Y/n wasn't sure what to do after the work party. She found herself staring at Zaras number, considering if she should text at least a dozen times a day.
She really liked Zara, yet she felt it could be quite messy considering she was her bosses daughter. Subconsciously, Y/n knew that her boss would be okay with it, yet it felt weird. It seemed like a conflict.
But really the only way it could fuck anything up is if her and Zara don't work out and for a pretty bad reason. Surely their chemistry was worth a shot, regardless of the potential disappointment in the future.
After staring at Zaras number for 3 days, Y/n finally decided to text her. As much as she debated how good or bad of an idea this was, she decided she couldn't let the opportunity pass her by.
Y/n texted her a simple "Hi, it's Y/n :)" and tossed her phone on the couch. Barely a minute later, her phone buzzed with a notification.
She was surprised when she saw it was Zara, getting back to her so quickly. "I was beginning to think you weren't going to text me."
"I'm so glad you did." She added with a blushing smiley face. "Had a little internal struggle whether this was a good idea" Y/n sent back.
"Aww how come?" Zara texted back curiously. "Well you are my bosses daughter" Y/n said back with a grinning emoji.
"True. But my father speaks so highly of you, I'm sure we have his blessing." Zara texts with a winking emoji.
They continue to text back and forth for most of the day and late into the evening. It was crazy how much they had to talk about.

After texting for 2 days Y/n finally asked Zara out on a date. She wanted it to be low pressure and fun rather than a formal dinner, so she invited Zara for a little roller skating date.
Having lived here for quite a while now, she was pretty familiar with the local area and so offered to pick Zara up from her apartment.
They both smiled widely as they saw each other, embracing in a hug. It's been about a week since the Christmas party and they were excited to see each other again.
Y/n led Zara to her car and opened the passenger door for her. "Oh thank you." Zara said softly, a smile tugging on her lips.
Y/n gave her a little wink before closing the door and walking around to the drivers side. They quickly got into conversation as Y/n started driving to the skating rink.
It was unusual how quickly they were comfortable with each other. There was no awkwardness or silence between them as they talked casually like they've known each other months, not barely a week.
The drive was relatively short as they arrived at the rink at 2 pm. They stepped out of the car and started heading towards the building.
Y/n got the door again, letting Zara through first. Y/n had paid in advance, so they only needed to get their roller skates from the front desk.
Zara confessed that she has only been skating a few times but knew the basics of it. Y/n was by no means a pro either, but she was pretty good at it.
"Don't worry I'll catch you if you fall." Y/n says with a little smirk, causing Zara to smile. "I'll stay close then." She winks at Y/n. "I hope so." Y/n says as she takes Zaras hand and leads her towards the rink.
"Okay I can do this." Zara whispers to herself, intent on not embarrassing herself in front of Y/n. As soon as she steps foot onto the rink, she grabs onto the wall for support, her confidence slowly dissipating.
