"Look a little to the left."
I moved my head to the photographer's instruction until I saw the satisfied smile on his lips.
"Yes, that's it. Hold that pose." He looked through the viewfinder of the camera once more, continuing to take a series of photos in different angles.
I take in the lights and let the moment sway me. Balik na ako sa ganito, sa buhay sa harap ng camera. Parang noong nakaraan lang na-miss ko ang pagod na dala ng paggalaw-galaw sa buong set, pagtingin sa camera, pakikinig sa mga tao sa likod ng camera kung paano ako dapat mag-pose. But it's only been a day and I'm already taking my words back.
Nakakapagod pala talaga. It's not this feeling that I miss, but the thought that I was doing something, that I was being useful.
It's been two days since I made my statement about the issue. Everything has died down, but it isn't all that quiet. Meron pa ring may nasasabi, meron pa ring mga pilit binabalik ang issue, meron pa ring ayaw makalimot. I get them, hindi naman na maiiwasan ang ganoon.
Today, after resting for days, I'm back to work. I still have issues, most of which are just fake gossip. Marami pa rin akong mga kung ano anong naririnig tungkol sa akin. But most people have already accepted my statement and moved past my issue.
And also, may mga issues man ako, I'm still profitable. Kung hindi naman, I'm sure the brands who asked for me before the issue started won't be coming back now that everything has calmed.
"Let's take a break," the photographer called out on the set. "You did well, Summer," he turned to me, smiling.
I returned the smile, relief taking over my chest upon seeing his expression. His eyes were genuine and kind, full of admiration. Far from some smiles and looks that I see around since my issue.
"Thanks," I said.
Nilapitan ako ni Candace at inabot sa akin ang aking coffee tumbler. She then guided me back to the dressing room. Inayos muli ng makeup artist ang mga kulay sa aking mukha bago siya umalis. They gave me a new set of clothes na tinulungan ako ni Candace na isuot.
The clothes fitted me well like they specifically made them for my size. Although when I sat back down on the makeup chair, some threads tightened around my waist, making it hard to breathe. Humanap pa ako ng tamang posisyon para makahinga nang ayos.
