**Ziggy.**
"I've never been here before." I found myself saying as I stepped out of the car with Kaiser.
He stared at me before letting out a soft sigh, he ran a hand through his hair.
"That's honestly a shame, Deans is a popular restaurant, it's been around for what seems like decades now. Your parents never brought you here?" He asked me.
I felt frozen for a moment, just standing there with my eyes locked on Kaiser.
There was this sudden coolness that ran through my body, but I ignored that feeling and just smiled softly at the other.
"No." I answered as Kaiser frowned softly but managed a smile of his own.
"Alright, let's head inside, I don't know about you but I'm starved." He grinned.
I felt my face grow warm before nodding as I followed the other into the restaurant.
There was soft music playing in the background, and thankfully it wasn't very packed in here either.
I was dreading the idea of running into anyone from Silver Falls.
I didn't need that.
Not when Kaiser was going out of his way to treat me to a meal.
At least.
I think he's treating me..
"Heya kids, are we sitting at a table or booth?" The waitress smiled brightly at the two of us.
Kaiser smiled softly, his eyes on me.
"Where would you like to sit?" He asked me.
I blushed.
"O-Oh.. I guess a booth is fine?" I answered.
The waitress and Kaiser both smiled before she led us to an empty booth.
"Alright, and what can I get you two to drink?" She asked.
I stared before looking down at the closed menu.
"Water is fine." I told her.
Kaiser stared before smiling softly.
"The ticket is mine, if you'd like something else to drink." He told me.
I blinked looking up.
"Are you sure..?"
Kaiser smiled softly.
"Order what you like, Ziggy, I'm not going to tell you no." He rested the side of his face into the palm of his hand, while looking at me.
It made me nervous.
I looked up at the waitress who waited patiently with a soft smile.
"I.. I'll have a coke please." I told her.
Kaiser grinned looking at her now.
"And I'll have the same." He added in as she nodded.
"I'll give the two of you a moment to decide what you want to eat, I'll have those drinks out shortly." She told us before walking away.
I sat there, my heart was pounding hard against my chest.
"Ziggy?"
"Yes!" I blushed hard before shrinking in my seat.
"Sorry.." I murmured as Kaiser blinked before smiling softly.
"You don't need to apologize, but I did want to have a conversation with you, as long as it's not a sensitive subject." He said now.
My brows knitted.
"About what..?"
"Your parents." He replied and I felt myself grow stiff.
I looked down at the menu, frowning softly.
"What did you want to know?" I asked him.
Kaiser watched before frowning softly.
"Where are they?" He questioned.
Tears burned my eyes and his eyes grew wide.
"Oh." I couldn't find my voice sitting there.
It's only been six years, but just hearing them being mentioned in a way that didn't involve yelling, really threw me off.
"They died." I smiled softly with pain in my eyes while looking at Kaiser.
His brows furrowed sitting across from me.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"
"No.. It's okay, trust me. Saying it out loud made me realize they are not here, but.. they were the kindest people I had in my life, they supported me even when our other family members passed judgement. But.." I smiled softly thinking back.
"My parents always fought for me, they wanted me to be happy no matter what, I never realized how much I really do miss them." I looked at Kaiser as he looked at me, I could see the sadness in his eyes.
"I am sorry, Ziggy, that question was personal-"
"I promise it's okay." I smiled softly at the other.
"You are actually the first person to ask me about them, so it's nice getting to talk about them... so, thank you for asking." I told him.
Kaiser stared before sighing softly as he smiled at me.
"I'm definitely going to have to be careful around you." He told me.
I blinked.
"What do you mean-"
"Have we decided on what we want to eat?" The waitress returned with a kind smile on her face as I blushed.
I didn't even look at the menu.
"If you don't know what you want, we do have the hot menu of the day which is the cheese burgers with either onion rings or french fries." She told us.
I fidgeted as Kaiser chuckled softly looking at her.
"We'll both have that, do you want everything on it?" He asked me.
I blushed.
"Oh.. no tomatoes, please." I told her.
The waitress smiled softly.
"I'll get right on it." She told us before walking away again.
"Hey.. Kaiser, can I ask you a question now?" I found my voice as I dared myself to look at the other.
Kaiser blinked but smiled softly.
"Of course, it would be rude of me if I told you no." He said.
I blushed but looked at him confused.
"Why are you being so kind to me..? I mean, we've only known each other for three days, and I'm sure there are other students in that school that you would find more interest in.. so, why me?" I asked him.
Kaiser stared before smiling softly at me.
"Oh that's easy, because you were the first one I wanted to get to know, when you walked into the classroom on Tuesday, my first thought was. I want to know that kid." He shrugged.
My face was on fire.
"D-Does it bother you to be that honest?" I questioned.
Kaiser smirked softly.
"I prefer being honest, especially if it gets a reaction out of someone I'm interested in." He shrugged.
I don't think my face could get any redder than it was right now.
"Ziggy..?"
My heart stopped.
I looked to the left of me to find Lexi there with Codie Bell and Asher Grimes.
Oh no.
"Lexi, hi." I greeted her as she made a confused expression.
"What are you doing here? You usually go straight home." She pointed out.
I felt my face growing warm.
"I invited him to hang out after school." Kaiser spoke up as Lexi looked at him, frowning at the other.
"Who are you?" She questioned.
Kaiser blinked but smiled softly.
"Kaiser Montoya, and you are?" He asked.
Lexi frowned at him.
"Lexi Torres, Ziggy's girlfriend." She answered.
Kaiser's eyes locked on both Asher and Codie who already had their eyes locked on him as well.
Did they know each other?
"What happened to your face?" Lexi frowned softly looking at me now.
I couldn't tell her.
I wasn't supposed to.
But for some reason.
I told Rocky.
Trust maybe..?
It was fuzzy to think about.
"Oh.. I got into it with another student." I lied but my face grew warm as Kaiser glared softly at me, as if he knew I was lying.
"Good grief, you leave one school just to end up in fights at another?" Lexi frowned.
"Funny, I don't recall seeing him get into a fight at our school, I'm sure he was referring to his old school." Kaiser glared softly.
Lexi glared now.
"Is that true, Ziggy? Did you get into a fight with someone at my school?" She asked me.
I frowned softly but made myself nod.
"Was it Zeke?" She pushed and my face flushed red.
The last thing I needed was more issues with him.
"Seems that way." Asher spoke up and it made me feel sick sitting there now.
"You always found a way to get on Zeke's bad side, what did you do this time?" He smirked at me but I kept quiet.
Kaiser frowned softly at me.
"Would you like for them to leave?" He carefully questioned as I looked at him, knitted brows I looked away.
Kaiser sighed standing to his feet but Asher was right in the others face.
"Do we have an issue?" He asked.
Kaiser frowned at him.
"Not yet, but I'd like for you to leave." He told them.
Asher smirked wickedly as he leaned in now.
"Compulsion doesn't work on other vampires, dumb ass." He replied as Kaiser glared now.
Asher grinned stepping back now.
"Come on, I know a better place to eat at." He said now.
Lexi looked at him confused.
"But I thought-"
Codie took Lexi's hand with a smile, her eyes locked with the other.
"Let's go." She told her.
Lexi blinked before nodding, following the blonde out first.
I watched Kaiser and Asher both still standing there.
Asher smirked at him.
"You should know, that one there with you has a very homophobic family, if I were you? I wouldn't bring him to public places like this anymore, unless you want what happened to him last night, happen again." He told Kaisier.
"Bye, Ziggy." Asher grinned at me before walking out of the restaurant.
Kaiser was hesitant before sitting back down.
"Ziggy-"
"I'm sorry." I sat there with tears in my eyes.
Kaiser's eyes grew wide.
"Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything-"
"That's exactly it, I didn't do anything. I never do." My brows knitted as I sat there, tears begging to slip.
"That's why it's so easy for those guys to mess with me, because I can never back myself up without involving someone else. I didn't want to involve you or Rocky, but somehow I know that if I tell Rocky I can fight on my own, he won't let me." Tears slipped.
"I'm sorry, I should go." I stood to my feet but my breath hitched when Kaiser stood and took my hand, his brows furrowed.
"Don't." He told me.
I looked at him.
"I'm a disappointment-"
"You're not-"
"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT AFTER HOW I ACTED WHEN LEXI AND THE OTHERS WERE HERE?!" I yelled at him with tears in my eyes.
Kaiser frowned softly at me.
"Ziggy, please sit." He waited patiently as my brows kept knitting together, tears fell freely before I finally rejoined him.
He offered me a tissue as my face grew warm.
"I'm going to be right here until you're ready to talk." Kaiser told me as my face flushed red and my heart skipped a beat.
I sat there for what felt like hours even though it had only minute minutes, but the silence between us was so loud.
"Have you calmed down?" Kaiser questioned.
I flinched but nodded.
Kaiser smiled softly.
"Good, listen Ziggy, I want you to know that I don't think you're a disappointment. Those students at your old school, have broken you mentally, and I know it takes a lot to come out of something like that. But I also want you to know, that I was not lying when I said I wanted to know you, I want to show you peace." He told me.
I looked at him with knitted brows.
"You don't even know me-"
"Not yet, but that's the whole point of hanging out and getting to know each other." Kaiser smiled softly.
"I want to get to know you, I want to see you smile more and not have that lingering feeling someone is going to make you raise your walls back up. I want to be someone who can help you learn to breathe again." He told me.
My face was burning red sitting there.
"But.. you saw Lexi-"
"I know what I saw and so did you, I've never dated the opposite sex but I'm sure girls are supposed to be excited to see their boyfriends, Lexi seemed confused, she even pointed out you always go home after school. I'm in no place to judge your relationship with her, but I do want you to be careful." He looked at me as my brows knitted.
"Lexi isn't like them, I mean.. we don't do what couples do yet, but.."
Kaiser made a face.
"What do you mean, you don't do what couples do?" He questioned.
I frowned softly.
"I mean.. we don't hold hands, hug, kiss or the other stuff.. Sometimes, it doesn't even feel like we're dating." I told him.
Kaiser frowned softly sitting there.
"Ziggy-"
"Sorry it took so long, one of the cooks burnt the fries and had to start over, but here is your food!" The waitress smiled sitting our plates down.
"Thank you." I said first as Kaiser watched me before he sighed softly then smiled at me.
"Are you going to the lake house after school tomorrow?" He asked me.
I blinked, dipping a fry in ketchup.
"O-Oh.. yeah, I think so.. I think I'm riding with Rock-"
"Ride with me." Kaiser told me as my eyes slightly widened.
"Are you sure..?"
Kaiser smiled softly.
"I'd prefer you in a car instead of in one where two teenage boys are aggressively flirting the whole time, you'd be very uncomfortable, trust me." He told me.
I stared before nibbling on my fry.
"Okay.. If you're sure you are okay with me riding with you." I said now.
Kaiser smiled softly.
"I don't mind at all." He told me before taking a bite of his burger.
I watched him before doing the same, my eyes widened.
"Is it good?" Kaiser questioned with amusement.
I blushed but nodded.
"It's really good." I told him.
He grinned.
"I'm glad, if you'd like, we can start coming here to hang out-"
"O-Oh no, I wouldn't want to put you out of your way-"
"It wouldn't be an issue, unless you'd like to go to my house next time?" He suggested.
My face grew warm as Kaiser smiled softly.
"I promise I won't do anything unless you ask." He told me.
He won't do anything unless I ask..?
Unless I ask..?
WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!
