Chapter XIII
Annabeth cautiously followed Katniss down the hallway, finally stopping at the auditorium. Stepping in, she suddenly doubted her instincts. Was it safe to come here, she thought silently, there are some villains who can change form. What if this isn't really Katniss.
Her doubts quickly faded away when she saw the crew sitting with their legs hanging over the front of the stage. Annabeth smiled at the familiar faces of seven characters she'd grown to love.
The first to speak was the 17-year-old girl on the left. Hermione Granger's eyes widened as Katniss and Annabeth walked in together, "Annabeth? Is that you?"
Annabeth snorted, "No! It's a green pig!"
Jack Starbright's red hair fell down to her shoulders as she stood, "Yes, because every green pig wears jeans and bright orange t-shirts."
Maximum Ride grinned, "It's the latest pig fashion trend! Or did news not spread to the Big UK fast enough?"
The crew laughed as they stood to greet the newcomer. Annabeth hugged everyone, happy to know that she was not on this journey alone. Slowly, she brought up the courage to mention the thought that had been nagging at her ever since Kronos showed up at the camp.
"So obviously the Book Attack Prophecy's started."
Susan set down her own archery set next to Katniss's, "The first attack was in the Harry Potter series, followed by mine, the Nicholas Flamel, and the Maximum Ride series at almost the same time."
Sadie Kane continued, " Then came my series and Alex Rider, followed by the Sister's Grimm and The Hunger Games."
Sabrina Grimm sighed, "Then came your series, which marks the 9th series to be attacked. So yeah, the Book Attack thingy."
Katniss, "Now we need a way to get back."
Sophie Newman growled, "Okay I'm confused. What the heck is the 'Book Attack Prophecy'."
Annabeth explained, reciting the words she'd memorized years ago, "The evil ones are tired and sick, of getting beaten by their own trick. Join forces they will and attack nine books, wrecking havoc with terrible looks. The ones who escape will stop the fall, the ones who escape will save us all."
Sophie, "And that extremely weird paragraph would mean...?"
Katniss, "In basic terms, we're under attack."
Chapter XIV
Too late did Hazel realize that sitting in the middle of a hallway was NOT a good idea during school hours.
The bell rang when her group was just getting ready to set their clue. They quickly moved to the closest, childless room; the cafeteria.
Hazel knelt down and placed her diamond next to the vending machine. She had sudden doubts leaving her last hope in the room. She knew her friends, and none of them would willingly come to this room, what with the smell.
She stood up and followed Tonks out when the hallways were clear. They began to search; anything unusual that would help them find the other groups of characters. They soon gave up, though, as it should have been noticeable from the start.
Hazel began to consider the short blackout that had occurred while she was creating her diamond clue. Could it be a message from Leo? Or was it just a mistake of the janitors or even one of the characters in Leo's group?
She soon began to develop a headache from the thoughts. Hazel continued down the hall behind Tonks, listening for a reassuring sound. The only things she could hear were kids in their music and P.E. classes. Why is everyone in this stupid world so loud?
She felt like she should know something. There had to be something she had overlooked. Something that had been hidden so well that it was even hard for them. Somebody had to have laid out something!
Nothing seemed to be working. Nobody had left a clue. They'd searched the courtyards, classrooms, closets, and bathrooms. That only let the hallways, and so far there wasn't a thing. Lucy and Angel were talking about manipulating minds, searching underwater, blah, blah, blah, but nothing seemed to reveal anything. It was as if everyone was hiding the clues so well that her team of spirits was just to dense to find them.
The group was ready to give up. They'd searched high and low but nothing seemed to give a hint about their friends' whereabouts.
They walked down another hallway, though they had begun feeling utterly defeated. That is, until every water fountain in the school exploded.
Chapter XV
When the bell rang, Thalia screamed in unison with the rest of her group, afraid that the demon P.E. students would run up the bleachers to kill them. To the contrary, the twelve year olds seemed to just stroll their way out of the room without a care in the world.
The girls had been trying to brainstorm ways to contact the others, but were drawing nothing. They knew they couldn't just come out with it. This was a real world, with real people who may not take fairy tale characters lightly. Plus, the villains could follow them into the world at any time. They were probably already there.
Thalia sighed, thinking of things that may remind her friends of her. Hunting, lightning, and forest. Hunting, lightning, and forest. Jason was lightning too. She could try to contact him. But he wouldn't understand it. Thalia knew Jason, and he was extremely ignorant.
That left hunting and the forest. Foxface was a hunter too, so it might get a hold of Katniss as well. Ginny, Ella, and Ms. Jones, though, were just sneaks. No hunting in them. She made her decision.
"We can try to give some sort of hunting sign." Thalia tried, "It may not help anyone but Foxface and me, but it's worth a shot."
Foxface pondered, "That's not a bad idea. Plus, for all we know, this may have to do with the Book Attack Prophecy."
Ella frowned, "What's that?"
Ginny explained, "The Book Attack Prophecy was a reading by Abraham in the Nicholas Flamel World. Thirteen years ago, he explained that nine book worlds would be attacked by their antagonists. The only way the fictional community would be saved was if some of the main characters from each story were to escape into the outer realm, or where we are now."
Foxface, "So each series started installing enough escape pods in secret areas of their worlds to have an way out if an attack were to happen. The problem was that the antagonists heard of the prophecy and built their own pods to follow us if we were to escape. Of course, THEY managed to create the better technology and are able to see the other antagonists in the reading realm. Thankfully we managed to convince some of the temporary antagonists from my story onto our side, or things could have gotten much worse."
Thalia growled, "Hold on a minute. What 'temporary antagonists'?"
Foxface grinned, "Oh, you know. Cato. Clove. Those people. They escaped with us."
Ella whimpered, "Well that makes me a little nervous."
Thalia sighed, "We can't worry about that right now. First we need to start sending out signs. We can't find each other unless we know who the hosts are."
Ms. Jones chuckled, a rare pleasure from her, "Well here's a bright idea! Maybe we should find out who our own host is..."

Hey everyone! I HAVE 11 READS NOW! I feel accomplished :)
Anyways, I'm working on a pages version of the story that I can print out and put in iBooks and I'm interested in putting reviews on the back cover, so if you're into that sorta thing, leave a review as a comment. I'd like it to be around two paragraphs or so. That way I can read it through and quote the parts that I really want on the back cover.
Don't forget to vote, comment, and tell your friends!
Luv y'all,
Maddie <3
