~After Christmas dinner~
Jasmine sat on the couch in the living room, holding her new pet. She let Milo climb up her arm to sit on her shoulder, his little head nestled against her cheek. Jasmine giggled a little and felt someone apparate beside her. She looked over to see Fred now sitting beside her on the couch.
“Oh, hey, Freddie,” she greeted.
“Come on. I want to show you something,” Fred said, holding out his hand.
“Okay,” she said, taking Fred’s hand. They both stood up from the couch and walked out of the living room, before he stopped them.
“Wait,” he said, pulling out his wand. He waved it over both of them, bundling them both up in coats and scarves.
“Oh, we’re going outside?” Jasmine asked.
“Is that okay?” Fred asked. Jasmine gently picked Milo up off of her shoulder and carefully put him inside of her coat so he could stay warm.
“No, that’s fine. Should we get going?” she asked.
“Right,” he said, using his wand to apparate them to the top of a bridge, much to Jasmine’s surprise. She gasped, looking down at the dark waters and traveling cars below and clung to Fred a little.
“Where are we?” she asked.
“London Bridge,” he answered. “Look.” He pointed at something in the distance. Jasmine turned to see what he was pointing at and gasped softly.
“Fred...it’s beautiful,” she said, staring in awe. The town in the distance was glowing bright, from the Christmas lights and decorations.
“The muggles seem to do it every year. George and I used to sneak out after dinner and come here every year. We snuck out earlier to continue on with the tradition. We wanted to add you into our little tradition, since you went through so much,” Fred said. “We figured this would help a little.”
“Thank you. I don’t know where I’d be without you guys. Spending time with all of you was the only reason I would get up every day at Hogwarts, why I decided to teach. I want to repay you guys one day,” she said.
“You don’t have to repay us, Jasmine. We do this because we care about you, not because we expect anything back. You’ve always looked out for us. Just seeing that light in your eyes is all I need,” he said. Jasmine blushed lightly, which was hidden by the cold.
“Thank you, Fred. That’s really sweet of you,” she said, looking up at the redhead. Fred smiled at her, growing bashful from being called sweet.
“It’s no problem,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck while blushing lightly. “Hey, Jasmine?”
“Yeah?” Jasmine asked, looking at the red and green Christmas lights.
“Can I ask you for some advice?” he asked.
“Sure, what’s up?” she asked, looking up at him.
“How do I tell the person I like how I feel?” he asked.
“You just have to do what you feel is right. Don’t think about it too much, or you might lose the opportunity,” she said, earning a nod from Fred.
“Oh, I almost forgot. George and I got you something,” he said, checking his pockets.
“You did?” she asked. “I didn’t get you anything. I kind of feel bad now.”
“You don’t have to get us anything. Just you being here for Christmas is the greatest gift you could ever give us,” he said. He then pulled out a small box and held it out to Jasmine. “I’ll hold it while you open it, since you have Milo.”
