Chapter 14

Sherlock got into Mycroft's expensive black car as it pulled up a few blocks from him.

"Glad you decided to except my offer." The older Holmes said almost mockingly.

"Not now, Mycroft, I need to think." Sherlock stared out the tinted window trying keep his mind focused on Moran. Mycroft sighed and went back to the newspaper he was reading.

They drove for about two hours untill they finally got to the place where Sherlock would be safe temporarily. Sherlock scolded himself for being so stupid. Of course! He would by safe at Mycroft's (once both of their) house. Considering Mycroft was practically the British government it would be almost impossible for Sebastian to track him here. Sherlock got out of the car and headed towards the white mansion. He opened one of the huge doors and walked in then turned to his brother,

"I need a computer." He told him. Mycroft pointed down the hallway,

"That room over there." Sherlock nodded and quickly headed towards the room. He walked in remembering it was his old room, which now has been turned into an office. Sherlock closed the door behind him, sat down at the desk, and turned on Skype.

Toni spent most of her time in her room, as always. It was summer so she was free from school. Toni sat at her work bench by the window and worked on some wires, trying to fix a small broken remote control car. She was so focused in what she was doing she barely heard her little sister banging on her door.

"TONIAAAA!" She whined.

Toni sighed, "Enter." Maddison walked in and put her hands on her hips,

"Mommy and daddy don't love you."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. I heard them talking. They said they was disappointed."

"Were." Toni corrected her 8 year old sister.

"What?" The younger narrowed her eyes.

"It's not 'was' it's 'were'." Toni said slightly annoyed by her bad grammar.

"It doesn't matter! You're a freak and no one likes you." She stuck out her tongue. Toni sighed,

"You think I don't know that?"

"I think you need to be remembered."

"Reminded." She corrected again. Little Maddison gave a groan and stormed out. Toni heard her scream as her brothers ran down the hall firing their Air-Soft guns at each other.

"Idiots." Toni mumbled and went back to work, but not with as much interest as before.

---------------------------------------

Toni was laying off her bed upside down watching Netflix when her laptop made the sound that told her someone wanted to video chat.

"Who DARES to call me while watching Doctor Who?" She growled to herself as she hit the X button on her PS3 controller. She lazily slid off her bed and sat at her desk, staring at the computer screen. A name she was not familiar with was flashing in front of her. She let it ring out and read the message that the unknown person sent:

'We need to talk -SH'

SH...

Did she know anyone with those initials?

SH...

Oh! Sherlock Holmes! Was it really him? The feeling of excitement was immediately replaced with anger as she remembered the last time she saw him. He friggin sent her away without hesitating! Or even telling her in the first place. She moved her mouse over the call button, hesitating before clicking. She quickly put her thumb over the webcam, just in case. Sherlock's face showed up almost immediately.

"Toni, could you please remove your thumb?" He demanded sighing. Toni moved her hand away from the camera and glared right at it,

"You..." She growled.

"Before you say anything, let me explain-"

"You sent me home! You made me go back to these peasants!" She nearly shouted.

"Shhh..."

"I thought you needed me!"

"I did," Sherlock explained, "I had to send you back home because if you stayed with me any longer it would be easier for anyone to find me." Toni folded her arms and leaned back in her chair,

"Why are you calling me? How did you figure out my username?"

"It was quite simple, really. It took me not even three minutes to deduce your name was 'Edison_follower42'." Sherlock told her with a smirk that said, 'really? That's the /best/ you could come up with?'

"I called you because I may need your help-"

"Clearly."

"-with keeping me updated on how John is doing." He looked down. Toni was silent for a moment,

"I'm not sure how much I can do. I'm way over here in California." She answered.

"I know, I know. Just do what you can do. Anything." He pleaded. Toni nodded,

"Ok, for you." She tried to give him a comforting smile, not one of sympathy. He didn't like it when people were sympathetic towards him, he didn't understand why people wasted time caring. Yet here he was trying to do what ever he could to keep John safe.

"Thank you." He smiled, looking almost relived. He moved his eyes towards the TV screen that was still paused on the episode Doomsday. He smirked and looked back at Toni,

"Alright, I'll go now. But if this is the last time I get to say it... Rose Tyler I-" then he ended the call. Toni stared at her laptop with her jaw dropped,

"D-did you just... Just..."
