Luffy Love (Luffy x Reader)

Chapter 31

8 days later...

The sky above the windy city was dark but light from the sun was starting to caress the horizon as day was try to break through the night. Inside the room that contained the straw hats was all of the members sleeping  soundly surrounding their captain. As the day went by the worry and fear had hit an all time high amongst the members. This wasn't normal for them, they had never experienced a restless Luffy the way Law had after Marine Ford. And even that was an unnerving sight.

Luffy laid on his back unconcious and covered in bandages, at his feet rested Nami on her arms, Usopp on his hand held up on his elbow, and Chopper sprawled out on the bed. Zoro slept against a wall with his arms behind his head, Sanji slept in a chair with his head straight back. Robin laid uncovered in a bed to the right Luffy's, Franky laid on the ground sprawled out, and Brook laid on his side in a bed next to Robin's.

Then there was you, you slept on you arms by Luffy's face with tear stains on your cheeks. 

Silence filled the room with nothing but light snoring from all the sleeping pirates. Worry had even taken hold of them in there sleep not allowing the members to sleep as they normally would. 

Light barely filled the room creating a small glow to fill the room. One member of the straw hat pirates began to flutter their eyes open. The ceiling met their gaze, they were stunned and unsure of where they were.

Luffy looked left and saw you sleeping soundly. He gives a small smile before taking a look at the rest of the room. His crew surrounded him clearly to give him support, his smile grew even bigger. He attempts to sit up but pain shocks him back to laying down.

The movement from the bed jolted you awake. Panic hit you as you looked around before resting your eyes on Luffy. He had his eyes shut tight in pain, your mind raced that he was in trouble.

(Y/n): "Chopper something is wrong with Luffy!"

Chopper: *groggy  "Huh?"

Chopper sat up quickly and your outburst caused the rest of the crew to jolt awake as well. They all stood and surrounded him within an instant. 

Chopper: "What's happening?!"

(Y/n): "I don't know he was moving and now he looks pained!"

Chopper: "Okay Usopp I need more pain meds and bandages. Nami bring me my suture kit."

Zoro: "What's happening to him Chopper?!"

Chopper: "I don't know, something must be more injured than I thought."

Nami: *teary  "Is he going to be okay?!"

Luffy: *pained  "Y-yes I'm gonna be fine."

Chopper: "Yes exactly he should... be... fine?"

The whole crew went silent as they store at Luffy. He stared back with tired eyes and smiled.

Luffy: "Luffy is going to be just fine."

Tears sprung to the crews eyes before jumping toward Luffy.

The whole crew: "LUFFY!!"

You all tackled him lightly as some cried and others watched in joy. Luffy giggled.

Luffy: "It's nice to see you guys too, can I have a little help?"

You all got off of him and Sanji helped Luffy sit up slowly. Pain filled his face the entire process causing worry to fill the room again.

Robin: "Maybe he does need more pain meds."

Chopper: "Maybe but I'm not sure they're gonna do much. I'm still not sure what's wrong with him."

Luffy: *pained  "There's nothing wrong with me I'm-- URGH! F-fine."

Sanji: "You're clearly not fine! Chopper there has to be something you can do?"

Zoro: "He's right, it's not normal. Eight days of being unconcious and unbelievable pain? He's been in worse fights than this."

Luffy: "EIGHT DAYS?!"

Usopp: "Yeah you've been unconcious for eight days."

Luffy: "I've missed eight days of food?! Sanji I need eight days of food now!"

Sanji: "Well that was a normal response."

(Y/n): "It's because of me... isn't it?"

The crew looked to you as tears slowly rolled down your cheeks. You couldn't bring yourself to look any of them in the eyes. Your heart ached and your throat felt too swollen to say another word.

Luffy: "No way, there's no way. Because I said I was fine."

Nami: "But Luffy your really not."

Brook: "If she did use her powers on him maybe the effect of them ended up doing something internally."

Luffy: "I said no."

(Y/n): *crying  "I should have done something more to fight him. I... I was too weak and just relied on all of you to save me *hic  And now Luffy is all messed up and he might never *hic"

Luffy: "I SAID NO!"

His yell echoed throughout the room causing the whole room to fill with silence and tension.

Chopper: "But Luffy... there's a chance she's... right."

Luffy: "Nu-uh."

The whole crew: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO?!"

Luffy: "I was unconcious and all beat up, then the pain was gone and I felt good. So I got up and I could fight again, and then it went away and I hurt even worse. That's all I remember."

Luffy finished with crossing his arms. You stared wide eyed at him.

Did my power actually help him like I wanted it to?

Zoro: "Well... that makes sense then."

Everyone turned to him in confusion.

Zoro: "She used it exactly as Luffy told her to, this just has to be the after effects of changing the fruits power in an opposite way."

Usopp: "Wow that was really smart of you Zoro."

Zoro turned to Usopp and gave him a scary look.

Zoro: "You want to say that again?"

Usopp: *scared  "No I'm sorry."

Nami tackled you in a hug and you caught her in shock.

Nami: "Good job (Y/n). You saved our idiot captain."

She beamed at you as tears brimmed the far corners of her eyes. Your shocked expression quickly changed to sorrow as tears began to pour from your eyes. 

Luffy: "Saaannnjjjjiiiii foooood nooooowwwww!"

Sanji: "Alright alright calm down."

Franky: "Welcome back captain."

Nami: *whispered  "Aren't you gonna hug him?"

You looked at her as she gives you a wink. The others were surrounding him as they celebrated the awakening of their captain. You rushed past Nami and threw your self onto him.

(Y/n): *crying  "Luffy I was so worried."
