin and gorgeous puffy/curly, natural hair witn sweet, puffy lips.
"Hey babe," she says, kissing my cheek. "I've missed you."
I pick her up and turn her around. "I missed you too, sweet thang!"
Lyndi stares at me and tugs at my T shirt. "My place or what?"
I smirk. "That's what I like about you. Woman that knows what she wants... But I have something for you at my place. Let's go, mama."
She jumps in my arms.
Meanwhile...
Summer
I walk out of the gym and walk to me and Ray's locker. I pull out my binder and two textbooks for my last two classes of the day before the weekend.
Miranda walks by. "Hey, um, you seen Ray?"
I nod. "Yea. She just left. She had basketball practice."
"At lunch?" she questions.
"Uhm... Yea, I thought that was odd, too, but Ray doesnt lie," I say confidently.
Miranda touches my shoulder. "Watch it, okay? I know Im Ray's friend, but I'd hate to see you get hurt."
I laugh. "Okay. Thanks."
She walks away.
I roll my eyes. Whatever.
Just as Im about to close my locker, someone does it for me.
"Hey Kylie," I say.
"Nice to see you again," she says smiling.
I smile. "You too."
"Look," she starts. "...About earlier. I didn't mean to get you in trouble. I just didn't peep you as the type to talk to Ray's type."
I laugh. "Ray's type? What's her type?"
Kylie leans against my locker. "Lyndi Fisher. Model, puffy lips, hour glass figure, but stupid as hell!"
"Really?" I ask. "Um, I've never heard of a Lyndi Fisher this year. And I've been here for a week."
She rolls her eyes. "She studied abroad for the summer. Where is the bastard anyways?" She's talking about Ray.
"Basketball practice," I say.
Kylie looks as if she wants to say something, but doesnt.
"Why don't you like Ray? Shes amazing," I start. "She--"
"Yea, yea, yea." Kylie grabs my hand. "You have an hour for lunch. Let me take you somewhere."
"Uhhhm," I start. "I dont think Ray wou-"
"Would want me to save her girlfriend from the cafeteria?" she finishes. I bet she would."
I smile. "Mnk." I know Ray wouldn't, but Ray wont know. And I desperately need to find out what "type" Ray is... Because it doesnt sound too good. Who is Lyndi?
Meanwhile...
Mo
I run out of the bathroom to go home. I dont know why this is where I'm going, but I have no other choice. Hopefully no one's home. Im walking to the bus stop when... A black Camaro drives up. The windows are all tinted. The driver rolls the window down.
It's Ray....
With Lyndi....
"You good, mami?" Ray asks.
I nod. "Yea. Im finna catch the bus."
"Where's your car?" Ray asks.
"It was at the club. Charles got it for me. S'posed to be bringing it to my crib." I look over at Lyndi and wave. "When'd you get back?" (you she devil.) I hate her.
"Today." She fakes a smile at me.
"Want a ride?" Ray asks.
I shake my head. "I need time to think." . . . "Ray.... What about?" (Summer.)
She shakes her head. "I know man. Ima... Ima fix something."
I nod. "Ight bro."
She drives off.
Should I tell Summer the truth? That Lyndi is Ray's girlfriend who's been out of town. I know I've known Ray forever, but... Summer's my best friend. I think she should at least know the truth. I shake my head. That's defying my brother though. Ray's been my friend since first grade. Ray's a player. Not a lover. I thought she changed with Summer, but... I guess not since she's back with Lyndi.
A light blue charger with a green stripe going down the middle pulls up. It looks familiar.
Dee
"C'mon, MoMo, baby." I stop the car. "Where you going?"
"Home. I-I need to think!" she yells. "I cant..." Thunder cracks. "Im fine." It starts raining.
"Let me take you home, please?" I plead. She looks like she's getting sick. Her nose is red.
"Leave me alone!" she yells. "Im fine, godammit!"
"Im not leaving you in the rain!" I frown my eyebrows at her. "Don't make me come get you." I look at my Gucci-downed outfit. Ugh! If I have to get this wet!
She rolls her eyes and sneezes. "As if..."
Fuck! I open the door and swoop her up, getting my Gucci all wet.
"Put me down!" she yells. "Let me go!"
I sit her in the passenger side of the car. I close the door and get in the driver's seat.
She pouts. "I dont take handouts. And I dont want to go to your house. I want to go home!"
"Fine. Just..." She sneezes. I pull out my Gucci handkerchief. "Here." Damn girl! "Where you stay?"
"EQ," she says. "Erie Quarters."
"Im not from here," I remind her.
"Get on the highway and I'll tell you which exit to take." She looks over at me. "Why are you so nice to me?"
Because you deserve it, I want to tell her. Instead, I just shrug.
She gives me instructions to her house. Other than that, we dont talk.
I look over at her now and then. She's so gorgeous. So beautiful. And she cuts herself? I dont understand. I want to know why.
We pull up to an average house. Nice size, I guess. Two stories. She doesnt seem to be fazed by it. What has her attention is the car pulling up down the street.
I touch her hand. "You can come home with me," I remind her because she looks afraid.
She's looking out the window at the car... "Please?" she squeaks out as quiet as a mouse. Tears pour down her face.
"Mo, baby. What's wrong?" I ask.
"Can we just go?... Please! Please!" She starts yelling through her tears.
I whip out of the driveway quickly. "Who is that?"
"My stepdad... He used to rape me before he went to jail. I knew he got out of jail soon, but-" Mo cant finish her sentence because someone's tires squeal. The car she was afraid of whips around.
"Put your seatbelt on!" I yell. "That car's coming straight for us."
"He saw me!" she yells. "He hates me because I called the police on him, and he saw me! He said he wanted to kill me, Dee!"
I try to speed up, but it's too late.
The car rams into the side with Mo on it.
She's barely speaking. "He saw me." She's muttering. "He saw me."
"Are you okay?" I ask. "You okay baby?"
She nods. "He saw me. He saw me."
I get out of the car enraged. "He did this on purpose?"
She nods. "He saw me. He saw me."
A woman resembling Mo walks out of Mo's house. Older. Aged. Beautiful. "What the hell is going on?" she asks.
The man who ran into us gets out of his car, walking towards the lady.
"Daniel!" Mo's mom (Im guessing) yells. "You're back!"
Daniel must be Mo's stepdad. "Yea baby. Im out. No thanks to your daughter, but now it's just you and me!"
"What?!" the lady yells. "What'd you do?"
I grab him by the neck and start beating the shit out of him in the rain.
"This is for hitting Mo! This is for raping her, you asshole! Trying to kill her." Im beating the shit out of him when I black out.
