**Ziggy**

The next day came sooner than I wanted it to.
It would be my first day at a new school.
Where I'd know no one.
It caused an unpleasant knot to appear in my stomach as I stood at my closet, trying to decide what I would be wearing.

Autumn Lake High..
An all boys school, part of me wanted to feel excited that I might make real friends.
The other part was worried, I would meet more people like Zeke.
"To get rid of your annoying ass."
Those words kept reappearing in my mind as I grabbed a dark blue shirt and gray jeans.
I stared at myself in the mirror as I frowned softly at my reflection.

There was a knock on the bedroom door before my aunt pushed it open.
Her eyes on me.
"Almost ready?" She asked me.
I blinked before nodding, I looked back to my reflection before grabbing my bags and followed her out of the bedroom.

"At least he's not dressed like a fag." Bryce was the first to comment in the kitchen.
My uncle wouldn't even look at me as he sat at the table, drinking his coffee with his eyes glued to his phone.
"He's not a fag Bryce, he's dating that nice girl, Lexi." He corrected my cousin who scoffed with a grin.
"Sure, dating." He said with quoting fingers.

"We're leaving." My aunt walked over to my uncle and gave him a quick kiss.
"Have a good day at work, hon." He told her as she nodded heading for the door.

"Ziggy." I paused hearing my uncle calling my name.
Frowning, I turned to the other.
"Yes?"
My uncle's eyes locked on me.
"Don't get kicked out of this school, behave or you and I are going to have issues." He told me.

Well if that didn't ruin my morning, I would have been lying.
That wasn't the kind of pep talk I needed.
Instead, I was being threatened on my first day.

Bryce only stood there with a smug look on his face, watching me as I frowned before following my aunt outside and to her car.
----
"Maybe you'll make friends who will want to do stuff after school, maybe even have weekend activities." My aunt's voice brought me from thought on the drive to the new school.
I looked to her and it was like my silence was the response she needed before she smiled softly.

"I know you hate living under the same roof as them, your uncle and cousin do not try to make it easy for you and that's the part I feel bad about. You're just a kid, you shouldn't be treated so wrongly by them, but it is who your uncle and cousin are. They're cruel about things they don't understand, that's why, if you find friends at this school," she looked to me.
"That'll be your escape from that house." She told me pulling into the school parking lot.

I sat there before letting out a soft sigh.
"Maybe.. I'll see you after school." I replied.
My aunt watched me before nodding as I got out of the car and she drove away.

I stood at the entrance of the building and felt sick to my stomach.
Well.
Here we go.
------
"It says you were expelled from Silver Falls because of a prank that caused the explosion of a car and other damages were made?" The principal sat at his desk with another man who stood behind him, but his green eyes were locked on me.

I frowned while sitting there.
"A classmate put me up to it, I had no idea the prank would cause anything to explode." I responded as the brown haired man looked up from the papers, his blue eyes on me.
"Do you usually do whatever your classmates tell you to do?" He asked me.
I felt my face growing warm.
I looked away and frowned hearing the principal sigh.

"Mr.Jones, here at Autumn Lake, we have our fair collection of delinquents, trouble makers and flaming homosexuals. We also have students here who have major temperaments, which sometimes leads to fights. Our school deceives a lot of people just based on its name alone, so imagine my surprise when I receive almost a whole book report from your uncle telling me how much of a handful you're going to be, and how you act out for attention." He frowned at me as my brows knitted sitting there.
"Sir-"
"But when you walked into my office just now, all I could see was a misunderstood boy who definitely needs a second chance." He told me as my eyes widened.

The principal stood to this feet as I joined him.
"I don't know your life story Ziggy Jones, but I do know you don't look like the kid who causes issues for those around him, so the files your old school sent me and the book report your uncle emailed? All deleted and removed." He outstretched his hand with a soft smile.

"This is your chance to start over, the lady at the front desk will give you your schedule, and it's wonderful to have you here." He told me.
I stared before shaking the others hand.
"T-Thank you sir." I smiled softly before walking out of the office and walked next door to get my schedule.
-----
"Homeroom is History, Mr.Mitchell..." That last name sounded familiar as I looked around and at the doors.
I definitely hated being the new kid, especially when class had already started.

I stared at the closed door and sighed before knocking.
I could hear the chatter from the inside die down into silence before I heard footsteps making their way to the door.

A teenager stood there with messy blond hair and piercing hazel blue eyes, he wore a black and white striped shirt and blue jeans.
"Oh." He stared at me before looking over his shoulder.

"Teach, it's fresh meat!" He announced which earned soft laughter in the room.
"Jackie, we do not refer to students as fresh meat, so please refrain from doing so!" A man hissed before making his way over to the door.

"He-- Ziggy?" The man stood there with wide hazel eyes.
I was just as much in shock looking back at him.
"Uncle Mitchell?" I questioned.
We stared at each other before my uncle grinned at me.
"Long time no see brat, but come on in." He motioned for me to follow him into the classroom.

"Alright you brats, we've got ourselves a new face, this is Ziggy Jones!" He announced at the students who were all sitting in their desks, facing us.
"He is also my nephew, so I'd like for all of us to try and get along. Fair enough?" He questioned.

A student with dirty blond hair and blue eyes raised his hand, this lazy look in his eyes even though they were locked on me.

"So we're going to expect favoritism, is that what we're hearing, teach?" He asked.
There were grins around the room, as if knowing this guy was going to say something.

My uncle stared before he smiled.
"Absolutely not, even though Ziggy is my nephew, he is also a student. The rules apply to him as much as they apply to all of you." He answered before scanning the room.

"Ziggy, why don't you go have a seat at the desk next to Mr.Montoya?" He told me.
I blinked before nodding.
"Okay." I replied before walking past the other students who were all eyeing me up and down.
Yeah.
I definitely felt like fresh meat.

I took a seat next to this teen with ear length blond hair, he wore a black shirt and blue jeans.
He was really attractive.
When his dark blue eyes glanced to me, I quickly looked away.
There was a grin on the others face as he relaxed more in his desk as I grabbed my books for class.

I could feel my phone buzzing as I frowned deeply, I quietly pulled it out to see a text message from Lexi.
["YOU WERE EXPELLED AND DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME?!"]
How was she just now finding this out?
I stared before frowning as I tucked my phone away.

For the remainder of class, I listened to my uncle teach before telling us to read chapter three through five to ourselves.

I blinked when I saw this paper slide onto my desk.
My brows furrowed before looking in the direction of the blond who paid no attention to me.
Frowning, I opened it.

-Before the wrong person sees, you should fix your fly.- I blinked a few times before looking down and my face flushed red.
Another grin appeared on his face as he resumed reading.

I could no longer think as I sat there.
Well, there was the main question.
Did my other uncle know that his brother worked here?
Or was this a major coincidence?
Not that I minded, ever since I was a kid, I preferred uncle Mitchell over my uncle Tony.

I just wonder if he hadn't missed the funeral and arrangement, if I would have ended up at his house instead.
Part of me wished that's what could have happened.

When the bell rang for class swap, I stood to my feet as I gathered my things.
The blond was one of the first to leave the classroom.

"Ah, Ziggy, can I talk to you for a minute?" My uncle questioned.

"There it is, the favoritism.~" The blond from earlier sang as he walked out with two who were grinning at me.

My uncle only sighed.
"Ignore them, Quin likes to stir up trouble, it'll pass." He told me as I walked over to him.
"I'm used to it, did uncle Tony plan this?" I asked him.
My uncle blinked before frowning.
"Ah no, pure coincidence. I'm sure if he knew I was a teacher here, you would be at another school. Which brings me to ask, why are you at this school and not Silver Falls?" He questioned.

I frowned at him.
"I was expelled because of a prank a classmate set me up to do, it caused a car to explode plus other damages were made." I answered.
My uncle stared before my eyes grew wide hearing him break out into laughter.

"Uncle..?"
"I'm sorry, it's not funny." He laughed, wiping his eyes.
"I mean it kind of is, but as your teacher I shouldn't laugh. Was the other kid expelled?" He questioned.
I frowned shaking my head.
"Just me." I told him.

My uncle frowned deeply.
"Is there a reason he wasn't?" He asked me.
I could only shrug.
"No one wants a confused kid in their school I guess." I told him.
My uncle rolled his eyes in response to that.
"They're just closed minded, but anyways, you should head on to second period. We'll be seeing each other a lot more going forward." He told me with a soft smile.
I blinked but nodded with a smile as I walked out of the classroom.
------
I walked down the hall looking at my schedule, my next class was math.
One of my weaker subjects.

"Looking lost, new kid."

I paused and turned to a teen with curly black hair and soft blue eyes.
He stood there with an amused grin on his face as I blinked.

"O-Oh, is it obvious?"
The teen grinned at me.
"Very, where are you heading?" He asked me.
I stared before looking at the sheet of paper.
"Math." I answered.
"Oh easy, me too."

I looked at him as the teen smiled.
"I'm Rocky Stone, by the way." He introduced himself as I blinked before smiling softly.
"I'm Ziggy Jones." I replied.
Rocky grinned.
"Cool cool, well Zigzag, let's get going before we face the wrath of Mr.Gentry." He told me.

"Hold on, did you just call me Zigzag?" I arched a brow at the other.
Rocky grinned.
"Bad habit of mine, I like giving out nicknames that no one asks for. If you hate it, just ignore me." He shrugged.
I blinked before rubbing the side of my neck.
"I don't exactly hate it, I've just never been given one before." I frowned.

Rocky stared.
"Alright that's fucking sad, your nickname is definitely Zigzag now." He told me.
I stared before smiling softly.
"Okay." I agreed, following him into the next classroom.

"Oh good he's finally here." A new voice spoke up as this pale teen walked up with another who looked almost identical to him.
Twins?

"I was giving the new kid a nickname, why were you waiting on me?" Rocky questioned the first blond who had no visible freckles on his face, compared to the other who did have a few visible freckles.

"We need to figure out how this weekend is going to work out, obviously it's us but now Jackie is hinting his friends want to go." The blond told him.
Rocky stared.
"So let them come? We don't have beef with those guys, it's Devi's group we have beef with." He shrugged.

The shorter blond peeked around Rocky who paused before stepping aside.

"Oh right! Guys, this is Zigzag, also known as the new kid. Ziggy Jones." He introduced me before grinning at the twins.
"Ziggy, this is Joshua and Jayce. Although they're painfully almost identical, they are the polar opposite with personalities." He told me.

I blinked before nodding as I looked to the two.
"It's nice to meet you." I said.

"WOW, your voice actually matches your face." The one known as Joshua stepped up smiling at me.
"I've seen students whose voices DO NOT fit them at all, your voice is really soft but there is almost a deepness to it? Sort of like honey." He told me.

I stared.
So not only was I given a weird nickname I already liked, but now my voice sounded like food?
I really hope lunch gets here soon.

I felt this chill when another person walked into the room.
It was the blond from before.
I watched him go to the back of the classroom, taking a seat at a desk.

"Who is that?" I found myself asking.
Rocky looked in the others direction before rolling his eyes.
"Trouble, I'd stay far away from him, but that's Kaiser Montoya." He told me.

I watched the blond before focusing back on Rocky and the twins.

So he had a name like that? It made me feel nervous, but more curious than anything.
If he's trouble.
I wonder if we'd ever be friends.
I mean.

I did make a car explode after all.

I guess we'll find out sooner or later.
Won't we?
