**Ziggy.**

When the morning came.
I had to remind myself I was at the lake house, and not at my aunts house.
I didn't want to move.
I wanted to stay exactly like this.
Maybe it was the depression catching up to me.

I went to turn over but stopped, there were arms still wrapped around me.
I looked over my shoulder and felt my heart racing.
Kaiser was asleep behind me.
His face was so relaxed as he laid there.

I laid there for what felt like forever.
My thoughts kept reminding me of last night.
The kiss.
How angry Kaiser was getting for my sake.
And then the kiss before bed.

"You know..."
My eyes slightly widened when Kaiser's eyes slowly opened.
"It's rude to stare." He teased.
My face grew red as I looked away.
"S-Sorry."
Kaiser rubbed his eyes before smiling softly.
"Don't be, it's actually alright, but you did seem like you had a lot on your mind." He pointed out.

My brows knitted before frowning softly.
"Not really.. I'm just not sure how things are going to turn out tomorrow when I go back to my aunts." I replied.
Kaiser sat up as I joined him.
"I can go there with you if it'll make things easier." He offered.
I shook my head.
"N-No, the last time someone came there, it didn't end well. I do appreciate you wanting to help me, but.." I looked at him.
"I'll be okay." I managed a soft smile at the other.

Kaiser blinked before he sighed, rubbing the side of his neck, he reached and cupped my face.
"Fine, it's not like you're living there after this weekend, just.. be careful." He told me.
I stared at him before smiling softly as I relaxed into the others touch.
"I will be." I said with promise.

Kaiser's eyes searched mine, he smiled softly.
"Are you hungry?" He questioned.
I blinked before my face grew warm.
"Mhm.." I nodded.

Kaiser smiled as he got out of bed first, my eyes followed him as my face grew hot.
"H-Hey, Kaiser?" I called out to the other who paused and turned to me.
"Yeah?"
I sat there like a blushing mess.
"Um.. c-can we.." I couldn't find the words sitting there as my face burned with embarrassment.

Kaiser blinked before smiling softly as he made his way over to me.
"You're lucky I'm so nice and not Stetson or Dorian, because this shy act gets you bullied in the way you're not ready for yet." He told me.
I looked up at him confused as he brushed my bangs back before his lips were on mine.

When he broke the kiss, my eyes were on him.
"When?" I questioned.
Kaiser arched a brow.
"When what?" He questioned, this amusement on his face looking at me.
I placed my hands between my legs as I looked away.
"When do you think... I'll be ready?" I asked him.

I let out a startled gasp at how fast he pinned me to the bed, hovering over me as my eyes locked with his.
There was fear, because all this reminded me of, was when Zeke did it.
And I wasn't sure why.
But Kaiser's eye twitched with irritation looking down at me.

"Kaiser..?" I could feel the tears swelling in my eyes as Kaiser blinked before that expression of his vanished.
"Not any time soon, you need time to heal, especially when you get out of that house." He got off the bed a second time as my eyes followed him.

"Are you mad at me?" I asked.
Kaiser turned to me.
"Absolutely not, I don't think there's anything you could do to make me mad." His eyes locked on me.
"What makes me mad, is the people who have mentally scarred you." He told me.

I sat there before frowning softly.

"Come on." My eyes fell back on him as he smiled softly.
"Let's go cook breakfast." He said.
--------
"Is everyone else still asleep?" I questioned walking into the kitchen with Kaiser who was looking through the fridge and pantry.
"That or they're faking it, because they know that whoever wakes up first, is on breakfast duty." Kaiser explained.
I blinked.
"Oh.. so is that why you're cooking?" I asked him.
Kaiser turned to me, grinning softly.
"It's why, you and I are cooking." He corrected me.

"We're going to make eggs and pancakes, it's easy enough and doesn't require a whole lot of ingredients." He explained.
I nodded as he handed me the carton of eggs.
"There are ten of us, so I'd go ahead and crack all of those eggs and place them in the bowl." Kaiser told me.
I blinked but nodded as I began cracking eggs.

"I've never done this before." I found myself saying out loud as Kaiser looked to me.
"You've never cooked before?"
I shook my head.
"I was too young when my parents were here, and my aunt never let me in the kitchen.. I mean, she let her own kids in the kitchen, but for some reason. I was never allowed to help with anything, and because it looked like I never helped, my uncle always yelled at me for it." I said frowning softly.

"You are really making me hate that side of your family, more and more."

My eyes fell on Rocky who walked out of the bedroom, he still had bed head and looked half awake.

"O-Oh, good morning, Rocky." I greeted the other teen who rubbed his eyes with a yawn.
"Good morning, Zigzag, what did Kaiser assign you to cook?" Rocky questioned.
I blinked.
"Oh, um, eggs." I wanted to feel happy about that.
No scratch that.
I was happy.

"Do you have them all mixed together?" Kaiser looked over my shoulder as Rocky watched the two of us, there was tired amusement in the others baby blue eyes.

I nodded as Kaiser smiled softly.
"Good job, now, you'll come over to the stove and place the mixture into the skillet." He told me as I followed after him.
I did as instructed and watched the eggs.
"Just make sure you scrape the side of the skillet, so the eggs don't stick or burn." Kaiser explained.
I nodded as I cooked the eggs in silence.

And before I knew it.
Everyone was awake and we were all eating breakfast.

It felt like a dream, getting to enjoy something like this with everyone else.

"Who cooked the eggs?" I heard Jackie question.
Kaiser locked eyes with the other.
"Ziggy, why?" He asked.
Jackie stared before his eyes fell on me, before giving me a thumbs up.

"He did a good job."

My eyes slightly widened looking up at him.
"I.. did?" I questioned.
Jackie looked at me before smirking softly.
"You did, don't tell me this was your first time cooking?"

I looked down as the tears returned and Jackie's eyes grew wide.
"Shit-- sorry, I didn't-"

"Ziggy." My brows knitted looking to Kaiser who smiled softly.
"He was praising you, so why are you getting teary eyed?" He asked me.
I stared at my plate as I rubbed my eyes.
"Because I was scared I was going to mess up, I've never cooked before so I was nervous the whole time.."
"But you did a good job." Kaiser placed his hand on top of my head.
"No one here is going to get mad at you," he looked over his shoulder to those behind him.
"I won't let them." He said.

Stetson, Dorian and Jackie all rolled their eyes, as if they were actually the types to get mad if something wasn't cooked right.
---------
"How about we go hiking today?" Rocky suggested later that day as I blinked.
"That sounds like fun." I agreed.
Rocky grinned.
"It's definitely fun, especially with all the sight seeing-"

"You mean sight seeing of trees?" Stetson arched a brow at the other.
Rocky stared before rolling his eyes.
"Yes and no, there are also small animals we might see, and birds and-"

"I want to go." I said now, feeling excited.
Rocky looked to me before grinning.
"Get your shoes on." He told me.

I nodded running back into the bedroom to find Kaiser changing.
Thankfully, it was just his upper half exposed.
My face grew red as he turned to me.

"You seem like you're in a rush, where are you going?" He asked me.
I blinked.
"Oh, hiking." I told him.
Kaiser stared before nodding as he grabbed his shoes as well.
"Perfect, I'll go as well, I'm sure this was Rocky's idea?" He questioned.
I nodded as he smiled softly.
"Then let's get going." He told me.
--------
"I know it was easy for Kai to agree, but how did the rest of us get roped into this?" Jackie complained while walking through the woods.
"We need the fresh air, and you need exercise." Devin told him.
"I'm not even fat!" Jackie whined.

I walked next to Kaiser, looking around with wide eyes full of curiosity.
But I paused hearing a beautiful sound to the left of us.
Without thinking.
My hand left Kaiser's as I ran in the direction of the sound.

"Ziggy, wait!" I heard Rocky call after me.

I ran right out into a clearing, that also brought us to a cliff with nothing but trees underneath and further out.
The sun was right in front of us as my eyes grew wide.

"Why did you run off?" Rocky jogged up as the others followed after us.
I stared at the sun trying to set.
"I heard a pretty sound." I said.

"What you were hearing, was an elk calling for its mate." I heard Kaiser explained joining us on the cliff as I looked out towards the woods.
"An elk?"
"It's part of the deer family, they never come towards the lake house, which is unfortunate but it's also safer for them to be out there." Kaiser told me.

I blinked looking back out towards the woods.

I didn't want this to end.
I didn't want to forget about sharing these moments with everyone.
High school wasn't forever.
And I knew, once Kaiser and the others all graduated.
They'd go in different directions.
Right?

"No." I heard Kaiser say as I turned to him confused.
"No?" I repeated.
Kaiser blinked.
"Oh, I was thinking out loud. I was saying no to the idea of hamburgers for supper, you and I just had them the other day." He smiled softly.
My brows knitted but I nodded.

And unfortunately.
Time went by faster than I wanted it to.
Because before I knew it.
It was Sunday and we were all heading back into town.
--------
"It's just one more day." Kaiser told me in the car as he drove down the road, we were only a few minutes away from my aunts house, and I was anything but excited to go back there.
"I know." I said tightly.
Don't get emotional.
It'll be okay.
We told Kaiser it would be okay.

When the house came into view.
I felt sick sitting there.
I didn't want to get out.
But I knew I had to.

"I'll see you in the morning, Ziggy." Kaiser leaned over, cupping my face as my breath hitched, before his lips were on mine.
My heart was racing as those nerves vanished, for only a second.

I stepped out of the car and watched Kaiser drive away.
Don't cry.

Sucking in some air, I grabbed my bag and made my way towards that house.
There were no good memories here.
Not for me anyway.

I was hesitant but walked inside the house.

"Sounds like the fags finally home." I heard Kylo announce.
Bryce's friends were here?
Why..?

"Is that you, Ziggy?" I heard my aunt question.
"It is." I responded.
"Come into the family room." She told me.

My legs felt heavy but I did so.
And wanted to run.

It was my aunt and uncle, Bryce's friends and Zeke.
He kept showing up here, and I knew there was nothing good coming from him being here.

"Did you have a good time?" My aunt questioned, and she actually sounded curious.
My brows knitted, but I nodded.
My aunt seemed relieved.
"Good, listen, I know the other day the way we handled Andrew being here, wrong. He was just watching out for you, and the way your uncle responded to you wanting to leave, was also wrong." Her eyes fell on my uncle who was staring hard at me.

"But, the unexpected happened and on Friday, we were requested to come to a court hearing. Andrew demanded custody of you, and with the pictures he showed the court and the explanation behind it, it was pretty obvious we'd lose." She explained.

I stood there in silence, frowning softly at her.
"Andrew won full custody of you, and I know that's probably the best thing for you. If he had been here for the funeral, you would have went with him." She told me.
"But that's not how it happened, so, you'll take tonight to pack your things, so you can be picked up by child services tomorrow morning." She said.

I blinked before nodding.
There wasn't anything for me to say at that point.
And I knew, if I had.
It would only be fuel for my uncle to get angry.
--------
I walked into the bedroom and began packing.
It didn't take long at all.
Given the fact, I only had a few shirts and other things.
On the holidays, I was never given gifts.
I was just told to be grateful to be there.

I crawled into bed that night.
My final night.

I felt my body relaxing as my eyes closed.
But.
The feeling of something sliding up my shirt, made my body shift as my brows knitted.
Just like the time before.
A hand clamped over my mouth to keep me from screaming.
Nothing could prepare me for what happened next.

Teeth that felt like fangs were piercing my neck.
I could smell the blood soaking my pillow as I tried to fight.
But I had no strength compared to the one above me.

And before I knew it.

I was losing consciousness, completely.
