I can't stop smiling, fuck neither Hanna or the boys can say I'm grumpy right now.

I look like a total kid but I don't care, I have my girl with me.

She forgave me and the weigh that had been pressing on my chest for days finally lifted, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I can breathe easily.

Just as we are turning to go back inside, I see my girl leaving her home. I just smile and wait for her.

Mom looks at both of us and chuckles "I made a spa appointment. You two kids go home and behave"

"She would never" I reply, pulling her closer. "Listen, there's this New Year's party the football team is throwing. Do you want to go with me? We can stay home if you want to"

"We can go. Lucy will be there too" she says

I blink, a little taken aback. "Uh, sure, I mean... let me just ask my mom."

I go to the kitchen, where my mom is already making coffee . "Mom, Hanna's dad is here. He's invited us over for Christmas dinner."

She looks at me, a little surprised. "Really? That's very kind of him."

"So, you want to go?" I want her to say yes, that way she's not alone and I can be with Hanna at the same time.

"I think that would be nice. We could use a little family time, even if it's with someone else's family."

"Okay, I'll let him know."

When I return to the living room, I smile at Frank so he can probably guess my answer " It's a yes. Thank you for the invite"

"Please... that way I can make my baby happy and your mom can help me win at Monopoly"

"Don't worry. You two are like family to us"
