Forgotten Love

Chapter 22

Ira POV

I stare up at Kitty's distain. It's a huge red heart with a golden crown "Get her Distain! ATTACK!" The heart runs toward Rachel "NO!" I fly up and kick it with all my might, blasting it backwards. "Tranform!"

"Insert glitter charm. Glitter force make over!"
Once we're all transformed the distain has finally managed to stand up. It's eyes glow red "Duck!" Rachel yells. As soon as we get down, lasers shoot out of it's eyes. "Thanks Rach. Now let's kill this thing."

"I got this" Maya says confidently "Insert glitter charm! Glitter Bow, glitter force heart shot!" She shoots the distain with perfect aim and it's surrounded by smoke and dust.

I smile "Nice job Heart." She grins triumphantly and Kitty cackles "You really thought it would be that easy?" The distain rises from the smoke and sprints towards Maya.

She barely has time to dodge when the distain aims it's laser eyes at all of us. It's eyes turn red just like before, there's no time to move "Insert glitter charm! Activate Clover Reflection!" Clara stands in front of us with a huge shield.

The lasers hit her shield, breaking it effortlessly. We scream and hit the ground as fast as possible, "It's immune to our powers!" Says Natalie.

Regina rolls her eyes "No duh Sherlock."

I scowl "Not the time guys."

The heart comes barreled towards us again "Rachel!" She look at me "Together." I nod "Insert glitter charm. Activate twinkle diamond!" She spreads ice on the ground causing the distain to slide toward us faster.

"Insert glitter charm. Glitter Bow! Activate Wild Tornado!" I send a spiral of wind towards the distain, causing it to slide backwards into a wall. "Yes" We fist bump and both our Glitter Pads start to glow "What's happening?" Rachel asks. "I don't know." I say.

Suddenly a blue glitter charm appears in front of me and a silver one in front of Rachel. "Is this a mistake?" Rachel asks.

Mack shakes her head "A glitter pad never makes mistakes." The distain starts to get up as Kitty yells.

"Why would we get each other's colors?" The distain slips on the ice and falls back down.

"Think." Rachel says "Kitty made that distain out of pure hatred."

I nod as Kitty yells at the distain, "And she already had it on her. To harbor a dark heart you must constantly feed it with dark energy, that's probably why it's so strong."

Rachel nods "Wait a second, the opposite of darkness is light and the opposite of hate,"

"Is love!" We say at the same time. "We got these charms because by working together. We showed our love for each other!" Rachel beams.

"That's great," Mack says "Now hurry up and use them!" I turn to where she's looking and see the distain sprinting toward us yet again.

"On 3. 1..." I say.

"2..." Rachel says as the distain gets closer

"3!" We say.

"Insert Glitter charm!" We place the charms at the same time. Blue and white lights swirl around us, lifting us off the ground. A voice comes from the glitter pads "Activating True Loves Power!"

I take Rachel's hand as the lights engulf us. Our fingers lace together and our eyes glow as we raise our hands. Ice blasts from my fingertips and wind gusts from hers, both hitting the distain at the same time swirling around it as it's purified. The magic travels and swirls around Kitty and she vanishes.

We slowly float back to the earth as the girls look at us in astonishment. Regina and Maya catch us as we fall unconscious and the world goes black.

Rachel POV

I blink open my eyes and find myself in my room laying in Ira's arms. What happened? The last thing I remember is putting in the glitter charms. I look at Ira and poke his cheek "Ira..." No response, I poke again "Babe."

He opens his eyes and sits up abruptly "What happened?" He says frantically. He pauses for a second and I understand that he's trying to contact Regina. She pops into the room with Natalie and Maya and they hug us tightly.

"Thank God you're ok." Maya says.

Once they finish and pull back I look at them seriously "What happened?"

Mack looks at us quizzically "You don't remember?"

We both shake our heads and Natalie pulls out her phone. "Look." She shows us a YouTube video of us being surrounded by blue and white lights, our eyes are glowing and we're holding hands as the lights lift us into the air. Our other hands go out, ice shooting from Ira's and wind from mine. The elements swirl around the distain and it's purified, the magic makes Kitty disappear and Ira and I float back down into the arms of our friends.

Natalie puts her phone back in her pocket "Woah." Rachel whispers "That was us?"

Regina nods "It's the most powerful glitter power I've ever seen."

I nod "C-can you guys give us a minute?" They nod and leave, I turn to Rachel. "No one's ever seen this before. I don't know what to do with it. If anyone were to know it'd be Marie but I don't know how to contact her."

Rachel shrugs "What about the pixies?"

I shake my head, "They wouldn't know either. We need someone who was a warrior in love." I think and Rachel smiles "I know who to talk to."

Time skip

I knock on the office door "Jonny?"

My brother-in-law looks up from his work "Oh hey Ira. What's up?"

Rachel and I walk in "Have you ever heard of 'True Loves Power'?"

His eyes widen "How do you know about that?"

Rachel takes out her phone and shows him the video. "Woah" He says.

I nod, "We figured you'd know something about it since you and Marie were both warriors."

Jonny sighs "Your sister and I had that powers. But we only used it once."

I raise an eyebrow "Why? It's so powerful."

Jonny looks at me seriously "We thought it was what made Marie sick."

My eyes widen and Rachel speaks up "What? If that's true then..."

"That's what started this whole thing." I finish.

Jonny nods "After she was cured we vowed to never use the power again."

I look at Rachel then back to Jonny "How long?"

Jonny looks at me inquisitively "How long till what?"

I take a deep breath "How long did it take for Marie to get sick after using the power."

Jonny glances at Rachel then looks at me understandingly "About a week."

I look at Rachel "How are you feeling?"

She smiles softly "I feel fine."

"You sure?" I ask. She nods and I sigh in relief. 

I look at Jonny "One week?"

He nods. "Ok, I'll monitor her until then. If this power is what nearly killed my sister, then I'm throwing the glitter charms into space."
