Chapter 40 - Old Times

Summer

"Rayne Simone Robinson!" I yell as she walks in the door. "Where in the hell have you been?"

Everybody that left with her got back way before she did. Where has she been in the last fucking hour! I'm not doing this bullshit with her again, I swear.

Ray shakes her head. "Summer, baby. Chill, okay? I just been in my office, running some numbers. Is that a crime?"

I roll my eyes. "I've heard THAT before." I start to walk away towards the staircase.

She grips my arm. "Hey! What's THAT supposed to mean Summer. God, we haven't been back together for more than five hours and you're already on my ass."

I sigh. "I'm sorry......." I lower my voice. "That's my job, Ray. I'm your girlfriend, but it's not like before. We're grown now. Some responsibilities please? Can I be a priority? Is that a crime?" I start walking towards the kitchen. "I hate this, Ray. Maybe us getting back together wasn't the smartest of ideas. I mean..... I'm always gonna be edgy about you because I know you're capable of cheating with me being totally oblivious to it. Maybe we should just-"

I feel arms crawl around my waist as I enter the kitchen.

"Stop it, Ray!"

She rocks me back a forth. "Don't say that. Don't ever say that.... Summer, I love you. I fight to get you, and you wanna dip out on me within a matter of hours. Hell no."

I'm pressed against the counter with Ray's frontside on my ass. She knows what this does to me. I smile. "You know what you're doing, Ray. Stop using sex to get out of everything."

Ray smacks her lips. "Aw, shit. Summer, I feel like I'm seventeen again. I want my baby right now. That's bad?"

I turn around. "I guess not." I press my nose into her shirt."

Ray rolls her eyes. "So trying to check me. I haven't been with no other female, Sunshine. It's me and you."

I pull myself back with my arms still wrapped around my baby's waist. "No, you smell like some good ass weed baby."

She smirks. "You wanna roll with Daddy?"

Nodding, I reach into her pocket, pulling out what she's been hiding this whole time. Sweet, sweet Mary Jane.

Ray smacks her lips. "Damn, baby. I can't spoil you? Surprise you for once?"

I bite my lip shaking my head. "No... you got some paper for this?" I reach in the other pocket to find some Swisher paper.

Ray hugs me. "I love you. Damn. Your nose stronger than a hound dog's."

I roll a blunt for us. It's extra fat because I stuffed that bitch. I'm sitting on Ray's lap, facing her and rubbing on her chest. I lean to lay on her. "Baby, I want to be with you forever."

Ray shakes her head. "Baby, I do miss you..... but I'm back at this sit. I want you to be careful and watch your back."

"As long as I'm with you, I'm just fine," I say running my hands through her hella long ass dreads.

Ray chuckles lightly. "Remember when we was staying in yo pop's place with the gang and I beat it up for the first time when I was higher than Cloud Nine?"

I nod. "How could I forget? And Raylynn ran in the next morning, hoping you didn't hurt me."

We both laugh hard as fuck.
