Morning came, still, eerily settling over the compound like a shroud. The group found themselves gathered in their quarters once more, the weight of their discoveries hanging heavy in the air. Taehyung laid the letter on the table once more, the words written by Alpha Dae Hong seeming to sear into their minds.
"This letter is sdamning," Yoongi said, in a low but firm tone of voice. "But alone, it is not enough. If Hyeon's already influencing the council, they're going to need more than just one piece of evidence to take action."
"Agreed," Namjoon said, pacing the room. "We've got motive, so now we need a straight connection between Hyeon and the attack.
"Elder Eun knows more than she's letting on," Hoseok said. "She practically admitted the Beta is involved but stopped short of saying it outright."
"She's scared," Jimin mused. "Which means Hyeon's influence runs deeper than we thought."
Namjoon ceased pacing and turned to Jungkook and Taehyung. "You two found the evidence of staged claw marks. If we can connect that to Hyeon, it could be the missing link.
Taehyung nodded. "If he ordered his wolves to fake evidence, someone overheard or was involved. We need to find those wolves."
"We can't forget the east wing," Jimin added. "Those pack members mentioned shifting files there. There might be more hidden."
Namjoon nodded. "Then that's where we start."
This time, Jungkook and Taehyung went back to the borders but with a clear mission: track down the wolves responsible for the staged claw marks. They moved with purpose, following the trail they'd uncovered the day before.
As they reached the site where they'd found the buried fragments, Taehyung crouched, studying the disturbed earth again. "This isn't just where they staged the evidence. It's where they planned it."
How do you figure?" Jungkook asked, scanning the area.
Taehyung pointed to a series of faint bootprints leading away from the site. "The depth and size of these prints were here for a while. Long enough to dig and argue over what to do next."
Jungkook smirked. "Good eye.
They went into the woods where the smell of the wolves was very sharp. In a short distance, Jungkook caught several hushed voices ahead, and with a swift sign, he asked Taehyung to freeze in place.
Two members were at the foot of a tiny stream, talking furtively.
"I told you, we should've buried everything," he said with panic laced in his voice. "If they find out-
"They won't," the other snapped. "Beta Hyeon made sure of it. Stop worrying."
Taehyung glanced at Jungkook, who nodded. The two wolves weren't just complicit—they were key players.
Stepping out of the shadows, Taehyung cleared his throat. "Interesting conversation you're having."
The wolves froze, their eyes widening.
"Relax," Jungkook said with a cold smile. "We just want to talk.
While the others were busy gathering information, Jimin and Yoongi returned to the east wing to investigate the files. The building was still abandoned as before, with a faint smell of dust and dampened wood in the air.
"This time, we don't leave without something concrete," Yoongi grumbled, pushing the door open.
Inside, the boxes they'd seen yesterday were gone, but faint drag marks on the floor led further into the building.
"They moved them recently," Jimin said, following the trail after them.
The marks terminated at a locked door at the far end of the corridor. Yoongi looked at it closely, the eyes narrowing. "Cheap lock. Give me a second.
With practised precision, he pulled out a small tool and worked the mechanism. A soft click echoed, and the door creaked open.
Inside was a smaller room, dimly lit by a single window. Boxes were stacked haphazardly against the walls, some spilling their contents onto the floor.
Jimin pulled a file from the nearest box and opened it. His eyes widened as he scanned the pages. "These are patrol assignments. And look—orders from Hyeon himself to stand down the night of the attack."
Yoongi joined him, flipping through another file. "Here. Financial records. He's been diverting pack funds into a personal account. Probably to pay off anyone who might speak against him."
"This is it," Jimin said, his voice even but pressing. "This proves everything."The two pack members shifted uncomfortably under the sharp gaze of Jungkook. Taehyung leaned casually against a tree, his face deceptively calm.
"We don't want to hurt you," Taehyung said smoothly. "But we do want the truth."
The taller of the two wolves swallowed hard. "We don't know anything."
Jungkook stepped closer, eyes darkening further. "Don't lie."
The other wolf buckled under the weight of their combined stares. "It was Beta Hyeon!" he blurted. "He told us to fake the claw marks. Said it would take attention away from the pack."
"And the attack on Alpha Dae Hong?" Taehyung pressed.
The wolf hesitated, but a low growl from Jungkook made him flinch.
"We-we don't know much," the wolf stammered. "But he was meeting with someone from another pack before it happened. Someone powerful."
Jungkook's eyes narrowed. "Which pack?"
The wolf hesitated again, but Taehyung's sharp glare seemed enough to loosen his tongue. "The Ironfang Pack. They've been trying to expand their territory for years."
Taehyung exchanged a glance with Jungkook. This wasn't just internal corruption-this was a conspiracy.
By the time the group got together again, a disturbing picture was pieced together by the evidence they had compiled.
Namjoon laid all his cards on the table: faked claw marks, financial records, patrol orders, and testimony from wolves. Put together, all pointed to one inescapable truth.
"Hyeon orchestrated the attack with help from the Ironfang Pack," Namjoon finally said, his voice thick with emotion. "And he has been covering it up since then.
"The council can't ignore this," Hoseok said. "Not with this much evidence."
Yoongi nodded. "But if Hyeon gets wind of what we've found, he'll try to destroy it—or us."
"We need to act fast," Namjoon said, and his jaw tightened. "We present this to the council tonight-no delays."
The group nodded in agreement, and resolve set in.
The Moonlight Pack had played their card, and it was time the truth came to light.
