Days went by and weeks, and the presence of YN in the pack had become part of the day-to-day routine. She wasn't just a member of the pack; she was an unsilenced force of strength, wit, and determination. Whether it be training, helping with pack duties, or even cracking jokes over dinner, YN knew just how to make people feel at ease.
But little did anyone know, she was stirring something else.
Namjoon was the first to notice it. He couldn't help but be impressed by her focus during their training sessions. The furrowing of her brow when she concentrated, the way her laughter would break through on tough days, was disarming. He kept his feelings tightly guarded, knowing the responsibility of leadership left no room for distractions.
The others weren't far behind in noticing it.
Jungkook had always been the protector, finding himself drifting to YN in quiet moments- pointing out things to work on when they spared or making her take a break when he thought she was going too hard. Tease everyone's lover, Taehyung found his eyes drifting to her with a softness that he did not quite understand.
Jimin, ever emotional, began to catch himself stealing glances when she wasn't looking. Yoongi found her sharp mind during strategy discussions, and he was impressed more than he cared to admit. Jin and Hoseok, the most grounded of the group, started to notice a warmth in her presence that drew them in, though they buried the thoughts beneath layers of practicality.
It was late one night that it came to a head.
The brothers sat in the common area well after a day of exhaustion. The fire crackled softly in the hearth, casting flickering shadows across the room. YN had long since gone to bed, her laughter and yawns from earlier in the evening still lingering in the air like a melody.
"She's special," Jungkook said quietly, breaking the silence.
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "What brought that on?"
Jungkook shrugged, his gaze fixed on the fire. "I mean it. She's strong, she's smart, and. I don't know. I just feel like she makes everything. better."
Yoongi let out a low chuckle, sipping his tea. "You're not wrong. She's grown a lot since she came here.
"And we're all better for it," Hoseok added, his tone contemplative. "She's the glue that held us together during the Ironfang mess. You can't deny that."
Jimin smirked knowingly. "You're all talking like you don't feel it. Don't think I haven't noticed the way you all look at her."
Namjoon's expression tightened slightly, but he didn't deny it. "It's. complicated."
Complicated how?" Jin asked, crossing his arms. "Because from where I'm sitting, we're all in the same boat."
The room fell to an uncomfortable silence.
"It's not like we can act on it," Yoongi finally said, his voice low. "She's still finding her place here. The last thing she needs is us throwing emotions at her.
She's already handling enough, Namjoon agrees, his voice firm yet betrayed with conflict. "The pack comes first. Her growth comes first. Anything else. it's secondary."
"But is it right to pretend we don't care?" Taehyung asks, an almost somber tone to his voice. "She's bound to notice sooner or later."
"Then we cross that bridge when we get there," Jin replied calmly. "Now we focus on being by her side, helping her into what she will be.
Jungkook hesitated then nodded. "You are right, but all the same. Can't help it."
"You are not the only one," Jimin softly said.
They gradually came to a silent, mutual agreement as the night wore on: their emotions for YN were not simple, complicated by both responsibility and brotherhood. Now they would look after her and support her, but emotions would have to be deeply buried.
But as the fire burned low and the room grew quiet, each of them knew that wouldn't be so easy.
While the others had retired to slumber, YN alone slept soundly in her packhouse, unaware that a tempest was storming within the hearts of her adoptive brothers.
