The evening had been long for the members of Enhypen, as usual.

Practice had been stretched late, with the group running through choreography for their upcoming performance(ENHYPEN NEEDS REST). They had been working tirelessly to perfect every move, every transition, every beat. It was always the same routine—dancing, singing, and rehearsing until their bodies were sore and their minds were tired. But it was the price they paid for perfection. And for them, it was worth it.

The pressure of being in a group with such high expectations weighed on their shoulders, but they carried it together, never letting it break them. There was always something bigger at stake—always the dream they were chasing, always the belief in what they could accomplish as a unit.

Jay, always the diligent member, had pushed himself just a little harder than usual that evening, striving for perfection as he always did. His focus was unparalleled, and his passion for the craft was evident in every movement. He wasn’t the one to take shortcuts or give less than his best. He had always been that way, and it was something his members admired and respected. Jay was the one who would stay late after everyone else had left, checking every step in the choreography, making sure every note was in place. He would make sure his part in a song was flawless, every time.

Tonight, however, there was something different about him. His focus was even more intense, his movements sharper. He was always the one to double-check everything, whether it was his part in a song or his movements in a routine. The others admired his dedication, but tonight, they noticed that there was something heavier in his expression—something unspoken.

As the members of Enhypen filed out of the practice room, their tired but content faces spoke volumes. They were used to the exhaustion, but the satisfaction of working hard for something bigger kept them going. Each of them walked a little more slowly than usual, the toll of the night’s rehearsal on their limbs, but it was a quiet kind of contentment. They were a family, after all.

Jay was the type who could always make the members laugh, even on the hardest days. His sarcastic remarks, sharp wit, and the way he would take care of the members when they were struggling—it was what made him such an irreplaceable part of the group. He wasn’t the loudest, but his presence was always felt. He had a quiet strength about him that grounded the others.

“See you at home, guys,” Jay said, his voice light and casual as he waved to his members, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips. His tiredness didn’t show in his tone.

“Be safe, hyung!” Sunghoon called out, the other members chiming in with similar well-wishes.

Jay waved one last time before stepping outside into the cool evening air, the noise of the city buzzing around him. He was tired, but he was looking forward to getting home, relaxing for a bit, and maybe grabbing a late-night snack. His mind drifted to the small things that would help him unwind—a bowl of ramen, a quiet night alone in his room, maybe even a quick call with his family. Little did he know, this would be the last time he would leave the practice room like this.

The sound of screeching tires and the crunch of metal was all it took for everything to change.

Jay had barely made it out of the building before the crash.

He had been walking home, his steps slow, tired from the long practice, when a car coming from the opposite direction had lost control. It seemed as if time had slowed for a moment. He could hear the tires screeching against the pavement, and then, before he could react, the car slammed into him.
