Chapter 5

Time skip 3 weeks

Ira POV

It's been a while since I joined the Glitter Force and its been pretty great ya know except for Gura coming back for a rematch every stinkin day (seriously it's exhausting) Mack and I picked up where we left off, I'm staying with Rachel and her mom, and now it's my first day of something called school, the girls are trying to explain to me how it works while Rachel's mom registers me but I'm still confused "So let me get this straight we have to get up early, come to a building where we can't leave for 8 hours, sit through boring classes, eat gross lunches, go back to the boring classes, go home and then do MORE WORK?!" (so like prison...cool)
I say bewildered "Uh huh" they say. "5 days a week?" "Uh huh"
"Every week?" "Uh huh" "For 4 years?" "Yep" I turn to Rachel "Rachel you actually like this stuff??" She smiles, "Yep"
I now regret asking where Rachel goes all day. I already miss lounging around playing Fortnite and eating Doritos "At least you'll be in our class." Mack says, trying to make me feel better and it works...a little. "Yeah Mack but still, it sounds exhausting." Kane pipes up, "Wait if we aren't allowed to be seen then what're we supposed to do?" Kippi peeks her head from Maya's bag "We sit it their bags and wait." Kane looks at me with a worried face and I know what it's about, my pixie happens to be extremely claustrophobic. "Don't worry Kane it's a pretty big bag"
I say pulling it out, my fox friend relaxed and Rachel's mom comes out of the office "Ok Ira you're all signed up." I smile "Thanks mrs Ri-" "A dark heart beat!" Rory says.
We all stiffen as I silently curse at the pixie for blowing his cover thankfully he's in Rachels bag so Mrs Rivers can't hear him "-vers sorry we have to go." She raises an eyebrow "Where do you have to be, class is-" I twitch my hand and her pager goes off, she says a hasty goodbye and runs away. I'm getting better at this. As we run down to the Distain I see Gura who is having a laugh at the chaos until he sees us "Still playing make believe with the Glitter Girls Ira? Come on back home where you belong" The girls stiffen again and Mack looks at me "Ira don't let him get in your head lets just deal with him and get to school." I nod, "You're right lets do this." It doesn't matter I tell myself, Gura has been saying stuff like this since day one. We transform and kick his butt (again), and by the time we run back to school Kane is sleeping in my bag and I'm not far behind, until Rachel shakes my shoulder "Ira come on we have to go to class." I whine "Noooo I wanna sleep." Mac comes to my other side "Come on if you make it through the school day ....then we can get some Cinnabon on the way home." Dang it she found my weakness. I sigh "Fine." I make it through half of the school day (only dosing off once in English but come on who reads all those books) until right before lunch when I see Rachel in the hall with some huge guy "Look Luca, I'm sorry but no." He scowls "What do you mean no everyone wants some of this." He steps closer to her, pinning her against the locker
"Well I don't, I already told you I like someone else." She tries to step away but he follows, she looks scared. Before I know it I'm standing right behind him struggling to stay calm. The world starts to go red, no one gets to mess with the girl I lo- like I meant like. "Leave. Her. Alone." I say each word slowly but with a bit of edge. The Luca guy turns around, takes one look at me and chuckles "What are you gonna do about it pipsqueak." I shift my hand and Luca looks like he's been punched in the gut "aah!"
Just then the girls come down the hall and see what's happening  "Don't ever come near Rachel. Ever again!" I scowl "Ira, let it go"
Mack says, rushing to my side "Yeah Ira its ok he didn't hurt me." Rachel says. I stare Luca down wanting to wipe that smug grin of his face. I twitch my hand again, Luca doubles over "That's not the point Rachel, he was harassing you." I clench my hand into a fist and my thoughts start to go down a dark path until....did Rachel just kiss me???! She blushes and pulls back "Ira I promise I'm fine can you just let it go?" It takes me awhile to process her words, maybe the kiss was a figment of my imagination. Luca looks up silently pleading with me. I sigh and look at him, "If I ever see you near her ever again..." I say in a warning tone, he nods understanding that this is his only warning. "Fine you can go"
Then the bell rings signaling lunch
"Let's go." Clara says softly. We walk away with Mack giving me a cheeky grin
