-Anya POV-

I was sitting by a fire. The blonde from Skaikru, Clarke I believed, was tied up by a tree.

Y/N killed two of my men. I was impressed, I didn't think any of the Skaikru could fight, let alone kill. But if any could, then it would be him.

A snap is heard and the horses whinny. I stand up, drawing my sword.

Then I see the culprit. Tristan. A general, mainly for the Heda, but sometimes Trikru, him along with the twins, Jon and Kon.

"Your left flank is vulnerable."

Three of my men who were near me stand up quickly, drawing their weapons.

"My archers are in the trees, with orders to kill anyone hostile. You're not hostile are you Tristan? You or your brothers?" I ask, looking behind me and into the trees.

Two men come out, Jon and Kon, twins, though Kon had a distinctive missing eye, one from a fight that I knew plenty of.

"Impressive, Anya." Kon comments.

"What's impressive is that you had the nerve to come here. Want to lose the other eye?" I threaten.

Tristan however gets my attention. "So this, is who's beating you?" He stares down at the blonde, who scoots back in fear.

"Her and Skaikru's leader. Y/N Kane."

"Was that respect I hear in your voice?" Jon invades my space.

I give a glare. "A leader can respect an enemy's skill. He has done plenty for his people. He has even attempted to broker for peace."

Jon continues. "Oh, but of course. It's not that you're catching feelings, right?" He asks in a low tone. "This one man, warms your loins?"

I stare down at him, biting back the urge to start attacking. "Is there a reason you've come here?"

"We...." Tristan starts, glancing at the blonde. "We, are the ones sent to slaughter your people." He finishes.

I look at him quickly, my surprise staying for just a second until I hide it once more. "The commander sent you?" I wished it wasn't so. "Would Lexa- No, Heda." I correct myself. "Did Heda really allow this. Would she?"

"Your unit is ours now. Our rangers are hungry. Feed them now." Tristan orders my men. "They're resting at the river."

My men look at me, wondering what to do.

I lift my hand to signal them to go. I look back at the three brothers. "This doesn't seem like something Heda would send. Especially not after the letter I sent to her."

I did send a letter. I told Y/N I'd talk to my people when the other Skaikru ship arrived but exploded. I only wanted a council with Heda to discuss the fate of Skaikru, and my vote was on peace.

The blonde looks up, shocked that I didn't immediately want to fight.

Kon paces around the fire. "She must've not cared for that letter or your vote for peace." He slips.

I tilt my head ever so slightly. How would he know? "The fate of Skaikru is still a needed discussion."

"Skaikru will die." Jon states. "But their leader. We capture him and bring him to the commander. She'll kill him. Blood for blood. Don't you want that?"

I stand in front of him. "Y/N Kane is not to be under-"

"Estimated." Jon finishes my words. "Word travels fast, Anya. Especially fast when that pathetic excuse of a leader fights you." He raises his hand, showing he's missing two fingers.
