"We really should have decided this earlier."

"Well, considering we started a month later than every other studio. Had to re-choose who would be in all the team, as-well as re-choreograph them. There really hasn't been much time to think about Dance Captain." I remind Emily.

Yeah, so picking who would officially be leading the team while on the bus ride to Regionals isn't the best plan. But, each studio is required to have a Dance Captain. Meaning, there is was no other time then now to do it.

"I'm aware, but do you really think Cleo will do the best job?" She indicates to the punk girl, who has her arm wrapped around Jude. (Her girlfriend)

Okay, so she didn't look that excited at the news.  But, I wasn't exactly expecting her to. Cleo has always been a colder and laid back person. While I'd expect someone like Winnie to run around the bus if we told her, this seems very in character for Cleo.

"We talked about this. Even if she a bit more...rugged than the rest of her team, she has what it takes to keep them in line." Let's just hope she doesn't resort the violence. That fight she had with Xander a few years back is still fresh in my mind. "Plus, we can't exactly change our mind now since the bus has just pulled up to the place."

Emily turns around and realises that I'm right. Here we are: Nationals!

To think that there was a time this year that we didn't even think we wo0uld be attending this competition anymore.

Even if I'm not competing anymore, I can't help the rush of excitement that goes through me as we all step out of the vehicle. This is my first competition as Head Choreographer! These memories are something I know I'm going to hold for years.

"Let's do this." I say to Emily.

It's hard to keep track of everyone when we get to the crowded space of the lobby. If she didn't do it on the bus, Winnie is surely running around now, with Presley trying to calm her down. The others aren't in a better state though. I have to stop another fight between Ethan and Marcus, which poor Pete had to witness. Grace and Maya immediately want to look at the merch shop. And despite my fate in her, I've already lost sight of Cleo. Jude too.

Izzy seems to be the only tame one, which does worry me. Any other day they would've been the hardest person to keep track of. But, they've sunken into themselves since that thing with Winnie. I've tried letting them know they can talk to me. But, there's been no luck.

As I finally get them settled down for a minute, I feel a hand slip into mine. I'm really confused at first, but then I look and see Heath standing next to me.

"Sorry, there's just a lot of people in here, and I thought this would be the way way to not get separated from the group." He says with an oblivious smile.

Oh fuck! He does not know what he is doing to me! I know we've been in much more compromising positions before. However, this feels much more intimate. I don't know, maybe it's because this one wasn't an accident. Either way, a blush washes over all of me and I can't blame the warmth I've been feeling on the crowd anymore.

I definitely don't want to let go though. So, I go along with what he said, and give him a squeeze, before heading up to the sign in desk.
