Chapter 15: Reunion with Kung Lao and Sad News

Liu Kang went to see who it was when he found himself surrounded by demons. He found the familiar man who was greeted by the young undead girl with long yellow hair and a red ribbon on the back of her head.

"Hello, I'm Venus, but you can call me Minako if you like," the girl said as she found the new arrival attractive.

At that moment, he recognized the new arrival. "Kung Lao!?" He blinked a few times before he smiled in relief. "Kung Lao! I'm so glad to see you!"

When Kung Lao turned around, he revealed himself as a zombie, shocking Liu Kang. His skin had turned blue and his head was almost falling out. It was like he was trying to fix his head, right?

While seeing him like this, he began to feel worried. "Oh, Kung Lao... what happened to you!?"

"Actually, though, I feel great," Kung Lao responded.

"What happened?"

"Shao Kahn murdered me," he answered.

His eyes widened. "What!? Kitana's father!?"

"I don't remember that much after I died," Kung Lao said.

"I know what happened." Suddenly, the male Edendia appeared standing in front of them, making them flinch in shock.

"Who are you!?" Liu Kang said, confused.

"I'm Jerrod, Kitana's real father."

His eyes widened in shock and confusion. "What!? But... isn't Shao Kahn...!?"

"Shao Kahn is not the real father of Kitana, but a stepfather. He invaded Edendia and took my wife and daughter after I was murdered. He had lied to Kitana her entire life while brainwashing Sindel. I knew I had watched them suffer like this while being dead." Jerrod said.

"I'm so sorry, King Jer-- I mean, Jerrod... sir..." Liu Kang said, feeling bad.

"Don't feel bad. I had been dead for ten thousand years." Jerrod said.

"Ten thousand years!?" Kung Lao said in shock.

"Jerrod, can you tell me what happened after what you saw?" Liu Kang asked, wanting to know what happened.

"After Kung Lao was killed, Quan Chi trapped Raiden in Shinnok's Amulet. They also tried to capture Kitana with the Silver Emerald." Jerrod said.

"What!?" Liu Kang said in shock.

"Silver Emerald? What's that?" Kung Lao said, confused.

"The seven Emeralds were created by the Elder Gods. It has given us power. But with the seven Emeralds, it stripped Shinnok's power down and banished him to the Netherrealm. And that was when Raiden decided to hide all the Emeralds in some places. He even gave it to Kitana." Jerrod said.

"But why the seven Emeralds?" Liu Kang asked, confused.

"Quan Chi wanted to collect all of them and give the power back to Shinnok. After that, they will release him from Netherrealm." Jerrod said.

"No way!" Kung Lao exclaimed.

"Jerrod, I have to get back. Madam Bo must be worried sick about me. She even doesn't know Raiden was imprisoned and Kung Lao was killed. How is everybody?" Liu Kang said.

"They're still wondering where you slipped off to," Kung Lao said.

"What about Kitana?"

Jerrod then gave him a sad look. "I'm sorry, Liu Kang."

Liu Kang began to feel worried. "What happened?"

"She's getting married this evening," Jerrod said with a sad look.

"What!? Married to who!?"

"Prince Demande," Jerrod answered sadly.

Then Liu Kang's heart was shattered after finding out. "No... that's impossible...!"

"I'm sorry, Liu Kang, with you gone, I guess they didn't want to waste the cake," Jerrod said.

"H-How could she...?" He asked.

"Liu Kang, it's not what you think," Kung Lao said, hating to see his best friend feeling depressed.

"Women, you can't live with them!" The skeleton said before he collapsed to the ground.

At that moment, Liu Kang became desperate as his heart was still shattered into pieces. He took off leaving. Serenity overheard what happened as she watched him.

"Liu Kang?" Serenity said, worried.

Kitana was in the dressing room, preparing for the wedding dress with the help of Jade. She was depressed as she couldn't believe she was getting married to Prince Demande.

"Oh, Kitana, I'm sorry you had to go through this, but we must leave for church," Jade said with a sad look.

"Yesterday I thought my wedding would be happy. Now I feel like I'm caught in the tide, pulled out of the sea." Kitana said.

"The sea leads to many places, Kitana. Maybe you'll land somewhere better." Jade said, cheering her up as she lifted Kitana's chin to make her look eye in the eyes. After that, the two left the dressing room and headed their way to the church.

"With this candle, I will light your way in darkness." As Demnde continued his vows, he looked over his shoulder and saw Shao Kahn and Saphir sitting there, looking thrilled.

Shao Kahn gave him a nod, allowing him to continue.

Demande nodded back to him as he continued his vows. He then slides the ring through Kitana's finger. "With this ring, I ask you to be mine."

After that, Kitana closed her eyes, feeling depressed.

"I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride," Quan Chi said.

Then Demamde removed her veil and kissed Kitana on the lips. They were now married. He smirked at her, saying quietly, "Now you're mine, Princess Kitana."

She glared at him in response.
