Chapter 10: Reunion Didn't Went Well

As Liu Kang made it to the Outworld, he stood over the front door when he heard Shao Kahn and Sindel talking trash about him.

"When I see the Shaolin boy, I will strangle him with my bare hands!" Shao Kahn growled in anger.

"Use the hammer, husband. It's way better than using your hands." Sindel said.

Now Liu Kang had no choice but to climb up to Kitana's balcony.

Serenity sadly waited for Liu Kang to return with his family. She wondered if he didn't mean it. She was worried he would leave her. Suddenly, Artemis appeared from nowhere when he found Serenity sitting alone in the forest.

"What are you doing here, Artemis?" Serenity asked after she noticed his presence.

"Stolas sent me to watch over you," Artemis said.

"Why does he have to send you to watch over me?" She asked, annoyed.

"He wanted to make sure you were safe," Artemis said. Then he sat beside her and began talking to her, "I have a bad feeling about this boy."

"Liu Kang has gone to see his family, just like he said," Serenity said.

"If I hadn't just been sitting in it, I would say that you had lost your mind," Artemis said.

"I'm sure he has a perfectly good reason for taking so long," Serenity said.

"Oh, I am sure he does. Why don't you go ask him?" He suggested.

"Alright, I will."

"After all, he couldn't get far with those cold feet," Artemis said as he watched the footprints on the snow.

Liu Kang took three minutes to climb the balcony until he found Kitana sitting on the chair in the bedroom, feeling sad. He could tell she missed him. Probably she liked him. He knocked on the door, giving Kitana's attention.

She turned around and saw Liu Kang standing over her window. She quickly opened the door and let him in. After that, Liu Kang let out a long sigh of relief, feeling safe.

"Liu Kang!"

"Kitana..." He said in relief.

"I'm so happy to see you," Kitana said. She hugged him as he hugged her back.

"Me, too," he said, smiling at her.

"You're cold. Come by the fire." After the hug, she leads him to the fireplace to keep him warm. The two sat beside the fireplace.

"Where have you been? Are you alright?" Kitana asked, worried.

"I... I..." Liu Kang was nervous to tell her how he felt about Kitana.

"You're as cold as death. What's happened to you?" Kitana said, worried.

"Kitana, I confess. This morning I was... terrified of marriage. But then, on meeting you, I felt... I should be with you always and that our wedding... could not come soon enough." Liu Kang admitted, facing the woman he truly loved.

She began to smile filled with affection. "Liu Kang..." At that moment, Kitana leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Liu Kang gently kissed her back. Within a few seconds of kissing, they pulled themselves away. Kitana leaned her forehead over his. Liu Kang caressed her left rosy cheek.

"I feel the same," Kitana said quietly.

Suddenly, Liu Kang and Kitana were interrupted when the door opened. Liu Kang was shocked to see Serenity had found him after following his footprints. Kitana was confused and surprised at who this woman was.

"Darling, I just wanted to..." When Serenity removed the veil, she noticed Liu Kang was with another woman.

"Darling, who is this?" Serenity asked, filled with jealousy. She pulled him close to her, frowning at Kitana.

"Who is she?" Kitana asked Liu Kang, confused.

"I'm his wife," Serenity introduced herself to Kitana as she showed her the wedding ring.

Kitana blinked in shock as she looked at Liu Kang. "Liu Kang!?"

"No! You don't understand! She's dead!" Liu Kang tried to explain things to Kitana, but Serenity became super angry at him for lying to her.

Serenity stepped over the balcony and glared sharply. Darkness was taking over her. "Hopscotch!"

With that, Serenity took Liu Kang with her and dragged her to Hell when they were surrounded by the crows.

"No! No! Kitana!" Liu Kang screamed out as he reached his hand to her. Kitana does the same as she calls out to him.

"Liu Kang!" Kitana called out to him until she watched Serenity and Liu Kang vanish in the thin air.
