After Y/n left, Gracie spent most of her time in solitude, haunted by the mistakes she had made. The stupidest mistakes of her life. She completely retreated, staying indoors most of the time and completely pausing her music career, even staying off social media for the most part.
The guilt of betraying her wife weighed heavily on her, she found herself crying to sleep quite frequently in the first few weeks after they separated and as the divorce proceedings were happening.
She knew it was all her own fault, one stupid mistake snowballed into months of lies and deceit. She hated Mia for ever making a move on her, but she hated herself even more for ever entertaining it. She had the power to stop it just as much as Mia did. There really was no excuse.
For months Gracie slugged around her home, unable to even look at her reflection without feeling a deep sense of shame.
This feeling was even more exasperated as her friends tried to figure out what happened and the media started rumours and making assumptions about Gracies sudden disappearance from basically all social media.
After a few months of mourning the relationship Gracie had, she slowly began to rebuild her life. Slowly starting to accept what happened and her part in it. Knowing that she deserved these consequences.
Mia tried to stay in contact with Gracie relentlessly, but Gracie shot her down right away. She knew that it was her own actions that led to this, but a part of her would always blame her. A part of her will always hate her for what happened. She wanted nothing to do with her.
After a while of Mia's insistent attempts to make contact, Gracie decided she needed to move. She packed her things and moved to another city. A city far away from the memories of her past, far away from Mia.
As she settled into her new home, she poured herself into work, needing to undo the reputational damage she had gotten over her months of silence. Their divorce became public news very quickly and Grace's silence on the matter didn't help with fans' speculations.
Gracie eased herself into public appearances and eventually started to pick up the pieces of her dead social life. Following her split with Y/n, she had pushed away all her friends. She didn't feel like she deserved the support.
She stayed single for a long time, hesitant to open her heart again. She believed she didn't deserve to be loved again after what she did. Her actions had caused too much pain to risk starting a new relationship any time soon.
Aside from not feeling like she deserved another chance at love, Gracie was now overly aware of how much people who love each other can hurt each other. She was terrified that what she did to Y/n would one day happen to her.
As a result, Gracie focused on her passion for music and her hobbies to try to enrich her life again, in ways that wouldn't hurt so much. It was comforting to know that those are things she will always be able to fall back on.
In her journey to better herself, Gracie learned a lot about herself. She was able to look back on her mistakes and learn from them. After some time, she found a quiet and steady rhythm in her life, one without the chaos of betrayal in love and self-blame.
Gracie didn't fully forgive herself for what she did to Y/n, but she learned to accept that it happened and to move on and learn to be a better person.

It took years for Gracie to consider romantic relationships again. The self-hatred and loathing and fear keeping her from seeking out these types of connections.
That was until she met someone special. Someone who gave her back her spark. Who made her want to smile again. Who made butterflies flutter in her stomach. Someone who not only made her want to live, but to thrive.
She met Emma at an awards ceremony and they quickly hit it off. They both had been nominated for awards, Gracie in a music category and Emma in a film category.
Before this event, Gracie had forgotten how easy it is to connect with people sometimes. The first time in a few years where she wanted to initiate a conversation with someone in hopes that it would lead to something more.
Once they spent some time together at the awards, they exchanged phone numbers and were inseparable ever since. After only a week of texting, Gracie asked Emma on a date and that very same night asked her to be her girlfriend.
It all happened so fast, but it felt so right. Gracie felt like she could be unapologetically herself around Emma. As their relationship bloomed, Gracie learned to love again and slowly started to forgive herself for her past mistakes.
It had been around 3 years that had passed after her divorce from Y/n when she met Emma. 3 years until she finally allowed herself to feel something, to love and be loved. As much as she felt she didn't deserve anything good, she couldn't punish herself forever and allowed herself to pursue Emma.
No matter how much time passes, Gracie will never forget the events of the last few years. Her betrayal, her fuck ups, her lies. She'll move on as much as she can, but a part of that will always stay with her.
One thing she knew for sure was that she wanted to go into her new relationship with no secrets. She knew telling Emma the truth about her previous relationship could very well be the end of her newfound romance, but she simply couldn't keep that to herself.
After just a month with Emma, Gracie came clean and told her everything. Shared the worst parts of herself, put it all on the line so Emma knew exactly what she was getting herself into.
Emma was rightfully horrified after learning how Gracie had treated her partner. They had several lengthy conversations about what happened, how Gracie handled it and how she grew and improved herself since.
Emma took a few days to think about it and pretty quickly came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth throwing their relationship away because of a past mistake.
It was obvious Gracie had grown as a person because she shared all of this knowing that it could potentially lead to their breakup. It showed that Gracie was taking responsibility for what she had done and that she has learned from her past.
Another year later Gracie found out, through Taylor, that Y/n was getting married. Relief flooded over her at the news. She hadn't known where Y/n was or how she was doing, but she was ecstatic to find out that she didn't completely and utterly fuck up her trust in people and love.
She felt a deep sense of happiness that Y/n was able to move on and fall in love again, because Y/n really didn't deserve what they did to her and Gracie felt like she could forgive herself a little more knowing that Y/n was okay.
