**Ziggy.**

"I'd rather go to a school where my entertainment is, your school is called Autumn Lake, right?"

My eyes opened as I laid in my new bed.
My heart racing with my face flushed.
I was already worried about Kaiser not being at school for the next three days, now I have to worry about someone I don't even know and then there was also Zeke.

I sat up in bed and looked out the window, it was still night out.
Glancing to the time, my brows furrowed seeing that it was five am.
Another sleepless night.

I gathered my clothes for the new day and made my way to the bathroom.
I was nervous, living in uncle Mitchell's house felt like it was going to be a dream that never happened.
But it did, and his family is so nice.
I didn't know how to adjust to it after being treated so poorly at my aunts.

I ran the hot water before undressing and got in the tub, the water helped wake me up as I stood there.
There was also the issue about how vampires existed.
How was I supposed to ask or tell Rocky and the others?
Would they think I was crazy, or would they stop talking to me..?
Would Kaiser want to break up?

Suddenly, this was starting to depress me a lot more than I wanted it to.

When I got out of the shower, I could smell the scent of fresh brewed coffee.
That sounded nice.
I got dressed in my school clothes and stepped out of the bathroom.

"Oh." My eyes met blue ones as Mitzi stood there.
"I guess you're an early riser as well?" She questioned.
I blinked before rubbing the side of my neck.
"Not.. really, I just couldn't sleep." I told her.
Mitzi stared before tilting her head.
"Well, it was your first night in a new house, but it'll grow on you." She smiled softly.
"You're safe here, Ziggy." She told me before walking into the bathroom.

I was safe here?
I looked to the door, I wanted to say more, but I didn't want to bother her.
That did make me feel better though, knowing I was in a home where I would be safe.

I walked down the hall and stairs, before quietly making my way towards the kitchen.

Both my uncle and Hyde were in there, my uncle was at the table drinking coffee while Hyde whisked something in a bowl.

"I think there's a mouse in the house." I heard Hyde announce as my heart began to race standing there.
My uncle blinked before smiling softly at the other.
"I think you might be right, why are you up so early?" His attention fell on me as my face grew warm.

"O-Oh, sorry.. I wasn't trying to-"
"Ziggy, come here." My uncle smiled softly at me as my brows knitted before approaching the other.

My uncle looked at me.
"The first thing you should know by living here? We like to joke and tease a lot, it's what any adult likes to do to children so they can feel at ease. No one here is ever going to raise their voice at you, unless you've done something that would end in you needing to be scolded for, we are also a non violent family. Communication is key here, if you or someone else in this house doesn't see eye to eye, you talk about it, but you never get into an argument. Do you understand?" He asked me.

I blinked before nodding.
My uncle smiled softly.
"This is your home and we are your family, I know it's going to take some adjusting, but know that we will support you in every way we know how to. I wasn't blood related to your mom or dad, but you are still my nephew, no matter what." He grinned.
I felt this wave of emotions rushing through me.
I really wanted to cry.

"Now, back to my previous question, what has you up so early? School isn't for another three hours." My uncle pointed out.
I looked at him before frowning softly.
"I couldn't sleep, and I guess.. I didn't have a very good dream." I said.

My uncle frowned at me.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked me.
I shook my head which made the other smile softly.
"I understand, well if there's anything you ever want to talk about, my door is always open." He told me.
--------
I didn't like arriving at school that morning, Kaiser's car was nowhere in sight and it made me feel lonely not seeing him.
It's only been a week since I've known him, and I had this weird feeling towards him..
Like, I craved for him to be near me.

"Zigzag!"
I turned to Rocky who walked up to me with the twins.
"How are you feeling?" He asked me.
I rubbed my upper arm.
"Better but nervous.. Kaiser's not here.." I frowned softly.
Rocky blinked as he looked around.
"Oh yeah, that is weird-"

"He.. He got suspended yesterday." I said as Joshua's eyes grew wide.
"No way? That's so unlike him, I wonder what set Kaiser off?" He questioned.

Rocky frowned at the other before his eyes fell on me.
"Do you know what happened?" He asked.
I nibbled my bottom lip.
"Only that.. he was defending a friend, by the way.. who is Devi? I've heard his name before, but-"

"He's no one for you to worry about."
I turned and felt shy seeing Stetson, Dorian, Kyrie and Jackie walking up with Devin.
My brows knitted.
"But-"

"Who did Kaiser get into a fight with yesterday that landed him in suspension?" Rocky asked with an arched brow, he was looking right at Stetson.
Stetson frowned at the other.
"He had a run in with Magna, the two threw fists and they were both suspended. Kaiser would have been off the hook if he hadn't swung back, but that moron did exactly what he wanted him to do." He said.

I looked at the other confused.
"What who wanted?" I asked.
"No one for you to worry about." Stetson told me.

"STOP SAYING THAT!" I yelled as my face flushed red, my brows knitted as I refused to look at anyone now.
"A-All anyone here does is worries about me, I'm not some damsel in distress. I can handle bullies, I handled them back at silver falls when they'd b-beat me, if that's what you're worried about. I can take it." I felt my eyes tearing up.
"I know I'm weak, I know I'm easy to pick on, but I don't like being left in the dark. If this person is so bad, I want to know who to keep my eyes open for, I already have to worry about Z-Zeke getting enrolled in this school, so please." My fists balled up as I stared hard at the ground, tears slipping.
"Stop worrying about me for a moment, and just answer my question." I said.

"Well hot damn, that's the most I've heard the kid speak, and Kaiser missed every second of it." Jackie grinned.

Dorian looked to Stetson who was pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Stetson-"
"I know." Stetson rolled his eyes before looking at me.

"Listen kid-"
"Ziggy." I corrected as Stetson blinked, meanwhile Jackie had to back up to control his laughter.
Stetson stared before smirking softly.
"My bad, listen, Ziggy." He corrected himself.

"Kaiser is a very protective person, and now that the two of you are dating, he wants to make sure you are safe when he's not around. You said it yourself, you are weak, and if this person finds you? It won't end well, I don't know how that Zeke kids brain worked back at silver falls, but this guy? He's cruel, he likes to hurt others in a sadistic way and will literally showcase it off like a trophy. He's not good." He told me.

I frowned softly.
"Is he the reason why Kaiser was suspended?" I asked him.
Stetson frowned before rubbing the side of his neck.
"In short? Yeah, Devi says things that he knows will upset Kaiser, and unfortunately? Kai sucks at hiding his emotions, so Devi used that to his advantage and it led to Kai and Magna getting into a fight yesterday." He explained.

My brows knitted as I looked away now.
"I will say though." I looked back to Stetson who smirked at me.
"You speaking up for yourself a moment ago? It was impressive, it sucks ass that Kai missed out, but I'm sure it'd make him proud knowing you had the courage to yell at someone like me." He told me.

I frowned at him.
"O-Oh, I'm so-"
"No-" My eyes widened when Jackie's hand clamped over my mouth.
"Do not apologize." Jackie grinned wickedly at Stetson now.
"If you apologize to this guy, it'll make him look superior. Don't say squat to him." He told me before removing his hand.
I blinked before nodding.
---------
Homeroom felt empty without Kaiser sitting next to me.
I didn't like it.
And I had to go through two more days of not seeing him.
Oh.
I almost forgot he did mention he would come by during lunch, so that would make today a little better.

During fourth period, I ended up using free time to go to the library.
There were some books I wanted to check out, and it was the only class I had without any friends in it.
So no one would question why I wanted to go check out books.
I really wanted to bring the vampire thing up to them.
But I didn't know how.

I walked down one of the aisles and grabbed a few old books about vampire history and culture.
I knew I looked insane.

I walked over to one of the empty tables and sat down with my books, I wanted to know more and what to look for when it came to vampires.
Zeke exposed himself and I was still unsure why.
It terrified me, but it woke up some curious side of me as well.

"Well, that's interesting."
I felt my blood run ice cold at the unfamiliar voice.
I looked to my right and felt this sick feeling at the pale teen with bleach blond hair and dark blue eyes, they almost looked black.
He was in a dark maroon shirt and gray jeans.

"I'm sorry! Did I scare you?" He smiled apologetically before sitting down.
I felt nervous before looking back at the books.
"O-Oh, a little, but I scare easy." I gave a weak smile as I looked at the page, not taking a single thing in as the other sat there.
"You scare easy, yet you're reading about vampires?" The blond grinned as I blinked before my face grew warm.

"Oh.. yeah, I guess it's a little weird-"
"Why the interest?" He asked me.
I looked back to the other.
"Interest..?"
"In vampires." The blond smiled.
"There's nothing good about them." He told me.

I stared before looking back at the book.
"Maybe not.. but, I guess for personal reasons, I'd like to learn about them." I replied.
The blond arched a brow before resting his arms on the table and rested his chin on top of them.
"Maybe I can help? What are you trying to learn about them?" He questioned.
I blinked before looking at the page.

"If they're like in the books, where the sunlight kills them, or if they rely on blood to survive.. If.. If their eyes change color." I said.

The blond stared before grinning.
"Such basic silly questions."
I frowned at the other.
"The questions are silly to you?"
"They are-"
"But why?" I asked him.

The blond stared before looking at the books.
"It's just typical questions for someone to ask, when you're wanting to learn about vampires. I was assuming you'd ask if they could blend in with humans, or if they really existed." The blond laughed.
"But you're over here wanting to know if the sun kills them or if blood is how they survive, you are a strange one." The blond grinned at me.

I looked at him before closing the book.
"Yeah.. I guess I am strange." I said getting to my feet now as the blond watched me.

"By the way." I turned to the other but froze when he was right in my face now.
"Are you new here?" He asked.
I wanted to step back as my brows knitted.

"Y-Yes..? I arrived here a week ago." I answered.
The blond's eyes lit up.
"I thought so! Listen-"
"Ziggy." My face grew warm.
"We didn't exchange names, I'm Ziggy Jones." I told the other.
The blond grinned.
"I love that name." He stepped up to me as I stepped back but my back was met with a bookshelf.

"You and I are going to be great friends, tell me, are you dating anyone?" He asked.
I blushed.
"O-Oh, yes. I'm actually-"

"Ziggy!"
I blinked and fell out of whatever trance that was when I saw Rocky at the door of the library, out of breath with his eyes right on me.
"Rocky-"
I couldn't even react before the other teen was storming right up to us and snatching my wrist away from the blonds.

"Well that was pretty rude, Rocky." The blond pouted at the other as Rocky shoved me behind him, glaring at the other.
"Get over it, let's go." Rocky stormed away from the other with me in tow as I looked over my shoulder to the blond before following after Rocky.

"R-Rocky-"
"What were you thinking? Why were you alone in the library? What did that guy say to you?" Rocky asked me.
My brows knitted.
"W-We were just talking, he said he wanted to be friends-"
"No." Rocky told me.
My eyes glistened with tears looking at him.
"N-No? But-"

"Ziggy, that guy you were talking to? That was Devi." He told me.
My blood ran ice cold.
He seemed perfectly normal.
I didn't know what the big deal was.

Rocky looked at me before sighing softly.
"He didn't hurt you or say anything weird, did he?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"He just wanted to know if I was dating anyone-"
"Did you answer him?"
"Almost." I frowned.
"But then you showed up." I told the other.

Rocky frowned before retaking my hand more gently now.
"Good thing I did, come on." He told me heading in the direction of the cafeteria.
"It's pizza Monday, plus, your boyfriend is in the parking lot waiting to see you." He told me.

I felt my heart skip hearing that.
The excitement returned as I smiled softly following after the other.

I know we saw each other for a moment yesterday.
But after today so far?

I definitely wanted to see Kaiser.
