4: I can get away...

*There is are some Point of View changes in this chappy*

I am standing outside the surgery with Leo. Luke and Ashton went off to the meeting at 1 and it is now 4. The time that Luke is meant to be meeting me here. After they left I took Leo to the park. Not the play park the park with the lake. He will not go anywhere near a playground. This concerns me as he will not interact with other children at all so what will it be like when he has to go to school?

"We will give Luke five more minutes Lolo to get here, if he's not here by then we will go in without him" I say directly to Leo. He just nods in response. Well at least he understood me.

I hear footsteps and suddenly Luke is running round the corner. But what shocks me is that Ashton is following.

"Ok so how did it go, why did it take so long and not that I mind but why is Ashton here?" I ask Luke all in the same breathe. Ashton smiles at me. I smile back.

"I will explain all that later but c'mon we're late" Luke says still out of breathe from the running.

"Oh yeah" With that I hand Leo to Luke and walk inside.

"Hello this is Leo Hemmings. We are here for Dr.Stephens." Luke says to the lady at the front desk.

You probably think it's weird that Leo has the same last name as both me and Luke because after all he does have a different dad, and he did used to have a different one: Simmons. But because Luke is his carer now his name has been changed to Hemmings. I like it that way we feel more like a family.

We are taken straight through to a little room a lot smaller than the testing one. Ashton comes in with us. Luke obviously has a lot of trust in him.

"Hello again Luke, Becca, Leo and who does this happen to be?" Dr. Stephens asks us.

"This is Ashton a friend" Luke replies. Katie doesn't object.

"Right OK so I suppose there's bad news and some good... which would you like first?" Katie asks us.

"The good please" I answer. Lets keep it positive for now.

"Ok then, well Leo does need glasses for everyday use..." I thought this was meant to be good news? "...but the colourblindness will not effect his everyday life as we assume he has had it from birth. Also from the tests we can assume which lessons he will be good at. His... condition will only effect certain areas of his learning."

"Ok but what is his condition" Luke asks.

"We think he has Aspergers Syndrome but he also has some symptoms from PDD-NOS" she explains. All of us look at her with blank expressions.

"And what the hell is that?" I ask rather rudely. Luke gives me 'the look'.

"It is on the Autism spectrum" My face drops as does Lukes and Ashtons. Everyone knows what that is. We always knew it was a possibility, but we never actually thought Lolo had it.

I can't help it I burst into tears. Not Lolo, what did he do to deserve that?

As Luke has Leo in his arms he can't comfort me. But Ashton can and he does. He wraps his big arms around me and pulls me into his chest. I just sob and sob. Our battle trying to get Leo to communicate and socialise. It wasn't worth it. He will never ever be properly able to do either of those things.

Ashton pulls me closer so I am sitting on his lap trying to calm me down.

*Ashtons POV*

She just burst into tears. Honestly she looked so weak and helpless.
