Chapter 27

Riker
Brianna and I headed home after the scare at the hospital. I am so happy that our baby is safe. But I didn't know what to do about her bedrest. She can't do it all herself and we still had a few shows to do before our break in September. When we got to the hotel I packed all of our things to load up on the bus. I decided to call my mom to see what ideas she had for helping Bree.

" hey mom" I said as she answered her phone.
" hey son how is Brianna?" She asked.
" well we got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the baby is ok and Brianna is ok. But bad news is the doctor said she must go on mandatory bedrest until she is at least 38 weeks which is August." I relayed my mom all the info the doctor gave us.
" oh son I am so sorry. Well we have a couple days off before we go right back to tour so why don't you and Brianna fly out to L.A and get settled then I will talk to your dad about figuring out who can help her and when. Poor girl."

I went online and bought our tickets home. The earliest flight was a red eye at 11pm so I booked it for the three of us. We had checked out of the hotel so we were just waiting on the bus until it was time to go to the airport.

" hey babe, you can lay in my bunk while we wait." I gestured her to the bunk and led her there.
" thank you Riker. I am sorry this is going to be so hard." She sobbed a bit. I wrapped my arms around her, wiping her tears with my thumbs as I kissed her forehead.
" we will get through this. Everything is going to be fine. I just want you to focus on staying on bedrest. I will be home until a few days after the Fourth of July and then we will get my mom or your mom to come stay with you and help. You need to accept the help too babe. It's important." I said to her as I helped her lay down. She snuggled up with my blue blanket and I could see her drift off to sleep. Maddie was in the back on the bus with Ross playing video games.
" hey Maddie. You have about two hours until we head to the airport. Make sure you are ready ok?" I told her.
" ok daddy! I am beating uncle Ross at Mario kart!" She said excitedly.
" oh good for you! Uncle Ross is the best at it! You must be even better!" I said and smiled as I walked back to the table and get a snack.

My mom and dad were talking with Rocky and Rydel outside the bus. They all came in and sat down at the table with me.

" so the plan is once we are on tour, I will go home and be with Bree. I called her mom and she is on a four month vacation to Australia so that isn't an option." My mom told us as I looked a little down about it."I love you and your little family Riker. We can't have this baby coming too soon and I will be there is she needs me. I will get your bedroom and Rydel's room organized and ready so Brianna and Maddie can stay at our house with me. But Maddie might want to be on tour with you so you will have to talk to Brianna about it." My mom finished. I got up and have her a hug. I could feel a couple tears coming from my eyes.
" thank you so much mom." I said. I decided to set an alarm on my phone and go lay down with Brianna for a bit. I was exhausted. I didn't get to sleep much the night before in the hospital. I am just so happy I have a family who is willing to help and support us.

Brianna
I woke up to Riker's phone alarm going off. I nudged him awake. I didn't realize he came in here.
" babe, it's time to get going to the airport." I said as I saw his eyes flicker open. I rolled over and kissed him. I still feel those sparks we had the first time we kissed. He put his hand on the back of my head and deepened the kiss. I pulled away after a little bit as we got up and realized our bus driver was already at the airport and all we had to do was get on the plane. We hugged everyone and said our goodbyes as we got our stuff off the bus and headed into the airport.

After we got on the plane Maddie fell asleep right away. Riker and I talked for a bit about what his mom offered to help with and I agreed. I wasn't going to risk my babies life because I have to much pride. We took off for LAX and soon enough Riker and I were both asleep.

We woke up as we were getting ready to land . Maddie had been up and watching a Disney movie on my iPad. We got off the plane and a had a driver take us home. Once we were home Riker was very strict with me. He made me lay on our sofa from the minute I walked through the door. As much as I know it's for the baby's safety, it kind of made me mad that I couldn't choose where I wanted to hangout. I must have had a look on my face because Riker came up to me with a question look on his face.

" what is wrong Brianna?" He asked.
" I just don't like being told I have to do something. It makes me feel like I am nothing to you." I said as I could feel the tears welling up. It brings back memories of how Josh treated me.
" Bree, that is not my intentions at all. I'm sorry I came across that way but it's to ensure the safety of you and the baby. You are not nothing to me. You are my wife and my best friend, I don't want you to think I would ever treat you how that jerk did." He said looking annoyed. He walked away to throw clothes in the laundry and get some breakfast on the table for Maddie. I don't want him to think I compare him to Josh. I know he isn't Josh but some little quirks he has sometimes like his overprotectiveness really hit a nerve with me.
I got up to use the restroom and I could hear the words before they came out of his mouth. " what are you doing?" He sternly said to me.
" Riker, I just have to use the restroom. I also want to change into some sweats so I am a little more comfortable. Please just stop. I will not out this baby is danger!" I yelled at him not meaning to. He backed off and went back to the kitchen. After I had returned from the bathroom and changing my clothes, he came in with a plate full of fruit, an omelette and a muffin.
" thank you" I said but he just turned away from me and went back to whatever he was doing. I feel horrible for snapping at him. I started crying. Riker came into the living room and sat on the couch with me.
" Maddie is going to come with me to meet the family at the house to help unload in a little bit. They are about a half hour away." He said almost monotone.
" look Riker, I am sorry I yelled. I feel really guilty about it. I a, just frustrated at the situation and you are the easiest target to take it out on. I am sorry. I love you." I apologized. He wrapped me in a hug and laid his head in my lap feeling the baby kick through my belly.
" I am sorry I come across as a jerk. I don't want you to think I don't trust your actions. I think we are both on edge today. How about you just rest a bit while I take Maddie to the band house and we will meet you here later?" He said " I love you too babe." He got up to take my plate and planted a passionate kiss on my mouth. I could feel the butterflies and I almost pushed the kiss too far when he pulled away smiling. " naughty naughty!" He said " remember no sexy time until they give it the ok later in this pregnancy!" He waved his pointer finger at me with a devilish grin on his face.
" I know, I know." I pouted. " you guys go have fun. I will see you later" I waved as Maddie and Riker walked out the door.
