Chapter 16

Three Months Later...

Maddie has been enrolled in school now for just over a month. She absolutely loves kindergarten. She comes home almost every day with something for the band to either hang up in their rehearsal area, on the bus or on our fridge at home. Things with Riker are going very well. We still haven't made love yet. We want to but we want to make it special and I think Riker is really trying to respect my space. He is taking me on a date tonight and I am beyond excited.

I have found a part time job working at the record company as a receptionist. It's easy money and I get to be home when Maddie gets home from school and I get to go to shows with the band whenever they have them too,which works out well. Maddie is adapting really well to living with the band. If they have parties, she gets to hang out at grandma and grandpas house.

She has started calling Rydel,Rocky,Ross and even Ellington aunt and uncles. Which I find cute and they don't seem to mind. In fact I think it has made them bond with her even more. Ross will help her learn the guitar, Rydel and her love doing girlie things, Rocky and Ellington are still competing for funniest Uncle too. I think maddie is still on Ellington's side though. We all get along so great. Rydel and I share cooking duties and since I have a little more time on my hands I tend to do the majority of the laundry and cleaning of the house. I guess you could say I am used to it. But it is completely different. I don't feel like I have to when I have the time. sometimes Riker tells me to stop and just relax which is completely new to me.

Tonight we are having Rydel and Ellington watch Maddie for us so we can have our date. Riker told me to wear something nice so Rydel and I went through both of our closets to find the best thing to wear. I feel like Rydel knows something I don't but it's ok. I love her fashion advice.

" ok so I found this really beautiful naby blue sparkly dress in the back of my closet. You should try it on. I think it will look stunning on you!" Rydel said as she shoved me into the bathroom to change. The dress is beautiful. It is long and has an open back to it..I think this is it. Now I just have to find shoes and jewelry. Rydel was going to do my hair for me too.

"wow Bree, you look gorgeous! And it's my dress, and you are wearing it for my brother, awkward haha" she laughed. She handed me some silver strappy shoes and made me sit down while she curled my hair and pinned it half up half down. after we had my make up done I took a good look in Ryder's full length mirror.

" I haven't looked this pretty since the day I married Josh." I said softly. I couldn't believe it. ecerything was perfect. I slipped on my favorite necklace that has Madeline's birthstone (ruby) in it with my birthstone (emerald). Found earrings to match and Rydel let me borrow a clutch.

" Delly are you sure I don't look too fancy? I mean we can't be going somewhere where I have to look this good?" I was concerned that this was going to be too much.

" Trust me Brianna. You are gonna thank me later" she said with a wink. " and please don't worry about Maddie. I think Rocky, Ellington and I are gonna take her to a movie and then maybe swim Or something. Tomorrow is Saturday so she gets to hang out with the cool kids" I am so happy that Rydel likes to hang out with Maddie.
