2."I'm so happy for you!!" But what about me?
We are just sitting here in the living room waiting for the phone to ring. Yesterday we attended Leos session with Dr. Stephens to see if they can work out whats wrong with him. That sounds horrible!? Of course theres nothing wrong with little Leo. Hes perfect but he still has... a few problems. Yesterday... I suppose you could say it went well after the corn field 'incident'. At the special session everything went as planned and Leo co-operated perfectly:

"Leo Hemmings" The nurse read out.
This is it I thought to myself. I take a deep breath before following Luke into the enclosed room, Leo sitting on his hip.
"Hello there I am Doctor Stephens" Said a youngish lookind woman sitting at the desk at the cornor of the room. I don't know why but I was expecting a man?
"Please take a seat" Doctor Stephens motions to the rickety chairs placed in front of her desk.
I sit down before glancing around the room. In the far corner there is some scales with a height measure next to it. In the middle there is a large play pen designed for little kids. Everywhere else there is toys. Trucks, diggers, dolls, barbies, tractors, tools, cuddly animals, cars, and then theres a huge stack of picture books. Everything looks friendly except... The machine in the corner. Its huge!!! It was binoculars attached, a screen and a keyboard. I wonder what it was?
Suddenly there is a form being placed into my hands.
"You have to sign it to say you are one of Leos carers" Luke whispers in my ear, realizing that I had been away with the fairies. Its not a rare thing for me.
I look at the form and sign in the correct box before realising Luke had already filled out the contact details and all that crap. I must of been thinking longer than intended! I hand the form back to Dr. Stephens.
"Now please call me Katie" Dr. Stephens speaks up.
"Right, now I realise this will be very daunting for you being such young carers and not bring to any of these types of sessions before" I think this would be daunting for anyone! Also we may not have been to any of 'these' types of sessions before but we have been to thousands of others! I do not however voice my thoughts.
"I will begin by explaining the different procedres to you. Right first I will take Leos height and weight just to make sure he is a normal healthy 3 year old" No shit sherlock, take one look at him and anyone can realise he's healthy! God! Again I do not voice my thoughts but I can tell Luke is thinking exactly the same thing by the look on his face. Like brother like sister.
"...after that we will test Leos imagination by giving him toys to play with and seeing what he does with them, then we will give him some picture books and interpret what he does with them: whether he reads the words, looks at the pictures and how he holds the book. We will then get out some board games and see if he can play them properly and again what he does with them. The next thing we do isn't very pleasant. We put him in the play pen and give him one toy of his choice. We then leave him to see how long he takes to get bored of that toy or loose interest and then how long it takes for him to start crying and we will see who he calls out for..." At this point I interupt. I can't help myself
"You are telling me that its going to help find out whats wrong with him by leaving Leo to cry?" I say rather rudely.
"Yes I am. It will help in many ways. We will see who he is most close to and if he focus' on one of you or the both of you. Also I will be able to predict how he will do at school by how interested he is by the toy and how he gets involved" Katie seems a bit taken aback by my response to this particular test.
