Hanna's POV

Today I slept really badly, I could hear all the dogs in the street and even the dam cats from Mrs. Thompson.

Why you may ask? I'm feeling nervous about the rehearsals .

Finally at school, I round the corner near my locker, I almost collide with a group of boys from the football team, their laughter echoing off the walls.

"Hey, watch it!" I say, laughing to myself.

One of the boys, Ethan, step forward, his face turning a deep shade of red. He's cute.

He's tall and muscular, with a mop of dark hair that always seemed to be falling into his eyes. I'd seen him around but had never spoken to him before.

"Uh, Hanna?" he stammers, his voice barely audible. "Can I talk to you for a second?"

I raise an eyebrow, curious. "Sure, what's up?"

Ethan glance nervously at his friends, who are snickering behind him. He takes a deep breath and finally meet my gaze. "I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me sometime. Maybe this Friday?"

I'm taken aback. I had never really talked to him unless in class but his nervousness was endearing. I smiled warmly. "Sure, why not? Friday works for me."

Ethan's face lights up with a surprised smile. "Really? Great! I'll, uh, pick you up at seven?"

"Sounds good," I say, chuckling at his relief.

As I watch Ethan walk away, a small part of me is excited about the date.

I did told Lucy it was time for me to move on and become the usual Hanna and I want to go on that date.

It's a chance to move on, to forget about Aiden for a while. I shake my head and make my way to class, feeling a bit lighter.

At lunch, I find Lucy at our usual spot. She was wearing the most beautiful blue summer dress, I need to steal it.

Lucy is already unpacking her lunch, her blonde curls bouncing as she rummage through her bag.

"You'll never guess what just happened," I say, sitting down beside her.

Lucy looks up, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Oh, I know. Jake mentioned it."

I frown. "Mentioned what?"

"Ethan asking you out," Lucy says, grinning. "The whole football team was talking about it at practice."

"Seriously?" I asks, my eyes wide. "I had no idea it was such a big deal."

Lucy laughs. "Well, Ethan's had a crush on you for a while now. He finally worked up the courage to ask you out. It's kind of sweet."

I can't help but smile. "He did seem really nervous. I thought he was going to pass out."

Lucy nods. "Ethan's a sweetheart. I think you should give him a chance. Who knows? It might be fun."

"Yeah, maybe," I say, eating my salad. "It's just... I don't know. It feels weird."

Lucy tilts her head, studying me. "Weird how?"

"I guess I'm just not used to it," I admit. "I've been so focused on other things lately, I haven't really thought about dating. I don't even know what to wear"

"Well, maybe it's time to start," Lucy says with a wink. "And I promise you I'll be helping you dressing up"

Thank god, thinking about it he might be the first guy asking me out which make this the first date I go to.
