**Ziggy.**

Three days went by faster than I expected.
But during those three days?
The attention was on Joshua.
Apparently when him and Jayce went to the movies, they had a run in with Devi.
Jayce was tight lipped on what happened.
And Joshua was just as quiet about it.
All we knew?
Was that Devi bit Joshua.

"Good morning, Ziggy." My uncle greeted me Friday morning as I walked into the kitchen, where the rest of the family was.
I managed a weak smile.
"Good morning." I made my way over to the table and took a seat next to Rixley who was devouring her fruity pebble cereal.

"How did you sleep, kiddo?" Hyde asked, sitting up a cup of coffee down in front of me.
From the last four days of living here.
They already picked up on what I liked and didn't like.
And coffee was one of the things, I did like.

"Better actually." I took a sip of the hot beverage, my eyes glued to the mug.
"Kaiser gets to come back to school today." I said, and I felt happy about that.
Despite knowing what I knew.
We were still dating and nothing about him or my friends were different.
But.
It didn't stop me from worrying about Joshua, or the fact..
Zeke would also be making an appearance at our school.

"I bet you're excited." Mitzi teased with a devious grin.
I felt my face grow warm as my uncle rolled his eyes at the other.

"Don't tease him too much, Mitzi." Hyde told the brunette who blinked before grinning.
"It's the only way to make him comfortable here, if you're not playfully teasing, you are not doing your job right. Which reminds me." Her eyes locked on me.

"Are we considered cousins now?" She asked, looking at my uncle who blinked.
"Oh, I suppose you can call yourselves cousins if that's what you'd prefer." He said.

Rixley paused eating her cereal.
"It would make sense, I mean, you are his uncle and you're our dad." She shrugged before resuming eating as Mitzi made a face at the other.

"That reminds me, apparently there was an uproar at silver falls the other day, something about Zeke and Asher leaving our school and going to yours. What's up with that?" Mitzi asked me.
I frowned softly at the other.
"Your guess is as good as mine.. I have no idea why either of them would want to come to Autumn Lake, but, is Nathan also coming?" I asked her.
Mitzi frowned.
"No clue, wait, did Zeke actually talk to you about it?" She questioned.

"My entertainment is at Autumn Lake."
I felt shivers sitting there.
"I wouldn't call it talking, but he did tell me he was coming to my school and that Asher and Nathan would be coming with him." I told her.
Mitzi frowned at me.
"That's weird he'd need those two to come with him." She said.
I could only shrug.

And before I knew it.
I was on my way to school.
----------
I was nervous.
It's only been three days and Kaiser managed to show up during lunch break each day.
But now he was actually here.

I made my way to the parking lot because that's where we all decided to meet up.
I was still getting used to having friends and being involved.
It was such a weird feeling, but they were all welcoming.
Even Stetson and Dorian, surprisingly.

In seconds, Kaiser spotted me and there was this warm feeling as I walked up to the other.
He was smiling softly at me with an open hand.
I took it and he was embracing me before his lips were on mine.

"I hate how cute the two of you are, Kaiser is such a gentleman and you're just the perfect shy type." Rocky whined standing next to Stetson who arched a brow at the other.
"You don't think I can be a gentleman?" He asked him.
Rocky stared.
"No offense, but I know you can't be." He teased as Stetson pulled the other into him, whispering something into Rocky's ear whose face darkened before trying his best not to glare at the other.

Kaiser held me against him.
"I prefer to be this way so it'll keep Ziggy at ease, the last thing I'd ever want to do is make him uncomfortable." He said now.
I looked at the other.
"I.. I appreciate that, but you don't have to do that for me.. I don't want you to be uncomfortable either." I told him.
Kaiser blinked before he smiled softly pulling me into him, his lips taking mine a second time.
"I want to." He told me.
I blushed looking away.

"Ugh, how romantic." Rocky whined as Stetson rolled his eyes.

"Where are the twins?" Devin asked, looking around now as Jackie opened the tailgate to his truck for the two to sit down.
Rocky looked to him.
"I'm sure Jayce is with Dorian, apparently he mustered up the courage to finally tell Dorian yes." He told the other.
Devin's eyes slightly widened.
"That's.. actually surprising? I wonder what brought that on." He frowned.

Rocky's arms crossed as he leaned into Stetson who rested his chin on top of the others head.
"I think a lot of it has to do with who runs this school, and Jayce being scared that Devi is going to come after him." He said.
Devin frowned at the other.
"Jayce has nothing to worry about, he isn't the curious type, not to mention he knows to keep his head down." He commented.

I frowned looking at Kaiser.
"Do.. do you think he'll come after me?"
Kaiser frowned softly at me.
"I don't think so, you met him the other day and he hasn't tried anything has he?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"No.. he just wanted to be friends." I told him.

"A horrible idea." Jackie frowned deeply at me.
"Devi pulls that card with everyone, especially those he knows he can take advantage of. You and Jayce would be optional for him to come after, but weird enough, he hasn't done it yet." He said.
Devin frowned softly at the other.
"The only reason he came after me was because I was angry with the way he talked to Jackie, Devi doesn't like being challenged by humans, and because of my actions? I was-"
"Devin, you don't have to say it." Jackie frowned at the other.
Devin frowned.
"Ziggy needs to know these things, babe, he knows about us so there's no point keeping him in the dark." He said.

Jackie looked at Stetson and Kaiser for back up, but they were both quiet.
It was like they were thinking the same thing.
They agreed with what Devin said.
There was no point keeping me in the dark.
It scared me, but I knew they were right.

Devin looked at me.
"Because I didn't know my place as a human? Devi made an example out of me, he killed me." He told me.
I felt tears burning my eyes as I stood there now, my brows knitted as Devin frowned with crossed arms.

"I wasn't given a chance to decide if I wanted this life, Devi stripped that right from me." He said.
I frowned deeply at the other.
"In the library.. he didn't seem like that." I rubbed my upper arm with knitted brows.
"It's because he wanted to meet the one that had Kaiser acting out, before you showed up? Kaiser never would have gone toe to toe with Magna." He told me.

I looked at Kaiser.
"You acted out for me?" I asked him.
Kaiser blinked before smiling softly.
"For you and for those two." His eyes fell on Jackie who smirked softly.
"I tolerate a lot of things when it comes to Devi, but I won't tolerate him using our friends as an example to get to me." He told me.

Just as he said that, I felt this sickeningly chill race through me when that familiar black dodge charger drove up into the parking lot.
I felt nothing but fear, more fear than when Kaiser confirmed vampires existed and that he was one.

"K-Kaiser." I pushed myself into the other as Kaiser frowned softly at me.
"What's wrong?" He asked me.
My face flushed red.
"That car... i-it's Zeke's." I told him.
Kaiser blinked before glaring as he looked in the direction of the car.
No one had gotten out yet and my whole body was trembling.

"Oh, so we get to kick ass this morning?" Jackie asked.
Devin glared at him.
"Absolutely not, be the bigger person, unless they start something first." He told the other as Jackie pouted.

I couldn't breathe when the car door opened and sure enough.
Both Zeke and Asher were stepping out of the car, but Nathan was still missing.
I didn't like that.

"Don't acknowledge him, focus your thoughts on me." Kaiser whispered as I looked at him with tears in my eyes.
"H-He'll know I'm here, that's the only reason he came to this school." I told him.

My eyes were locked on Zeke who looked around now, before his eyes fell on our group and this amusement appeared on his face.
I felt sick.

"We can go in first." Rocky suggested, his eyes dark as he looked at me.
I looked at Kaiser who nodded.
"Go ahead." He told me.
I nibbled my lip but nodded, moving forward to follow Rocky.

"Aw, not going to welcome me on my first day here?" His voice felt like pins stabbing me all over as I froze.
My eyes were locked on Rocky whose eyes were now black as he glared in Zeke's direction.
I sucked in some air before turning to Zeke who was grinning at me.

"Hi, Zeke." I greeted the other weakly as Zeke stepped forward but Kaiser and Jackie stepped between us.

"Sorry, but we're not the welcoming committee, I don't know where you thought you'd come to this school and harass my boyfriend, but those plans of yours?" Kaiser was in the others face.
"Ends right here." He told him.
Zeke smiled at him as Asher stepped forward.

"I sincerely hope you remember that you can't intimidate other vampires, there is no bite to your bark." Asher told him.
Kaiser arched a brow.
"Would you like to feel the bite of my fist then?" He suggested as Asher grinned.
"I'd love nothing more than to entertain that idea, but word on the street is? This is your first day back from being suspended, pretty sure you'll get expelled if you keep that violent attitude up." He told him.

Fear penetrated me as I made myself step forward, my brows knitted as I grabbed Kaisers sleeve.
"Don't." I looked at Kaiser.
"I don't want you to get expelled over me." I told him.

Kaiser's brows furrowed before growling lowly towards Asher and Zeke.
"Fine, they're not worth it, and we need to get to class anyways." He said now.

"Actually! Ziggy, the two of us need to chat for a minute." Zeke told me as my brows knitted.
"Do we..?" I questioned.
Zeke smiled and it wasn't meeting his eyes.
"We do." He confirmed as I looked at Kaiser who was glaring at the other.

"Spit it out then." Rocky told him.
Zeke looked at the other.
"It's a private conversation." He replied.
"Oh fuck no." Rocky stepped forward but I looked at the other.

"It's fine.. go on ahead." I rubbed the side of my neck looking at Zeke who smirked at me.

Kaiser glared at them before looking at me.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
I was hesitant but nodded anyway.
"Y-Yeah.. I'll be okay, just let my uncle know I might be a few minutes late." I told him.
Kaiser frowned at that before pressing his lips to mine.
"I'm only a phone call away." He told me before walking ahead.

Leaving me alone with the two.

I turned to Zeke with furrowed brows.
"You said it was a private conversation, so why is Asher still here?" I asked him.
"Wow, you have gotten so MOUTHY since you got your ass kicked out of silver falls." Zeke grinned at me.
I frowned at him.
"I.. I'm working on myself." I told him.
Zeke smirked at that.
"And I absolutely hate that, you being mouthy and thinking we owe you answers is just not going to work." Zeke sighed.

"I think you need a reminder of being put in your place." Zeke told me stepping forward.
I stepped back but Asher grabbed my arm.
"L-Let go." I glared at the other.

"Yes, indeed, let go."

My blood ran ice cold looking in the direction of the one I was supposed to avoid.

Devi stood there with this bored look in his dark blue eyes.
My heart was pounding hard against my chest as Devi walked up to us with this brunet that had hazel eyes, and another guy who had messy blond hair and cloudy gray eyes.

Zeke arched a brow at the trio.
"Mind your business." He told Devi who blinked before grinning wickedly at the other.
It made me want to run, but Asher refused to let me go.

"See, this is my school, I run things here and you're telling me to mind my business? This is what, you're first day here and you are already pissing me off." Devi sighed heavily.
"And what's worse? You're a couple of lame ass vampires." He pinched the bridge of his nose.

"The fuck did you say?" Asher finally let me go as he approached the other.
Devi never lost the boredom in his eyes as he looked at the other.
"Are you hard of hearing? I called your dumb ass lame, do I need to write it down for you as well?" He asked.

Asher glared harshly.
"Fucking piece of-"
"Ash, don't entertain him. He's not worth it." Zeke yawned.

My brows knitted as Devi smiled icily at the other.
"If we were not on school grounds, you'd be regretting that sentence." He told Zeke who smirked now.
"Did I pinch a nerve just now?" He asked.

Asher walked over to Zeke.
"Let's go." He told him.

Zeke's eyes were locked with Devi's before he looked in my direction.
"You and I are not finished, see you later." He smiled walking away from us.

I stood there trying to breathe as Devi approached me.
This was the one who killed Devin.
Who was the reason Kaiser got suspended.
The one I wasn't supposed to be around.

"Such fun thoughts." Devi smiled at me as my brows knitted.
"W-Why did you step in?" I asked him.
Devi blinked before looking past me then shrugged as him and the other two walked past me.

"I told you didn't I? You and I are going to be great friends." He smirked before walking ahead.

I stood there.
Something tells me.
With Devi showing up more?
Things are fixing to get better and worse.
Not just for me.

But for Joshua as well.
