Wednesday and Enid sat in their usual booth at the Weathervane, the gentle hum of chatter and the comforting aroma of roasted coffee beans filling the air.

“You know,” Enid began, swirling her coffee with a spoon, “I’m really going to miss this place. The smell of coffee, the cozy vibes... everything about it.” She took a sip, her eyes crinkling as she smiled.

Wednesday, who was seated across, regarded Enid over the rim of her black coffee.
“We still have a few months before we graduate, Enid. You might want to pace your sentimentality.”

Enid leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand.
“But seriously, have you thought about what’s next? Like... where you’re going for college?”

Wednesday placed her cup down.
“I’ve given it some thought. Journalism seems like the logical choice for me. It combines my love for uncovering truths and my penchant for writing.”

Enid’s eyes lit up, and she let out an excited squeal.
“Oh my gosh! Please tell me you’re considering Stanford!”

Wednesday raised a brow at her enthusiasm.
“It’s one of the options I’ve been researching. Though I haven’t made a final decision.”

Enid’s smile grew wider, and she leaned even closer.
“You have to pick Stanford. Do you know why? Because I’m going there!”

Wednesday tilted her head slightly, her dark eyes narrowing in mild surprise.
“You’re attending Stanford?”

“Yup!” Enid said, practically bouncing in her seat. “That’s what Yoko and I have been planning. We’re both going to Stanford together.”

Wednesday’s expression softened, though her tone remained even.
“And what field of study have you chosen?”

“Fashion design!” Enid beamed, clearly proud of her decision.

Wednesday nodded thoughtfully. “That’s a good choice for you.”

“I know, right?” Enid said, practically glowing. “And Yoko’s doing the same program. We’ve already started planning how we’ll design our future clothing line together!”

Wednesday’s lips curved into the faintest hint of a smile. “It seems the two of you have thought this through rather extensively.”

Enid smirked, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
“Do I sense a hint of jealousy in your voice, Ms. Addams?”

Wednesday’s brow furrowed ever so slightly.
“No,” she replied with calm precision. “In fact, I’m happy for you. Truly.”

Before Enid could quip back, Wednesday reached across the table, taking her hand with affection.

“I’ll always support you, no matter where you go or what you do. Your happiness is important to me.”

Enid’s teasing smirk softened into a warm smile.
“We’ll support each other,” she said, giving Wednesday’s hand a gentle squeeze. “But I still think you’re a teensy bit jealous.”

Wednesday withdrew her hand and sipped her coffee. “Finish your drink, Enid.”

Enid laughed brightly. “You’re so predictable,” she teased.

Then her gaze lingered on Wednesday, her heart full as they continued to chat about their futures and everything in between.

Tyler sat slouched at his desk, absently tapping his pen against the wooden surface as he waited for the teacher to arrive.

The chatter of students filled the room, punctuated by laughter and the occasional rustle of paper. His gaze wandered to the door just as it swung open.
