Luffy Love (Luffy x Reader)

Chapter 32

6 hours later...

After stuffing his face, Luffy laid back down forcing you to join him. The others went to prepare stuff to leave. Luffy wanted to stay more but a break in the crazy wind storm finally came and the Straw hats knew they had to take advantage of that. 

Luffy laid on you, resting his head on your chest as you laid one arm on his back and used your other hand to pet Luffy's head. He slept soundly and you couldn't help but smile lovingly at him.

Oh Luffy, I was so worried. You need to stop worrying everyone so much. I'm glad you're okay. 

Zoro walked in and sat in a chair next to the bed you and Luffy were in. 

Zoro: "How is he doing?"

(Y/n): "Great."

You beamed at him. He smirks in reply. The two of you sat in a comfortable silence as you both watched Luffy sleep.

Zoro: "You know how important he is to all of us right?"

You raised a confused eyebrow at his question. Of course I do, why would he ask that?

(Y/n): "Of course I do, he is our captain after all. That means none of us would be here if it wasn't for him. Usopp told me the stories, Luffy is who we are devout to and who we all owe."

Zoro: "Good, then you know how important his dream is."

(Y/n): "Yes I do, he told me."

Zoro: "So you're on board then?"

(Y/n): *annoyed  "Why are you asking me this? I'm here aren't I?"

Zoro: "Yeah but your feelings for him keep clouding your belief in him, or do you not remember what happened below ground."

You looked away ashamed. He's right I was so worried about Luffy being hurt for a moment I forgot he could handle anything. The love for Luffy is tricky, I love him but it can't get in the way of the fact he is my captain and will be the king of the pirates.

(Y/n): "I'm sorry Zoro, you're right. I won't let it get in the way again, I swear."

Zoro and you stared into each other's eyes with determination and judgement. Then Zoro broke into laughter.

Zoro: "I already knew that."

(Y/n): *annoyed  "Then why did you ask me that!?"

Zoro: "I wanted you to know that too. You should get ready to go, the others are probably heading back soon to come get us."

You wrapped your arms around Luffy and brought him in closer to you with a tight but gentle squeeze. Luffy stirred and slowly opened his eyes. 

Luffy: *groggy  "Is it lunch time."

Zoro: "No but it is time to go."

Luffy buried himself deeper into your large chest.

Luffy: *muffled  "I don't wanna."

(Y/n): *flustered  "B-but Luffy the wind storm finally died down enough for us to move on to the next island, we have to."

Luffy turned to Zoro with a pout.

Luffy: "This was your idea wasn't it Zoro."

Zoro: "Me and Nami, yeah."

Luffy: "Jerk."

Zoro got in Luffy's face with anger.

Zoro: "It's not my fault you decided to sleep for 8 freaking days!"

Luffy: "Well I was tired, that doesn't mean I don't want to explore the rest of the island!"

Zoro: "Well we can't! We don't know how long the storm will rage on when it finally comes back!"

Luffy stared angrily at Zoro before pouting.

Luffy: *pouty  "You just don't want me to take (Y/n) on another date."

You face burned to life as your face turned a deep shade of red. Date?! He took me with him, Usopp, and Chopper to go on a date?! *laughs  Dork.

Zoro: "Oh shut up!"

Zoro had a slight tint of pink on his cheeks which made Luffy laugh. Eventually Nami, Robin, Chopper, and Usopp walked in.

Chopper: "What are you guys laughing about?"

Luffy: "Oh nothing. Is the ship ready to go?"

Nami: "Yup, all we're waiting for is you. You ready Luffy?"

Luffy: "Sure."

Luffy sat up on his own which surprised Chopper and made your heart flutter. Luffy then stood, this time making everyone in the room happy. You all made you way to the door with Luffy lagging behind. Just as you all were about to leave the room, you heard a thud. 

Zoro whipped around first and ran over to the noise. As you and the others turned, you saw Luffy on the floor with Zoro at his side lifting him up. You ran over with the others trailing and Chopper made his way to the front of everyone to get to Luffy.

Zoro: "Luffy what's wrong?!"

Nami: "Chopper is he okay?!"

Chopper listened to Luffy with his stethoscope. 

Chopper: "Is breathing is really shallow."

(Y/n): *teary  "What does that mean?!"

Chopper: "He is no condition to really do anything. I don't know what's wrong with him exactly but I can make a guess. Do you remember when Luffy had to use his gear three and two against Lucci at Enes Lobbie?"

Usopp: "Yeah, he almost lost! he was in terrible condition after that fight."

Chopper: "I think what (Y/n) devil fruit did wasn't exactly the he made him feel better or made his injuries go away long enough to fight, but instead it made him feel numb. He couldn't feel the pain and it forced his body to push through the injuries because of the effect. There is a condition where certain people born without the ability to feel pain, this condition makes it so they could have their arm cut off and they would keep going until the blood loss caught up with them."

Nami: "What does all that have to do with now?!"

Chopper: "It means as he felt nothing he took even more damage and then when the numb effect wore off it him all at once. He's exhausted and his body need lots and lots of rest. It will be awhile before he can fully bounce back. Zoro, do you mind caring him?"

Luffy: *pained  "N-no... I'm f-fine."

(Y/n): "No you're not Luffy! You need more time to rest."

Luffy: *pained  "I told you I'll be... o-kay... AUGH!"

Luffy tried to stand but the pain that shot through his body wouldn't allow him. Zoro caught Luffy and sat him up. 

Zoro: "Quit being stubborn. You're not okay, but you will be so let's go already."

Zoro picked Luffy up and put him on his back. Luffy squirmed trying to get off of Zoro. You could tell Luffy felt guilty for making everyone worry and that him being injured this badly was kind of you're fault. you felt bad but you didn't care he was alive and Chopper said he was going to be fine. Which meant he was going to be fine after time.

You reached a hand up to Luffy and caressed his cheek. He stopped fighting and looked into your eyes. With slight tears, you smiled lovingly at him and leaned in close to his face, and kissed his nose. 

(Y/n): "It's okay Luffy, get some more rest. Everyone will wait for you to get better."

Kind of a shit part. Sorry I'm struggling to figure out an ending but we'll get into the lovey stuff soon and then it will end. So bare with me.
