[Brielle’s POV] - A few weeks on from New Years Day.
So far 2009 was going well, things were still a bit cloudy with my feelings but I was managing to deal with them, especially now I knew I could rely on Austin.
Things were still a little unclear between me and him but I tried to ignore it and just keep the friendship how it always had been, for his sake more than anything else.
From what I’d heard, Adam was working on new tracks for his first signed album that was upcoming, he’d already been to quite a few meetings with the company about the style of his music and so on. I believe there had been some initial conflict between those who had signed Adam and the main managers of the record label. The managers were wanting to take him into professional studios and polish him up to become a well known figure, someone Adam wasn’t, but that was soon dismissed since Adam had been signed for the sole reason he was making this brilliant music and he was doing it on his own, whatever Adam had, he was making the most of it at home in his basement.

He was often reduced to doing office work or doing some of the driving around the depot because of the slipped discs in his spine which caused him great pain. I knew Dad would have loved to be more active in his job but it was best he didn’t over exert himself, his back was fragile and any strain on it could cause him to be bed bound for several days. Despite that Dad still loved his job at the depot, it had been a big help in getting back his self esteem after Mum died, and that alone had to be worth its weight in gold.
And then there was me. Happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time!
For once in a good few years things were finally beginning to look brighter, not just for myself but for the people around me, the friends and families I cared most for.
Of course, I had spoken too soon...
