Hanna POV
I stand in front of the full-length mirror, carefully adjusting the tiny clasp on the back of Lucy's dress.
The soft lace felt delicate between my fingers, and the gentle curve of the satin bow beneath it ads the final touch to the ethereal gown.
Lucy looks like a princess, her radiant beauty enhanced by the simplicity of the dress, the pure white fabric cascading down her frame.
"You look absolutely stunning," I say, taking a step back to admire my best friend.
Lucy turns to the side, inspecting herself in the mirror. Her cheeks flushed with happiness, and her eyes sparkled with the tears she had been fighting to hold back all day. "I can't believe this is real," she says, her voice tinged with awe. "I'm gonna marry Jake"
I smile warmly, the corners of my eyes crinkling with shared joy. "Jake is one lucky man."
"Thank you for helping me planning. I know you have a movie coming up and it was hard finding time for me"
"Always," I say , squeezing her hand . I glance down at my own hand, where the engagement ring Aiden had given me glitters softly in the light.
Lucy catch me looking and smiles knowingly. "Speaking of which, how's wedding planning going for you? That ring is gorgeous, by the way."
My cheeks flush as she glance at the ring, a modest but beautiful diamond set in a delicate band. "It's going well," she says. "We're still figuring out some details, but I'm so excited. It feels like everything is finally falling into place."
"I can't wait for your big day. You're gonna be so beautiful in your dress"
"I hope so" I chuckle
The door to the room creaks open, and one of Lucy's bridesmaids pokes her head in, her eyes bright with excitement. "They're ready for you, Lucy."
Lucy takes a deep breath and nods, her hand trembling slightly as she reached for her bouquet. I offer her a reassuring smile. "You've got this, Luce. Go out there and marry the man you love."
Lucy nods again, blinking back the tears that threaten to spill over. "I'm ready."
The ceremony was as beautiful as I had imagined it would be.
Jake looked dashing in his tuxedo, his eyes never leaving Lucy's as she walked down the aisle.
I watched them with a full heart as they exchanged their vows, promising to love and cherish each other for the rest of their lives.
As the reception begins, me and Aiden join the rest of the guests in celebrating the newlyweds.
The hall is filled with the sound of laughter, clinking glasses, and the soft murmur of conversation.
The tables are adorned with elegant centerpieces of roses and candles, casting a warm glow over the room.
We're dancing together, swaying to the music as we hold each other close. Aiden's hand rest on my back, his touch gentle and reassuring. I lean my head against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
"I can't wait until it's our turn," Aiden murmurs into my ear, his breath warm against my skin.
I smile cause I'm happy he feels like I do. I can't wait for our wedding. "Me neither."
Just then, Max appears beside us, his face pale and he showed no emotions.
"What's wrong man?" Aiden asks him
"You look like you've seen a ghost"
Max glances around to make sure no one else is listening before leaning in closer. "I just found out... I'm a dad"
My eyes widen in shock. "Wait, what? Are you serious?"
"What how?"
"New years 4 years ago.... Julia. Fuck I..."
"How did you find out?"
"She's here with him. I have a son and he's the most adorable little human I ever seen"
