Kitana was standing over the window, thinking about Liu Kang. She wondered where he could be during the night.
"Kitana, come away from the window," Sindel called out to her. She was having tea with her husband and the Earthrealmers.
"I'm sure he'll be back soon," Raiden said, looking concerned about Liu Kang.
"He's terrified of the dark. When he was a boy, he used to wet his combination regularly, didn't he, Kung Lao." Madam Bo said.
He nodded. "He did it by accident. It wasn't his fault."
Then they heard the door knock.
"Enter," Shao Kahn said. It appeared Demande paid them a visit.
"Ah, Prince Demande, I trust the room is to your liking," Sindel said. She was impressed to see Demande showing up.
"Thank you, you are a most gracious hostess. Which is why it pains me to be the bearer of... such bad news." Demande said, walking towards Shao Kahn and Sindel.
Everyone was confused as they looked at each other.
Demande summoned the man who always delivered the news with the handbell. "Would you care to repeat tonight's headline for us?"
Then he started to shout as he rang the bell. "Hear ye, hear ye! Liu Kang seen this night on the bridge in the arms of a mystery woman! Liu Kang and the golden-haired girl slipped away into the night!"
"Enough!" Demande said as he sent him away.
"What!?" Kitana, Raiden, Kung Lao, and Madam Bo said in shock at the same time.
"Liu Kang...? With another woman!?" Kung Lao said in shock.
"He doesn't even know any women!" Madam Bo said.
"Or so you thought. Do call for me if you need my assistance in any way." With that, Demande left the castle when he eyed Kitana one last time.
"By the Elder Gods, Shao! What should we do!?" Sindel said, panicked.
Shao Kahn let out a growl in furious as he summoned his big hammer. "I will teach the boy a lesson!"
"Now, now, Shao Kahn. We'll just go out and find Liu Kang. And we'll make things right." Raiden assured the King and Queen.
"Regardless, we are one groom short for the wedding tomorrow!" Shao Kahn growled.
"A most scandalous embarrassment for all of us," Sindel said in disgust.
"Give us a chance to find him, we beg of you," Madam Bo said with a pleading look.
"Just give us until dawn," Kung Lao said.
Sindel glared at them. "Very well. Till dawn."

Meanwhile...
Demande was encountered by the Wiseman, Kano, Tanya, Mileena, his brother, Saphir, and the sorcerer, Quan Chi. The four of them were planning something evil.
"This will be too easy to have Kitana as my bride. As soon as we wed, I will have to kill Kitana and have the last piece of the Silver Emerald." Demande said with an evil smirk.
"What are those?" Tanya asked curiously.
"The seven Emeralds were created by the Elder Gods. It has Shinnok's powers after he was banished to Netherrealm. We have to give him back his power and then free him with the Amulet." Demande said.
"But why give it to my sister? Why does she have to hide the last piece of Emerald?" Mileena asked, confused.
"She doesn't know about it, Mileena. Raiden had to seal the last piece of Emerald after Shinnok was defeated." The Wiseman explained.
"Yeah, even sending those Emeralds back to the Elder Gods?" Saphir asked.
Demande gave his brother a glaring look, making Saphir flinch in fear.
"Soon Kitana was finished, we will complete all seven of Emeralds and release Shinnok, so we will take over Earthrealm," The Wiseman said.
"Soon Earthrealm will be lost forever," Quan Chi chuckled evilly.
