Hanna POV
I glance at my phone and see my phone light up for the hundredth time today.
It's my mom. AGAIN.
I swear she doesn't get that I don't wanna talk with her but still she don't know when to stop.
This time I actually stare at my phone wondering if I should just answer and tell her to stop but I don't think that would make a difference.
Actually this morning my dad asked me how I was feeling.
Although I was mad at him for not telling me, he does know me. And he knew if the truth came out I would ghosted her... just like I'm doing.
I never wanted to pick sides when they told me about the divorce but that came natural since she was the one who got a new house and didn't even ask me if I wanted to go.
I would stay with my dad either way, but the intention was never there. That fucking hurts, only 6 months after she lefts she showed any interest in me again.
I'm so lost in my thoughts I don't even hear Aiden walking towards me until he was scooping me and lift me up.
"Hey! You didn't wait for me," Aiden says , spinning me around before setting me back on the ground. "Why didn't you wait?"
I blink, trying to shake off the fog of my thoughts. "I just needed to walk... I'm sorry. I should've texted you."
Aiden shrugs his shoulders and gives me a kiss. "It's okay. I just missed you, that's all."
"You saw me last night"
"Too long without you." He smiles and wraps his arm around me "I need your presence all the time. I miss you in my bed. I didn't sleep well without you"
"One day my dad is gonna kill you"
"He loves me, just like his daughter" Aiden's smiles falls and he looks at me " is because of my dad?"
"I don't really wanna see his face babe"
"Me either" he rolls his eyes "I'm sorry. I just wished my mom would leave him"
"Are you ok with that?" I ask with my voice full of concern
"I am. And if I'm not I have you" he kisses my temple and we go on walking through the halls.
While we're walking, I feel Aiden tense beside me, it was weird. I look around to see if something or someone provoke that but I don't see anything strange.
"So... have you talked to your mom?" Aiden asks
I shake my head, my lips pressing into a thin line. "She keeps calling, but I just... I can't. Not right now."
"Can't say nothing much. She and my dad deserve what they're getting"
"Yeah," I murmur , my gaze dropping to the floor. "It's just... I don't know what to say to her. Or if I even want to say anything. She's the reason you thought you would hurt me and left me. She's the reason my dad was so sad."
"It takes two to tango. My dad is guilty as she is"
"I know. Are you ok?" I ask , looking up at him with concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Aiden replies quickly, but his voice lacked its usual conviction.
I frown because he looks distant and I could feel there's something more he wants to say but he didn't say. I'm about to say something when the bell rings.
"We should get going," Aiden says, his hand slipping from my back as he goes toward the classroom. "We'll talk more later, okay?"
"Okay," I'm afraid he's not to cool with me after knowing my mom was the home wrecker. He says he is but I fell him tensing up when we're talking about her.
