Brianna

a week later...

After getting back into contact with Callista and Avery, I took all my bridesmaids with me, along with Stormie, Maddie and my mom, dress shopping so I could find my dress. Rydel was so excited that she had been looking at styles for me. She had this vision of a princess ballgown and I know that is not my style but I went along with it.

When end we got to the bridal shop Rydel went and picked a couple of her favorites for me to try on. For her amusement I did and I couldn't do the whole poofy thing. Never has been never will be, my style. I think she was very disappointed in that but at the same time, happy for me to try on more dresses. After many oohs and ahhs over many dresses I hadnt found the one. I stayed away from the mermaid style because it felt it was too form fitting but the sales lady there brought this certain one for me to try on. It was ivory in color which I didn't know I would like, it had cap sleeves and a semi sweetheart neckline that I loved. The mermaid aspect of it was not as prominent as I thought it would be either. the dress was form fitting until my thighs which allows for more movement and it didn't flare out too much at my feet. It was satin and there was no poof. The perfect balance of elegance and grace with a subtle sexiness to it. I was in awe and I think my entourage was too.

" Wow Bree, just wow!" Rydel was speechless. As were Callista and Avery.

" Mama you are beautiful!" Maddie exclaimed.

My mom and Stormie had the biggest happy tears I have ever seen. The bridal sales lady got me all "jacked up" aka with a veil and headpiece and everyone just knew this was my dress. I couldn't wait to walk down the aisle and see Riker's reaction. We had to get the dress hurried up and express made so that it would be here in time for our wedding. My two cousins had picked out their navy blue dresses with Rydel and Maddie picking a silver dress. They were allowed to pick the style as long as it was navy and floor length.

We we pulled into the band house driveway with Riker greeting us with big hugs.

" How did it go ladies?" He asked. " anyone care to give me hints as to what my bride is going to look like on our wedding day?" He snickered to them.

maddie made the motion of zipping her lips and throwing away the key. I smiled and Riker came over to me. He kissed me and said "I am sure you will look beautiful no matter what babe."

We we went back into the house ano to my surprise, our family, friends and extended family had gotten an engagement party thrown together for us. Riker know about it but kept it form me. We all had a lot of fun and partied way too late in the night. I had to be back to work Monday morning and Maddie had school.

christmas Time...

We are only a couple weeks away from the wedding but riker and I were not nervous about anything. Our intimacy was just getting stronger and our friendship was better than ever. Rydel literally took over the planning and since she has a great eye for detail I didn't mind. less pressure for me to be under.

we woke up Christmas morning in Colorado to lots of little kids screaming and playing. We came for a couple days to my family's cabin near the ski resort.it was a tradition to have Christmas here with all my cousins. a lot of my cousins are just a little older than Maddie so she was able to play with them and have fun. It was so hard for Brianna and I to get her to go to bed When she had been playing with them.
