Chapter 6

They spent the night in the building, but they hardly slept at all. They were in separate rooms so Toni couldn't see what Sherlock was doing. She spent the whole night thinking. What was she going to do? If a man like Sherlock was running from this guy he must be bad news. She got up and walked around the building. It looked like an old school. What happened to it? Why wasn't anyone here anymore? She walked into a room that said 'computer room'. She walked over to one and turned it on. Nothing. She worked with the wires for about an hour then finally got it to work. She typed in "Sherlock Holmes" and immediately found a bunch of headlines saying "Death of Fake Genius" "Lies Lies Lies" "The Truth Behind the Hat" she read through a few of them. She kept seeing the name John Watson. She searched him and found his blog. The latest one he wrote was about a year ago. It went a little bit like this:

'Living life alone

It's quieter now. The flat seems empty even though his things are scattered everywhere. I can't bare to give them away. I wanted to sell his violin but couldn't bring myself to do it. Sometimes when I'm laying in bed I can hear him playing it, but when I rush into the room I remember he's gone. I visit his grave everyday, sometimes I fall asleep there. I've recently got a job over at Scotland Yard as a consulting detective, but I'm not as good as Sherlock. He showed me things that I never noticed. I observe thinks better now. Sometimes I wonder if he would be proud of me.'

Toni read through it, "oh god Sherlock what have you done?" She said to herself. The poor man, he thinks Sherlock is actually dead. She exited out of the site and looked up other stuff. She checked the amber alerts seeing if her name popped up. Nothing yet, which made her angry. It's been practically 2 days since she left and no one has contacted the police? She turned off the computer and stomped out of the room. Her eyelids were beginning to grow heavy so she headed back to her room and fell asleep on a couch, only to constantly be awoken by nightmares.

---------------------------------------

Sherlock didn't sleep at all, he sat on a chair with his hands together under his chin. He was thinking about John and what would happen to him if he didn't stop Sebastian. He thought about how clueless John was that he didn't know a man bent on revenge was in the same building as him. He thought about what he asked Toni to do. They didn't know her face. But did they? No, they couldn't have. Sherlock remembered that a man was watching him when he first met Toni. Did he see her? No he didn't. Did he? No. Sherlock's mind was debating back and forth. He about to relax when he heard Toni stomping into her room.

"Sounds like someone's throwing a tantrum." He smiled to himself and continued to think.

~next morning~

Sherlock knocked on the door of the room Toni was staying in. A couple minutes later she slowly opened the door.

"Ready?" Sherlock asked her.

She nodded, "y-yeah." They walked out of the school and into the streets in silence. Sherlock turned up his coat collar and moved his scarf closer to his face, trying to stay hidden. They were about 5 blocks away when Sherlock stopped.

"Okay, thus is close enough." He looked down at Toni, "do you think you can sneak in without being seen?"

She nodded, "I have my ways."

"The door might be locked."

"Don't worry, I got this." She gave him a mischievous smile and started to walk away.

"Toni!" He called to her.

She looked back, "yeah?"

Sherlock's face softened a little, "be careful." Oh god, he actually cared about her. Toni turned away before he could see the terrified expression on her face. She hurried down the streets with her head down. She reached Baker Street, she looked up and saw the metal letters on the green door saying '221B'. She let out a shaky sigh.

"Here we go." She took out a bobby pin from her hair and put it in the lock. She looked around as she finally got the door to open, she stepped in quietly closing the door behind her without making a sound. Her heart was pounding as she walked up the stairs. Every step she took the more scared she got. What would be waiting for her at the top? She looked behind her, considering the thought of just running away like she always did. No. Not this time. She wanted to prove she was brave. She reached the top to find the door to a flat opened. On a chair lied a blonde haired man just staring out the window not even noticing her. She immediately knew it was John. She took another step which made the floor creak, she froze.

John looked over at her, "who are you?" __________________________
