Kingdom of Edgellaf, Capital City, Above The Capital City, In The Sky, The VTOL Peacemaker 45.
1st Year of God, Thursday, 3rd Week, Month Of Jonah.
As the Peacemaker was gaining altitude, a deep roar came from the distant sky, causing the special operation soldiers who were just taking a rest and were licking their own wounds to be once again alerted.
After all, the sound was disturbingly familiar to the sounds that they had heard on the day of the New Year's attack only half a year ago. It is most likely one of those mythical creatures that had wrought havoc upon the nation during their transportation. However, there were some minor differences with the creature that they have heard.
Nevertheless, it is most likely "That" creature.
On a far distance, a creature was traveling through the heavens with blistering speed, with loud growls as it flapped its cosmic size wings. The creature's sinewy muscles on its wings were very thin yet extremely defined. Pieces of bones were protruding out of the top of its wings, while the bone formations inside its wings were clearly visible as the skin of its wings molded into the shape of the bone, which gives it a defined look throughout its body. Large veins along with small veins form a mesh network throughout its body.
With each flap, the various muscles and veins were being stretched to its limit under the shining sky of the sun, which forms a glistening creature when observed from below.
At the back of the enormous creature with two mid-sized legs that is enough to support the body itself when the creature lands, was a man with dwarven features.
The dwarven man rode the creature as it flew through the bright blue sky. With the wind razing through his skin as he faced it head on fearlessly. The dwarven man was strapped on to the heavy duty saddle on the back of the two legged winged creature.
With great maneuverability in the sky, the creature stopped flapping its wings, and with a terrifying grace, it began a sharp dive and spun through the air as it flew toward the ground. Its target was the Peacemaker.
Onboard, alarms were blaring throughout the Peacemaker with red lights flickered across consoles as warnings erupted in rapid succession.
[Unidentified object approaching at high speed!]
The special operation soldiers panicked and looked out through the windows, desperate for a glimpse of the threat. Even the pilots strained to see beyond the glare of the sun, but the creature was rapidly descending at a frightening rate and made it hidden. Panic rippled through the cabin as the Peacemaker shuddered under the strain of evasive maneuvers.
“If we don’t move, we’re done for!” someone shouted.
From the cockpit, Nathan barked into the chaos, “Is that a fucking dragon!? Where the hell are our fighter escorts?”
“They’re not with us!” another soldier replied, sweat beading on his forehead. “There was some kind of delay, but they’ll be here soon!”
“How soon!?”
“Uh... an hour? Maybe a little more?”
Nathan clenched his fists. “Great. In a few hours, we’ll all be barbecue!”
Meanwhile, the pilots strained their eyes and scanned every angle of the sky, but were still unable to see where the creature was coming from. All they know is the fact that there was a blinking dot on their radar with the alarms screaming throughout the cockpit.
