"Liu Kang, where are you?" The Corpse Bride called out to him, searching for Liu Kang in the town called Pentagram City.
Liu Kang was hiding in the bush, making sure he didn't get caught. How did she know my name? Oh, wait... probably Husk told her what my name is and where I was at.
"There he is!" The white cat shouted.
Liu Kang panicked as he knew he was caught, so he began to run away. As he ran through the Hand Shop, one of the hands knew where he was going, so they pointed in his direction for the Corpse Bride.
She smiled, nodding. "Thank you."
Liu Kang found himself in the alleyway as he went to hide the coffin. He pretended to be dead. When the Corpse Bride passes through, not knowing it is him, Liu Kang meets the black cat who approaches.
"Married, huh? I'm a widow." The black cat said.
He accidentally kicked the cat away before he continued to run away.
"How rude! He went that way!" The black cat meowed in pain.
And so Liu Kang climbed the wall until he accidentally reached the Corpse Bride's foot.
"Could have used the stairs, silly." She said, smiling. She then helped him out and stood him straight. After that, she looked over the view, making Liu Kang confused.
"Isn't the view beautiful? It takes my breath away. Well, it would if I had any. Isn't it romantic?" The Corpse Bride said excitedly. She was dancing around happily, making Liu Kang watch.
And so they sat on the bench. Liu Kang awkwardly looked at her. He knew it was weird for him to hang out with the living dead. I mean, she's the spector like Scorpion, or so Liu Kang thinks. She's a zombie, damn it!
Liu Kang began to talk to her, feeling bad for the girl for mistaking him for her groom. Not only did he feel bad for what happened to her. "Look, I am sorry about what's happened to you and I'd like to help you, but I really need to go home."
"This is your home now," she said.
He began to blush softly as he began to ask her what her real name was. "But I don't even know your name."
"Well, that's a great way to start a marriage," the white cat said as he appeared sitting beside them.
"Shut up!" The Corpse Bride hissed as she hit him in the back of his head.
"Ow! What was that for!? That's animal abuse!" The white cat wailed in pain.
Liu Kang didn't do anything.
"It's Serenity."
"Serenity. That's a... beautiful name." Liu Kang said, blushing softly.
She blushed back. "Thank you."
He smiled a bit. "You're welcome."
"Oh, I almost forgot! I have something for you." Serenity said as she brought the box with the red ribbon, making him more confused.
"What is this?"
"It's a wedding present," Serenity whispered playfully.
"Oh... I see." Then he opened the present and found out his gift was a dead dog with bones. "Oh... that's... a lovely gift."
Then it suddenly came back to life, making Liu Kang surprise. The undead dog started to bark happily as he brought the collar license. Just when Liu Kang read, he realized it was his dog.
"Scrapes! My dog, Scrapes!" Liu Kang said happily as he was tackled and licked in the face by his dog Scrapes. And so Liu Kang put a collar license on, and they began to play around, making Serenity giggle.
"Play dead!" Liu Kang accidentally said when Scrapes stopped and stared at him for a few seconds. He sweatdropped at this, saying, "Sorry..."
Scrapes barked in response. He leaped onto Serenity's lap and licked her rosy cheek. Liu Kang has to admit he was happy to see his dog again.
Suddenly, Scrapes noticed the white cat was watching them, so he began to chase him around. Liu Kang panicked as he tried to stop Scrapes chasing the white cat.
"Scrapes!" He called out to him.
Then the white climbed into the tree, so Scrapes couldn't climb up and continued to chase him. Liu Kang picked Scrapes and scolded him for chasing the poor cat.
He let out a whimper, knowing Liu Kang was mad at him.
"Oh, Scrapes. I'm not mad at you. You got me worried by running off." Liu Kang said as he hugged him.
Scrapes barked as he licked his face.
"This is Artemis, my cat. He is one of my companions." Serenity said.
"I see," he replied.
While this was going on, Liu Kang came up with a brilliant idea of how to get home from Netherrealm.
"Serenity, would you maybe like to meet my family?" He asked.
"Fantastic! Where are they buried!?" Serenity said excitedly.
He sweatdropped. "They're not from here."
"Where are they?" Serenity asked.
"Earthrealm," Liu Kang answered.
"Oh, they're still alive!"
"I'm afraid so."
"Well, that is a problem," Serenity said. Then Scrapes and Serenity began to talk to each other, making Liu Kang confused more. After that, she looked at Liu Kang excitedly.
"We should go see Prince Stolas and see what he can do to help us," Serenity said.
"What?" Liu Kang said in confusion.
