In 1963 year at Toro village, when Gaeul's grandma was a 18 year old girl named Bom, she was studying in Toro high school peacefully by herself in her classroom as it is autumn weather today. After school later, Bom's grandfather took Bom to the forest with beautiful flowers around Bom like a fairy world.
Bom's grandfather: "Bom! Come here and I will show you how to plant a sugar maple tree!"
He called out.

Bom looked at her grandpa when he called her out. Then her grandfather will teach her how to plant a sugar maple tree.
Bom's grandfather: "Choose a location carefully so the roots can spread its branches freely." "So you have to avoid the flow of traffic when planting a tree."
As he begins to dig the soil up and to plant a tree.
Bom's grandfather: "We must fertilize this tree and stake is the most important thing to help the tree stand."
After that, Bom and her grandfather walked together in the forest place. Bom was reading the book called Timeless Tale while walking next to her grandpa.
Bom's grandfather: "What is it that you're reading?"
As her grandfather asked her.
Bom: "I'm reading a book about the dead people can turn into a tree after being buried, how cool is that?"
She replied.
Bom's grandfather: "Don't read too much novel!" "Why can't you read nonfiction book instead of childish book?"
He complained, as both continuing to stroll in the forest. (Bom's narrative POV.) In the next day when I have school today, I can't study well because I'm falling love with Kim Chu Seok who goes to same high school as me, not only that, he sat next to me in my same classroom. He is so handsome but I'm too shy to talk with him first.
Chu Seok: "Can I borrow your spare pen?"
As he asked me a question while we were sitting next to each other in our classroom amongst the students. My face went blushed when he talks to me and he rarely talked to me, this is so crazy.
Chu Seok: "Bom?"
He repeated, as he continuing to stare at me when he was talking to me.
Bom: "Y.... Yes.... Of course you can...."
As I nervously stuttered with my blush face, I slowly lend him my pen for him to borrow it.
