NO ONE'S POV

Nayeon was in the middle of a serious discussion with her new business partner in her office when Hans suddenly barged in without knocking.

Both Nayeon and her new stopped mid-conversation, their heads snapping towards the door, frowns etched on their faces.

"Oh, you've got a visitor." Hans murmured, her brows furrowing as Nayeon silently signaled her to step outside but Hans, as usual, ignored the cue.

Instead, her eyes fixed on the man seated across Nayeon's desk.

"What are you doing here, Miss DeBourbon?" Nayeon asked in a professional tone, her expression carefully neutral.

At work, Nayeon was always composed and businesslike, especially during meetings. She had mastered the art of compartmentalizing her personal and professional life.

Her relationship with Hans was a well-guarded secret in the corporate world, where neither friends nor family knew the truth.

The pretense worked well, especially since their joint project provided a perfect excuse for their frequent appearances together.

But now, Hans's unexpected intrusion was testing that balance.

"Miss DeBourbon, if you have nothing important to discuss, I suggest you to leave." Nayeon said firmly, her attention shifting back to the papers on her desk.

"Who are you?" Hans suddenly asked, her gaze narrowing at the man across from Nayeon.

Nayeon's head snapped up, tension rippling through her.

"Miss DeBourbon." Nayeon began, but her girlfriend was already approaching the desk.

"And who are you?" The man countered, his tone cool and confident, matching Hans's intensity.

"I asked you first." Hans shot back without hesitation.

The man stood, exuding an air of authority.

"I'm Kim Mingyu, Nayeon's new business partner." He declared, meeting Hans' glare head-on.

"What project are you working on?" Hans asked sharply, her eyes now locked on Nayeon, who avoided her gaze.

Hans's temper flared. She hadn't been told about this new partnership, and the secrecy stung.

"That's none of your concern. If I were you, I'd leave now." Mingyu interjected smoothly.

Hans turned her fiery glare back to Mingyu.

"Excuse me? Did you just tell me to leave? Do you even know who you're talking to?" Hans' asked, pointing to herself in disbelief.

"Should I?" Mingyu replied, his voice dripping with mockery.

"Okay, that's enough!" Nayeon's voice sliced through the tension before it could escalate further.

"This dude needs to leave so we can finish our discussion, Nay." Mingyu added, his use of the nickname making Hans's jaw tightened.

'Nay? Not CEO Im? Miss Im? What the hell?!' Hans fumed silently.

"I'm not leaving. He should leave." Hans shot back, her tone firm and defiant.

Nayeon sighed deeply, recognizing a stalemate when she saw one.

"Miss DeBourbon, please wait in the living room. I'll finish this meeting shortly." Nayeon said wearily.

Hans's eyes flicked between Nayeon and Mingyu, her glare lingering on the latter.

"Fine." Hans said at last, her tone curt.
