Aiden POV

The smell of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the house as I make my way downstairs.

I step into the kitchen to find my parents already seated at the table having breakfast.

My mom is reading a book, a serene smile on her face, while my dad sips his coffee, his expression unreadable.

"Morning," I say, grabbing a piece of toast.

"Good morning, sweetheart," my mom replies, looking up from her book. "How did you sleep?"

"Fine," I respond, taking a seat.

"When are you bringing Hanna again?" she asks, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "I miss having her here"

"You'll see her more often, we're dating ," I say smiling at my mom

"That's wonderful," she says, her smile widening. "I've always liked her. It's nice to see you two getting along so well."

At that moment, my dad's hand slips, and his coffee cup crashes to the floor, shattering into pieces.

The sudden noise startles us all, and for a second, the kitchen is silent. My dad's face darkens, a storm brewing behind his eyes. We all know why, but we choose to ignore it.

"Is it true, Aiden?" my dad asks, his voice taut with anger."you can't date that girl. I won't accept it"

The irony.... I roll my eyes, pushing back from the table. "I don't have time for this," I mutter, turning on my heel and heading for the door.

Outside, I turn my car on and wait for my girl. I get what she said yesterday, this is our routine, when I ignored her it pained me to see her walk to school alone. Sometimes I would pass by her even slower just to look at her longer.

"Hey," she says, stepping forward to kiss me. Her lips are soft and warm against mine, and for a moment, all the stress from home melts away.

"Hey," I reply, wrapping my arms around her. "What's up?"

"My dad's away for the whole day ," she says, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I was wondering if you'd like to come over for dinner tonight?"

"Absolutely," I say, my heart lifting at the thought. What person would say no when their girlfriend is asking for some alone time? Not me that's for sure. I'm just worried about her expectations for tonight

At school, I catch up with Jake and Max in the hallway. They're lounging against the lockers, talking about last night's game.

"Hey ," I say, joining them.

"What's up?" Jake asks, grinning.

"Hanna invited me over for dinner tonight," I say, a hint of nervousness creeping into my voice. "Do you think she's expecting....."

"For you to fuck her... yes"

"Don't you talk about her like that. Unless you want a broken nose" I glare at Max and immediately raises his hands surrounding himself

"To sleep with her, better?"

"What should I do?" I ask, I'm a little embarrassed and I know for sure Max is gonna use this to tease me until the day I die.

"You never?" Max narrow his eyes on me

"I love that girl since I was six, there's no other person for me just her"

"Wow. Let me see your hand" he says with a serious face but Jake stops him before I actually punch him

"I'm kidding" Max says, winking. "Just be yourself, man. If you guys like each other, everything will happen naturally."

Jake nods in agreement. "Yeah, don't overthink it. Just enjoy the time together. It will happen naturally. Want some condoms?"

"I'm gonna ignore you bringing condoms to school" I say, not wanting to know why "I have some at home. Thanks"

We drive to her house, Hanna was telling me all about the play and how's the rehearsal are going and about the new article for the journal. I can't believe where she gets her energy. She change so much but I'm loving learning about this new Hanna.
