Y/n woke up early the next morning. The sun wasn't even quite up yet as she looked outside the window.

A small smile spread on her face as she started to get dressed. She made her way downstairs, slipping out the door quietly.

It was quite chilly, but Y/n didn't mind it. It was a perfect time to take a walk as the sun started to rise.

Y/n loved the peace and quiet that an early morning walk offered. There weren't many people or even cars in their somewhat secluded neighbourhood.

Y/n walked up to the park a few miles from their house, spending some time there before turning back to go home.

On her way back, she checked her emails on her phone. She had applied for a few jobs and was waiting for any replies.

A smile rose on her face as she opened an email about an interview for her top pick from her applications.

She had only submitted the application the morning prior and was surprised to see them get back to her so quickly.

Y/n opened the link to set a time for the interview and chose it for the next day, wanting to get it over with quickly and hopefully start working sooner. She was getting bored of sitting at home all day.

She made her way home, going inside quietly, just in case someone was still asleep and was disturbed by it.

Y/n slipped off her shoes, putting them in the shoe rack and hanging up her coat. She sneezed as she made her way towards the kitchen.

She was almost in the doorway and she could have sworn that she saw Mia pulling away from Gracie, but she couldn't be sure as she only saw it for a split second while she sneezed.

Mia could just have been moving past her, so Y/n didn't think much of it, but the thought that it was something else stayed in the back of her mind.

Y/n knew that they had gotten closer while she was away on deployment, as she expected them to. But she had a feeling in her gut that something was off.

She smiled nonetheless, greeting the girls. She couldn't bring it up, not when she didn't even know what she saw.

"Hey, where were you?" Gracie asked with a smile. "Just went for a walk." Y/n smiled back as Gracie wrapped her arms around her.

Y/n looked back at Mia, noticing that she didn't look very pleased, but as soon as she saw Y/n watching her, she gave her a happy smile. This whole situation just felt weird.

"Breakfast is ready if you're hungry." Gracie said, pulling Y/n back from her thoughts. "Yeah, thanks." Y/n hummed.

"Oh and by the way, I got an interview for tomorrow. Remember I told you about that cybersecurity job." Y/n told her as she sat down at the table.

"Oh yeah, I remember. That's really great." Gracie said excitedly. Mia stayed silent the whole time as the two talked about the job and the interview.

"How's collage going, Mia?" Y/n asked, turning the attention to her sister. She really felt like they weren't as close as they used to be.

Mia used to tell her everything and now it seems like they barely talk, even though they live in the same house.

"Hmm. Yeah it's great. I'm keeping on top of everything." Mia hummed, scratching her neck. A nervous habit she had since childhood, which Y/n took notice of.

At this point, Y/n didn't even know what to think. Everything was just off.

"Good." Y/n hummed in response before getting lost in thought again. She tried to think back to previous interactions but couldn't quite recall anything specific.
