“Ready for your first game, Ron?” Jasmine asked, breaking her egg yolk with her fork.

“Not really…” Ron muttered, staring down at his porridge, not touching it at all.

“Well, at least give me something to write to Fred and George about,” Jasmine said. “They’ve been waiting since they heard you made the team.”

“Right…” Ron said flatly.

“Good luck with the game, Ron,” a Gryffindor student said, walking past the table.

“Thanks…” Ron said in the same flat tone.

“Try to loosen up at least,” Jasmine said. “Help him out, Harry. I’m sure you were nervous your first day.”

“Right,” Harry agreed, pushing a cup of pumpkin juice towards his friend. Jasmine looked confused, but saw Harry slip the vial of Felix Felicis into his pocket.

“Didn’t mean that kind of help, but alright,” Jasmine said, sitting her second egg in a bowl, uncooking it with her wand, and setting the bowl down on the bench, letting Milo have at it once she let him out of his pouch. Ron looked at Harry, his eyes lit up with a sliver of hope, as he picked up the cup of pumpkin juice.

“You really shouldn’t,” Hermione warned. Ron drank down the pumpkin juice, much to Hermione’s disappointment, and stood up, now beaming with confidence.

“Come on, Harry. We’ve got a game to win,” Ron said, sounding determined. Harry nodded, gave Ron a high five, and got up from the table.

“See you out there,” Harry said.

“See you,” Jasmine said, waving at them.

“Good luck,” Hermione said hesitantly. “How are you so calm about this?”

“Because I know something you don’t,” Jasmine said, finishing up her breakfast.

“What?” Hermione asked.

“You’re a clever witch, Hermione. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Come on, I want good seats,” Jasmine said, getting up. “Come on, Milo.” Milo finished up his egg, licking egg white off of his face, as he climbed into his pouch. Hermione got up and put her coat on, following Jasmine out of the great hall.

“LET’S GO, WEASLEY!!!!” Jasmine yelled, standing by Harry, who covered his ears.

“I still can’t believe you did that,” Hermione said, standing on the other side of Harry. Harry pulled the vial out of his pocket, showing Hermione that it was still full. “You didn’t put it in. Ron only thought you did.”

“I believe muggles call it a ‘placebo-effect’,” Jasmine said.

“You knew,” Hermione said, looking over at Jasmine.

“Of course I did,” Jasmine grinned at her. “I was watching him the whole time. He never opened it.”

“Look at him now,” Harry said. Ron was flying in between the goals so confidently, he was almost a completely different person. Hermione watched Ron, trying to hide her smile, seeing how happy Ron seemed. He continuously blocked each quaffle that came close to the goal, growing more confident with each strike.

“Who’s the seeker, since you’re here?” Jasmine asked, looking over at Harry.

“She’s chasing it now,” Harry said. Jasmine looked at the quidditch field again and smiled, seeing Ginny racing around after the snitch, the Slytherin seeker following far behind. “Isn’t she brilliant?”
