It's quiet. Too quiet. Usually I'd have to shout at everyone over 5 times before they'd even consider getting started on one of our routines. Now though, we've gone through everything, with still an hour left of our slotted time, and I've barely heard anything from the boys.
They're up to something. They must be. What else could it be?
It's probably my best bet to ask Henry about it. Seeing as he is the most mature out of the lot. Heck, sometimes I'm confused as to how he puts up with them.
Until I remember why I don't talk to him in the first place.
"Okay, what's up? You four haven't been cracking any jokes or fucking around all day. What are you planning?"
"Planning?" Henry mumbles over the cigarette he has just lit. He had the audacity to let out the puff he inhales all over my face. I've done it enough myself though to not even cough.
"Why would you immediately think we're up to something?...Okay, fair enough." All it took was a single look from me to make him continue. "We're not though. Honestly, it been kinda dull between us."
"Dull? Why? Not gone to any parties lately or something?" I scoff.
"Sort of. I don't really know. You should really just ask the other three. There's been this...I don't know, tension between our group for a few weeks now. I'm not sure what it's about, but it seemed to start with Finn and now Ozzy and a Kingston aren't in a good mood either."
Well that's just weird. Sure, they've all gotten into fights with each-other before. But, they were all either purely stupid or just drunk fists fights that they didn't remember in the morning.
I eye up Finn, who is off by himself on his phone. Now that I think about it, he has been doing that for awhile now.
He's usually full of so much energy, whether it be from whatever he smokes or just his personality in general. With his incredibly tall stature, it's become a hazard to be around him at times.
I'm certainly not complaining that he's grown more chill, but it just seems weird.
Maybe I shouldn't question it. If this isn't part of another one of their convoluted ideas, and it's really just an issues between them all, then I should enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts.
Just to be completely sure though, I go to Piper for a moment.
"Hey, we have some time left over, so I was wondering if you wanted to work on the duet with Finn?" I ask her.
Of-course she rolls her eyes and looks like she wants to decline for a moment. She ends up just nodding in the end though.
Everybody knows that even though she is in a featured part for DanceMania, this is not what she had in mind. Barely any of us like the boys in general, but Finn has flirted with Piper numerous times since we were 13. Even though anyone with eyes cam tell she is not interested.
But, he is the most skilled one here at partner work, even if I hate to admit it. And with Piper being incredible at ballet, they seemed the best fit.
"Alright then. Finn!" He looks up from his phone when I call him. "I just want to go through your and Piper's duet a few times before we all head home."
Further proving my suspicions, he shakes his head and puts his device away. It's like he'd rather do anything else.
What is going on there?
