LONG VERSION
NAYEON'S POV
I was sitting in my office dining area, eating lunch and reading emails on my tablet when suddenly a loud bang at the door echoed across the room.
The noise startled me so much that i almost jumped out of my seat, shouting in surprise.
"Ms. Hwang! I told you to knock before entering!" I snapped, my head whipping to the door, expecting my secretary to appear.
But to my surprise, it wasn't my secretary standing there—it was Hans. She stood just outside the living area, her left hand gesturing towards the door as she explained that her secretary was outside, on her desk.
I was taken aback by her sudden visit.
I hadn't expected her here.
It had been months since she was her, and this was the first time she had come by since resigning."Sorry about the door. I'll call a repairman to replace it. I think i broke it." She muttered, walking towards me in the dining area.
My gaze locked on her.
Why does she have to be so effortlessly attractive?
She was dressed simply in a plain white T-shirt, beige trousers, and her signature Chuck Taylor shoes—but somehow, she still managed to take my breath away.
"Why are you here?" I asked, finally snapping out of my daze after staring at her for what felt like an eternity.
"Oh, should I leave then?" she asked, raising an eyebrow and gesturing toward the door.
"No! I mean... I didn't expect you to visit," I mumbled, cursing myself inwardly for sounding so stupid.
"I went to your parents' house, but your sister said you left early. So I came straight here to return this," she said, handing me a paper bag.
"It's your heels. I forgot to bring them back when I dropped you off last night," she added, her eyes scanning the kitchen as she spoke.
"Do you still have coffee?" she asked, not even looking at me.
I stood up to walk to the coffee maker, but as I reached for the cup at the devider, I gasped.
She suddenly grabbed my hand, stopping me.
The touch felt like an electric shock.
"Let me," she whispered in my ear, her mint breath sending me shiver down my spine.
I froze, my heart racing. I looked at her, and she was smiling, as if she knew exactly what she was doing to me.
I made my way back to the dining area, my body trembling uncontrollably.
Jesus, what is it about her?
Why does she have this effect on me? I wondered as I sat down, trying to compose myself.
"You look beautiful today, but you shouldn't go outside with your back exposed." I snapped my head and my eyes widening as i looked at her walking past me and went straight toward the living area, settling comfortably on the sofa, leaving me alone in the dining room, flabbergasted. What the hell!
"Are you here just to annoy me or what?" I asked, walking back to my desk after finishing my lunch.
I could see her glance up briefly as I settled into my swivel chair.
"I came to return your heels," she replied, her eyes still fixed on the tv.
I rolled my eyes, deciding not to argue.
There was no point—if I did, we'd just end up bickering again like what we did before.
