NAYEON'S POV
A few days later, I was sitting at the dining table in my penthouse, ready to finally have some lunch. The past few days had been a whirlwind of emotions, with the truth about my past with Hans coming to light.
Despite everything, I was still trying to make sense of it all, but for now, I just needed some time to myself.
I had just come back from a long meeting and had barely had time to eat, so the sight of my food in front of me felt like a small moment of relief.
I hadn't even changed out of my office clothes, still in my business suit because I had been so hungry and just couldn't wait any longer.
But as I was about to take the first bite, the sound of the doorbell echoed through the penthouse, instantly interrupting my quiet moment.
I groaned in annoyance, rolling my eyes.
"If this is one of my friends, I swear I'm gonna strangle her." I muttered to myself as I reluctantly stood up from my chair and made my way barefoot to the front door.
I wasn't in the mood for company. My mind was still reeling from the recent conversations and discoveries, and all I wanted was some peace and quiet to eat my lunch in solitude.
As I approached the door, I glanced at the intercom monitor, but I was immediately confused when I saw that the camera was covered by something, blocking the view.
"Who are you?" I asked, curious yet still irritated.
There was silence on the other side, and I waited for a moment, tapping my fingers impatiently against the doorframe.
"I won't open this door if you don't reveal yourself." I warned, trying to keep my tone stern, though I couldn't shake the sense of unease that started to settle in.
Just as I was about to turn away, the cover over the camera was removed, and a familiar face appeared, smiling softly at the camera.
"Hi. It's me, Hans." Hans said gently, her voice unmistakable, sending a wave of chaos crashing over my mind.
My heart stopped for a split second as my eyes widened. I stood frozen, my breath catching in my throat. I didn't know how to respond to this unexpected visit.
"Wh—what are you doing here?" I managed to ask after a long moment, my voice shaky despite my best attempt to compose myself.
"I was visiting. I went to the mansion, but your mom said you were in your office. I tried there, but your secretary told me you were here. So, I thought I'd come by and invite you for lunch, if that's okay." She said chuckled softly, though I could hear the trace of uncertainty in her voice.
I paused for a second, processing her words. And I was completely caught off guard.
I hadn't expected her to come here, especially not after everything that had happened.
The emotions from the past few days swirled inside of me, but I didn't have time to sort them all out right now.
Still unsure of how to respond, I opened the door, and as I did, Hans stepped inside, her presence as commanding as ever.
I couldn't help but notice how effortlessly attractive she was, even dressed casually in jeans and a shirt. I could feel my pulse quicken as she turned her gaze back towards me.
The silence between us felt thick with unspoken words.
"I thought you were in Milan for a business trip?" I asked, trying to break the tension, my voice betraying just a hint of curiosity and surprise.
