Chapter 18: Dead Walk On Earth

After Kitana and Demade got married, everyone went back to the castle and had dinner. Demande tapped his cup with the spoon, giving everyone's attention.

"Quiet down, everyone! Thank you!" Demande said as he began his speech, making Kitana annoyed. "Elegant, cultured, radiant. Kitana has found a husband with all these qualities and more. Serendipity brought us together, and no force on Earth could tear us apart."

Suddenly, the fireplace started to blaze out, causing everyone's attention. They became nervous, looking around to see who was disturbing the wedding.

Upon their arrival, the town erupted into a temporary panic until everyone recognized their loved ones from the dead, and they had a joyous reunion under the bizarre circumstances.

At that moment, Sindel recognized Jerrod who came to see her. Her eyes widened, never expected to see him.

"Jerrod...? Is that really you?" She said, shocked.

"Yes, Sindel. It's me." Jerrod said, smiling.

"Jerrod!" She ran up to him and embraced him. After that, she kissed him passionately. After the kiss, they faced each other before they caressed their cheeks to each other.

"How I've missed!" She cried out.

While this was going on, Madam Bo reunited with Kung Lao as she told him how much she missed him and apologized to him for what happened to him.

At the same time, Kitana found herself standing over the party wrecked everyone had caused. Demande came out of the under table after hiding.

"Right! That's it! We're going to take whatever money we can and get out of here!" Demande said, pestering around.

Kitana gave him a confused look. "Money? What money?"

"Your dowry! It's my right!" Demande growled.

"Shao Kahn doesn't have any money. It's my marriage to you that we will save them from the poorhouse." Kitana told him.

"What!? The poorhouse!? Tell me this isn't true, Kitana! Tell me you're lying!" Demande shouted as he shook Kitana violently.

She scowled angrily. "Did things not go according to your plan, Demande?" Then she pushed him away before leaving him. "Well, perhaps in disappointment we are perfectly matched."

He let out a growl of fury. He grabbed her violently and pulled her close. "You're not leaving until you give me the Silver Emerald. I know you always have it, Kitana, and you're not leaving until you give it to me."

Then he made a mistake hurting her when he was slashed in the face by Kitana's fan blade, causing him to scream in pain.

She glared at him as she put her fan blade away. "You should've stayed dead, Demande." With that, she took off running away.

When she left the castle, she found everyone was heading their way to the church. It was then she noticed her mother reuniting with the man she hadn't seen for a while.

"Father? Is that you?" Kitana asked, shocked.

He smiled at her. "It's me, Kitana."

"Father! I missed you!" Kitana cried out as she ran up to him and hugged him. Jerrod hugged her back, telling her how much he missed his little girl. After the hug, Kitana faced her mother who looked guilty for what she did.

"Kitana... Jerrod told me everything about what happened ten thousand years ago. I was unaware of what Shao Kahn had done. I'm so sorry for mistreating and neglecting you. Will you forgive me?"
