Chapter 28

A few months later...

A few months had passed. I had been on bedrest ever since the preterm labor incident. Stormie had been so sweet letting me stay in their home in Riker's old room. He came home when he could and kept Maddie on tour with them as much as possible. R5 was taking a break from touring and just doing a few shows here and there. They postponed the European tour so that Riker could be here for me when the baby comes and help after. They will go on their European tour after Rydel and Ellington's wedding this March. I am about a week until my due date. I had been feeling very uncomfortable lately and my doctor told me that I could get off bedrest since I am considered full term.
" hey Bree, mom is going to watch Maddie tonight. I want to take you out and spend a night alone with you before our son comes." Riker told me. I agreed.
" sounds great babe" I smiled and wrapped my arms around the back of his neck. He leaned in to kiss me and it got hot and heavy really quick. " I think we should postpone this until tonight, don't you think?" I said as I smirked at him.
Riker looked over at Maddie reading a book on the couch and nodded in agreement. One thing among a lot that was great about Riker, he still loved me and my body even though i was hugely pregnant. It never seemed to phase him and it didn't dull our intimacy. We pulled away from our embrace and I walked over to Maddie
To tell her to get a bag packed to go to gramma stormie's for the night. As I turned around Riker smacked my bottom playfully and attempted to wink at me. He was never really good at that. I just laughed as I headed to our bedroom to get ready for our date night.

I was holding up the only couple of outfits left that fit me when Riker peeked in the doorway. He stood leaning against the doorframe smiling. I didn't notice him there until he started talking.
" you know no matter what you wear, it will look beautiful on you. " he said trying to build my confidence up. He was always good at making me feel good about myself.
" thanks babe. I just don't have a lot that fits me right now. These are the only two dressy maternity outfits I have and they are stretched to the max." I said as Riker walked over to me. He came up behind me and hugged me looking into the mirror.
" you know what Brianna.." He started as he rubbed my baby belly. " this is the best gift you could give me. You are the most beautiful woman pregnant or not. You are an amazing mother to Maddie and I can't wait to see you with our son. You are just glowing and gorgeous." He saw that I had started to cry and turned me around to face him. He cupped my face and wiped my tears with his thumbs. Kissed my forehead and pulled me into his famous Riker hugs.

" mommy daddy, I am all packed and ready!" We heard Maddie say as she barged into our room. This is the reason we need a night alone. " alright sweetie. I think dad is going to drive you to gramma stormie's." I bent down as best as I could and kissed her cheek. " you have fun tonight. I think uncle Rocky is gonna come over and play guitar with you!" Her eyes widened.

" see you in a bit babe." Riker said as he grabbed Maddie's bag and headed out the door.

I settled on the maxi skirt that was white and black chevron print with a black short sleeve V-neck. I heard the car pull up and Riker shirt the door. I went downstairs to meet him.
" ready to go?" I asked as he walked through the door. " yep. Just let me grab my coat. You should grab one too. It's getting chilly" he said as he pecked my lips. We got into the car and headed out to dinner. He was taking me to Luciano's where he proposed to me. It was our favorite restaurant.

After dinner we walked around the mall for a bit window shopping. We had the nursery and everything ready so we had no reason to get anything. We did get Maddie a gift for when she meets her new brother, which was hopefully soon. We went back home and decided to buy a new movie and watch it together. After I put the movie in I was going to just sit next to my husband but he insisted I sit on his lap. I sat so I had my legs over him and we snuggled like that for a bit. I just loved being in his arms. He always smelled so good too and never wore cologne. About halfway through the he movie I ran my hands through his hair on the back of his head. I knew he loves it. He turned to me and smiled that naughty smile of his. He pecked my lips lightly then deepened the kiss. He moved me around so I was straddling him and picked me up to bring me to our bedroom. We fell into our intimacy quickly, our bodies synced as one. Afterwards we layer there spooning. Riker had his head buried in my neck and was snoring so loud I started to laugh. I fell asleep but was woken up by a very uncomfortable cramp in my stomach.
